Pope Francis Calls on U.S.
to Welcome Illegal Immigrants

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Robert Wilde

Original Article

In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

Comments:
I understand his humanitarian concerns, but what about the disastrous economic impact on this country?? I´m sick of everyone in the world telling us what we should do in this country. I note that people aren´t flooding the borders of the hell holes of Iraq, Syria, Somalia, etc. We cannot take care of the entire world!!

From the official Vatican translation:

This humanitarian emergency requires, as a first urgent measure, these children be welcomed and protected. These measures, however, will not be sufficient, unless they are accompanied by policies that inform people about the dangers of such a journey and, above all, that promote development in their countries of origin. Finally, this challenge demands the attention of the entire international community so that new forms of legal and secure migration may be adopted.

Note - he´s referring to the entire international community to adopt legal and secure immigration policies.

I agree with the Pope that we have to show basic human compassion to the illegals. For the very short time that they should be here, we need to make sure they get food and emergency medical care.

But then they must be immediately returned to their home countries.

They can then apply to come here legally if they truly want to come to this country.

There is nothing un-compassionate or un-Christian about any of that.

Poster 5 where is the "basic human compassion" for the citizens of the United States? Where is the "basic human compassion" for the taxpayers who are going to have to foot the bill? Where is the "basic human compassion" for the people who live in these boarder towns in TX AZ & NM? Where is the "basic human compassion" for the service man being held in a Mexican prison?

The time for "basic human compassion" is done. Peoples hearts "bleed" they "bleed" so much they no longer know or understand what it is they are "bleeding" for.

Next Sunday, as you stand on your balcony looking down on the many thousands in the square below, just invite them all IN !
HOW many could occupy Castle Gandolfo?
Pope Francis would have given a valuable message if he cautioned his Bishops and Arch Bishops to OBEY the laws and stop violating them in the USA.

Why are unaccompanied minors allowed entry? They should be with their parents. Religious and secular leaders should not be promoting the break up of families.

Central America and Mexico should regard the great migration of their citizens to the U.S. as a great shame on their own governance. We should shame them for allowing this travesty to their people.

From the first words from Francis I knew I couldn´t care less for anything he has and would say. He may not be a communist but he is on the edge of the envelope. The Vatican is large enough to take on thousands of these illegal wetback childre. Has he any thought to bringing them to Vatican City? I think not, just why don´t you Americans take on the problems of Central America and elsewhere?. Like Gen. McAuliff said to the Germans at Bastogne, NUTS!!

For decades, America has given freely of her time, treasure and military assistance and has asked nothing in return. It´s a good thing because we have gotten nothing in return except for the gratitude of the poor souls we have saved from death and destruction. Those who accept our help and then spout their hatred for us are all around the world, Mexico and most Central and South American countries being among them. You welcome them Frankie, and spend some of that Vatican treasure on them, we are broke and tired.

You would all do well to click through Breitbart to Patheos and then to the Vatican Radio link and read for yourself what Pope Francis said.

You are getting reaing Breitbart´s interpretation of Patheos´ interpretation of the Pope´s written address to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development.”

Read what he said in context, not what someone thinks he said.

The Vatican should be good for housing about 1000 of them and Rome should be able to make room for ten times that. Then there is Castel Gandolfo, a nice resort atmosphere for the "kids".

The Pope is working on this from the wrong angle. Go to those countries and work with your Church there to right these wrongs. That should be your mission.

When the Pope opens the Vatican to all the homeless in Europe and the world, then and only then does he have the right to tell us what we should do. In addition, the Catholic church has millions and millions of dollars wrapped up in art etc. Sell those and use the money to help the poor before you preach to others. Pretty hypocritical.

Easy to do when you aren´t the one paying.

That said, his statement wasn´t all that bad - he referred to secure border and development of those hellholes down sluth. The first step toward that is to quit electing communists who suction all the economic life out of a country. That starts with getting rid of all the liberation theology that has polluted those fair lands. Mr. Pope, your move.

