Congressional staffers investigating data falsification and whistleblower retaliation at the Department of Veterans Affairs regional office in Philadelphia were given a workspace there that was wired with activated audio microphones and video cameras, the chairman of the House Committee on Veterans´ Affairs said Monday. Committee investigators also glimpsed a notebook used by the agency´s regional director that bore written instructions to ignore their requests for information, Rep. Jeff Miller, R-Fla., said during a late-night hearing. Miller, chairman of the veterans committee, said he is “shocked” by the directives from VA officials to ignore congressional investigators. “You will not ignore this

Disgusting article about disgusting people in this disgusting administration. But you know what? NO ONE will be fired, fined or jailed. Most will probably get a lateral transfer or maybe 2 days, with pay. This entire mal-administration is an on-going criminal enterprise.

If only we could give all vets a coupon to go to a private physician. Unfortunately, Obama has turned private medicine into another VA.

Kerry spent Labor Day enjoying himself while the Obama administration still admittedly has no strategy for dealing with the threat of ISIS in Iraq. Kerry was last seen kiteboarding in mid-August in Nantucket. Kerry’s last documented work-related activity was seen in the pages of Saturday’s New York Times, in the form of an op-ed entitled “To Defeat Terror, We Need the World’s Help: The Threat of ISIS Demands A Global Coalition.” During his 2004 presidential campaign, Kerry — whose wife inherited her late Republican husband’s ketchup fortune — genuinely believed that his enthusiasm for water sports would make him seem

When Leandra Becerra Lumbreras was born, the dust had still not settled on the Civil War, Teddy Roosevelt was a little-known cowboy in the Dakotas, and no one had ever heard of radio, basketball or the airplane. Dwight Eisenhower, Amelia Earhart, Babe Ruth and Adolph Hitler were not even alive when Lumbreras arrived on Aug. 31, 1887, in a small Mexican village. And yet: Do we do nothing? What do we actually say in the face of evil? “I don’t want to have on my conscience that I was complicit in something as horrendous as this simply by being quiet,” is how Cardinal Donald Wuerl, the archbishop

On TV, incompetence is funny, sometimes hilarious. Jackie Gleason made a career of it on the old “Honeymooners” show; Tom Haverford is absurdly incapable on “Parks and Recreation”; and Michael Scott brought the Peter Principle to new heights in “The Office.” But in real life, incompetence can be dangerous, even life-threatening (think a real-life Homer Simpson actually in charge of safety at a nuclear power plant). That’s where America finds itself nearly six years into the presidency of Barack Obama. There’s no question Mr. Obama has all but checked out. Because I am a black conservative, someone wrote asking me this great question. “What is it that compels some black men and women to cling to, and follow people like Sharpton, Jackson, Wright, Obama, Spike Lee, Black Panthers, Holder, etc.?” I have pondered the same question. Some black folks embrace victim status because it provides cover for their laziness and irresponsible lifestyles. Black Judases preach a false, evil gospel of victimhood-ism for profit. Some blacks are racist, pure and simple. I believe that a majority of black Americans simply have not been exposed to unfiltered conservatism – to blacks articulating how blessed they

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) study is now in its fourth year, receiving an additional $670,567 for fiscal year 2014. The project seeks to determine why “nearly three-quarters of adult lesbians overweight or obese,” and why gay males are not. In just two years the project’s budget has nearly doubled, growing from $1.5 million to nearly $3 million today, despite fears that sequestration could jeopardize the project and other NIH funding. I guess he really was multitasking out on the golf course. The President’s team has been hard at work behind the scenes, coming up with a strategy … well, maybe we should say plan, to address the nation’s many challenges. Spurred by President Obama’s climate action plan, the Department of Energy is pumping out new standards for refrigerators, dishwashers, air conditioners, ceiling fans, furnaces, boilers, water heaters, lamps and many more appliances. Between 1970 and 1990, the population of Philadelphia shrank by a quarter, dropping from 1.95 to 1.59 million. Like many American cities, it seemed caught in a downward spiral. Since then – like many American cities – Philadelphia has stabilized. The population now appears to have bottomed out at the millennium, and has been regaining residents over the past decade. But as it rebounds, Philly is becoming a different kind of city. In the two most recent decades, which comprise the bounce of the city’s population curve, owner-occupied housing dropped even more steeply than in the ’70s and ’80s. Between 2000 and

WASHINGTON — The current Congress is on track to be the worst ever at passing laws since modern record-keeping began, with three of its lawmakers failing to introduce a single bill, The Post has learned. The divided House and Senate have managed to pass just 163 laws that garnered President Obama’s signature since the two-year term began in January 2013. At this rate, Congress will have no problem beating the previous record set during the 2011-2013 session in which 284 laws were passed. That was down from 385 laws passed in the 2009-2011 session.
