Number of Americans calling illegal

The number of Americans who see illegal immigration as the nation´s most pressing problem has spiked from 3 per cent to 17 percent since May, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday. That percentage now tops government corruption, the U.S. economy, jobs, health care and every other hot-button issue, driven by a flood of tens of thousands of illegal immigrant children pouring across the U.S.-Mexico border. When Gallup announced the results of the same poll in two months age, ´immigration´ and ´illegal aliens´ ranked eleventh out of 47 issues, attracting a deep level of worry from fewer Americans than those

MH17 plane crash: Dutch
experts examine bodies
BBC News [UK], by Staff    Original Article
Posted By: Attercliffe- 7/21/2014 11:58:33 AM     Post Reply
Pro-Russian rebels have allowed Dutch investigators to examine bodies from the crashed Malaysia Airlines plane at a railway station in eastern Ukraine. The three Dutch experts said the train might leave the town of Torez later. All 298 people on board flight MH17 died when it crashed over the rebel-held area on 17 July. The US and other nations say there is growing evidence of Russian complicity in the crash. Meanwhile, heavy fighting is reported in the main rebel-held city of Donetsk. The clashes--involving heavy weapons--are continuing near the city´s airport and the railway station, eyewitnesses say.

Israel´s UN ambassador denied on Sunday that an Israeli soldier had been abducted by Hamas terrorists in the course of the fighting at the Shejaiya neighborhood. "There is no kidnapped Israeli soldier and those rumors are untrue," said Ambassador Ron Prosor when asked about the kidnapping. The armed wing of the Palestinian Hamas group claimed late Sunday that it had kidnapped an Israeli soldier, prompting celebrations in the streets of Gaza City. "The Israeli soldier Shaul Aaron is in the hands of the Qassam Brigades," a spokesman using the nom-de-guerre Abu Obeida said in a televised address. He provided the supposed soldier´s name

A heavy barrage of rocket fire from the Gaza Strip set off sirens throughout Israel on Monday morning, including in the Tel Aviv and Beit Shemesh areas. A number of audible explosions were heard in the Tel Aviv area, which was targeted for the first time in several days. Rocket attacks on the city have been reduced since the beginning of the IDF ground invasion into Gaza last week. Sirens were also heard in Ashkelon, Ashdod, Rishon Lezion, Yavne and Kiryat Malachi in Monday morning´s attack. The Iron Dome intercepted a total of five rockets over Ashdod and the greater Tel

Britain will vote to leave Europe unless Brussels hands David Cameron major concessions, the Foreign Secretary warned yesterday. Philip Hammond said it was ‘pretty clear’ that voters will reject EU membership in a planned referendum in 2017 without changes being made. [Snip] Mr Hammond, arguably the most anti-EU Foreign Secretary the UK has had, added: ‘What I can tell, and have told my European colleagues, is that if the offer by European partners is nothing, no change, no negotiation, I am pretty clear what the answer of the British people in that referendum is going to be.’

From reading the international and national news you would probably never have known that last Thursday and Friday alone, over 700 people were killed in Syria at the hands of jihadists and pro-Assad forces. Muslim on Muslim, Arab on Arab, human on human, whatever you like to think of it as--Western media is doing an awful job of reporting these abhorrent incidences--and I think I know why. My colleague Jonathan Spyer from the Global Research in International Affairs (GLORIA) Center, and fellow at the Middle East Forum (full disclosure: a position I also hold) noted it best today when he

In the four days since Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 came down on the Ukrainian border, the basic facts of the situation have remained unchanged. The overwhelmingly likely scenario is that the plane was shot down by a missile, fired by pro-Russian separatists, who had received their armaments from the Kremlin (along, it transpired, with inadequate training in their use). [Snip] Mr Putin’s separatist lackeys have asserted their control of the crash site, harassing and intimidating the experts sent to inspect the wreckage. Victims’ bodies have been treated with shameful disregard, the property of the deceased picked through at will, the

David Cameron last night warned Vladimir Putin his billionaire ‘cronies’ will have their assets frozen in London unless he co-operates with the probe into Flight MH17. The Prime Minister vented his fury at Russia’s obstruction in a 30-minute phone call--the first direct contact between the leaders since the jet was shot down with the loss of 298 lives. He effectively blamed Russia, telling Mr Putin he had ‘contributed to an appalling tragedy’. And he urged him to ‘change course’ by calling off the armed thugs in eastern Ukraine thought to have been behind the atrocity that left ten Britons dead.

His charming animated, black-and-white adventures have now amassed more than 500m views on YouTube, and led to books and merchandising that funds an entire studio in London. He is a phenomenon that simply would not have emerged without the web. This week, however, the animators behind Simon’s Cat, led by creator Simon Tofield, took an even more internet-savvy path. In a bid to fund a full-length short film, in colour, they’ve turned to online crowd-funding site Indiegogo to raise some

Sinn Féin, the political wing of the terrorist Provisional IRA, pulled a pro-Palestinian stunt in the Irish parliament, the Dáil, yesterday during which Gerry Adams, party leader and alleged former IRA leader, manoeuvred members of both government and opposition into standing for a minute’s silence as a show of solidarity with Gaza. Adams, in a move that was out of order, turned to the Speaker and said: "I ask you to invite the Dáil to stand for one minute in solidarity with the people of Gaza and the Middle East." At a political event in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday, President Obama devoted only 40 seconds to the shooting down of the Malaysian airline, his first statement to the world following the news. His emotionless reference to the attack as ‘a terrible tragedy’ seemed disconnected from the horrific moment, particularly as he immediately reverted to script to praise his administration and criticise Republicans. It was a far cry from President Reagan’s 1983 fierce denunciation of the Soviet shooting down of a Korean airliner as a ‘crime against humanity’. But it only confirmed the chaos into which US foreign policy has descended since the summer

Convinced that their region has suffered as much Obama administration meddling as it can possibly stand, Israel and Egypt took the extraordinary step earlier this week of jointly rejecting requests by US Secretary of State John Kerry to involve himself in ceasefire talks with the terrorist group Hamas. Israeli and Egyptian diplomats both claim Egyptian efforts to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas collapsed as a direct result of Secretary Kerry’s announcement he was prepared to join the talks. He apparently made the announcement without first consulting either of the parties. The diplomats are convinced that their own

LOS ANGELES — Actor James Garner, whose whimsical style in the 1950s TV Western “Maverick” led to a stellar career in TV and films such as “The Rockford Files” and his Oscar-nominated “Murphy’s Romance,” has died, police said. He was 86. He was found dead of natural causes at his home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles Saturday evening, Los Angeles police officer Alonzo Iniquez said early Sunday. Police responded to a call around 8 p.m. PDT and confirmed Garner’s identity from family members, Iniquez told The Associated Press. There was no immediate word on a more specific cause of death. Garner had suffered a stroke in May 2008, just weeks after his 80th birthday.

A pernicious, little-known Obama administration policy – one that that incentivizes adult illegal immigrants to use children as human shields to escape arrest and deportation at the border – largely has escaped the media’s notice. This same policy is driving the historic surge of children at the border, as everyone from coyotes to illegal immigrant adults already in America seeks to use children to guarantee their safe passage into the country, or to protect them from deportation if they are illegally living here. The flood of illegal immigrant children, piling up like human debris on the US border, won’t stop