The U.S. government not only failed to prosecute an illegal alien who stole the identity of his dead baby son—who had collected SSI before he died—but granted the father legal status to work in the United States. This one-time illegal alien, the Office of Inspector General for the Social Security Administration believes, fraudulently used his son’s Social Security Number for at least three years. Yet, he was not prosecuted, according to the IG’s office, because his case did not meet the prosecutorial guidelines of the U.S. attorney for New Jersey. HOUSTON, Texas--While the Obama Administration has largely expressed surprise at the sharp increase in illegal immigrants from Central America this year, the Health and Human Services (HHS) budget for processing unaccompanied foreign minors has exploded in recent years, raising questions about whether the administration could have foreseen, or did foresee, the crisis. To an American — let’s say a young white man– the three-lane checkpoint some 70 miles from the border seems far from threatening. A Border Patrol agent asks if you’re a U.S. citizen. Answer correctly, and he lets you through. But for illegal immigrants who want to elude capture, the Falfurrias checkpoint, with drug-sniffing dogs looming, is the likely end of the journey. Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin on Tuesday urged Walgreen Co. to reconsider a possible move of its headquarters to Switzerland to lower its U.S. tax bill. In a letter to Walgreen Chief Executive Gregory Wasson, Durbin said the company could face a backlash from its customers. “I believe you will find that your customers are deeply patriotic and will not support Walgreen’s decision to turn its back on the United States,” Durbin wrote. “Nearly all of your $2.5 billion in profits earned last year were from sales to U.S. taxpaying customers.” The senator ended his letter with a twist on Walgreen’s

In a potentially crippling blow to Obamacare, a federal appeals court panel declared Tuesday that government subsidies worth billions of dollars that helped 4.7 million people buy insurance on HealthCare.gov are illegal. The 2-1 ruling said such subsidies can be granted only to people who bought insurance in an Obamacare exchange run by an individual state or the District of Columbia—not on the federally run exchange HealthCare.gov. "Section 36B plainly makes subsidies available in the Exchanges established by states," wrote Senior Circuit Judge Raymond Randolph in his majority opinion, where he was joined by Judge Thomas Griffith. "We reach this conclusion, frankly,

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund has filed a class action lawsuit against the city of Detroit for water shutoffs that members claim are racially motivated. The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department stopped service to about 7,200 buildings with overdue bills in June, compared to 1,570 in the same month last year. The issue gained national attention last month after activists appealed to the United Nations for help. The shutoffs are “being done in a discriminatory fashion,” the NAACP’s Veronica Joice told a local CBS affiliate. “They should at least take a look at whether there’s a better way to do this that doesn’t affect the most vulnerable citizens

WASHINGTON —Polarization and partisanship are a plague on American politics. Political scientists have found that the two parties have each grown more ideologically homogeneous since the 1970s. The Senate hasn’t been so polarized since Reconstruction; the House has not been so divided since around 1900. As measured by laws passed, the current Congress is on track to be among the least productive in our republic’s history. How did this happen? One of the main causes has not gotten enough attention: the party primary system. The reasons behind the shocking primary defeat last month of Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia, who

While our current secretary of state John Kerry is under fire for sarcastically joking about Israel’s “pinpoint operation” in Gaza, one former secretary of state echoed those sentiments during an appearance on CNN Tuesday afternoon. Speaking to Wolf Blitzer, Madeleine Albright said she thinks Israel is “overdoing” it with its offensive into the Gaza Strip and losing some of its “moral authority” in the process. “I do think the point has to be made, if rockets are being shot at Israel, that Israel does have a right to defend itself,” Albright said. “But the bottom line is the question of proportionality.” Blitzer singled out her use of the word

When President Obama wraps up his 16-day summer break next month on Martha´s Vineyard, Mass., he will have taken all or part of 141 days of vacation, time split between summers on the island, winters in his native Hawaii and birthday weekends at his Chicago home. Obama has been criticized for taking costly and lengthy vacations, especially compared to the short trips most Americans take. The U.S. Travel Association told Secrets that the average American vacation lasts just 3.7 days. But his 141 days out of Washington are far less than the 378 former President George W. Bush took in

The top Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform panel is objecting to a plan to call the Internal Revenue Service commissioner to testify for a third time in a matter of weeks, calling it “public harassment of an agency head.” Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., sent a letter Monday to Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., objecting to a decision to call Commissioner John Koskinen to testify at a hearing on Wednesday. It would be the third time Koskinen appeared before the panel in the past month, Cummings noted. “Requiring Commissioner Koskinen to testify again this week not only takes him away
