Issa slams White House over
aide´s defiance of subpoena

Fox News, by Staff

The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee attacked the Obama administration late Tuesday after the White House said a top political aide to the president would defy a subpoena and not appear at a hearing investigating the White House Office of Political Strategy and Outreach. The White House argued that David Simas, the office´s director, is immune from the "extraordinary demand" of being forced to testify before the committee. White House counsel Neil Eggleston said in a letter Tuesday night to Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., that the Simas subpoena "threatens longstanding interests of the executive branch in preserving the

Great news. If an IRS email surfaces addressed to Simas, Obama is now implicated as complicit.

Press is kneepadded, servicing Øbie, while ValJar , Fauxcahontas and Killary cackle over their evil-smelling redistributionist brew. They are all in this together, I am certain. We are SOOO screwed. And the open borders mean we have lost our country to the third world. What the hayell just happened under this regime in 6 years? Who will oppose Øbunghole´s destructive and divisive regime? Hmm???? Perhaps a second look and revision of Our Constitution might be necessary. When the AG looks to hide the illegalities of the pResident rather than to the legalities of WTP then Houston, we´ve got a problem. The AG job description should be more defined? Bahh humbug

Perhaps not. An independent AG would become a permanent Independent Counsel and we all know how that was abused. The President needs to be held accountable. Will there be an election in November? Will it be stolen? Will there be an election in 2016? Will we elect a president of the "original USA order" -- 1789? Will Obama pardon the entire Obama administration on the way out the door? Will Obama pardon himself?

#4 The AG job description is pretty well spelled out. The problem is that this AG, like his boss, Obama, choose to not enforce the laws unless they agree with them or want to. Holder should be impeached, but there is no backbone on the Rep side because the media would crucify them and make it all about racism.

Where´s the howl for justice from the media...?

Circa 1973, per wikipedia and the media outcries every single night on the evening news...

That evening, in an event dubbed the Saturday Night Massacre by journalists, President Nixon ordered Attorney General Elliot Richardson to dismiss Cox.[4] Rather than comply with this order, Attorney General Richardson resigned, leaving his second-in-command, Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus in charge of the Justice Department. Ruckelshaus likewise refused to dismiss Cox, and he, too, resigned. These resignations left Solicitor General Robert Bork as the highest-ranking member of the Justice Department; insisting that he believed the decision unwise but also that somebody had to obey the president´s orders, Bork dismissed Cox. Bork also considered submitting his resignation, but Richardson and Ruckelshaus dissuaded him from resigning, arguing that Bork had to remain in office to ensure continuity of the administration of the Justice Department. Upon being dismissed, Cox stated, "whether ours shall be a government of laws and not of men is now for Congress and ultimately the American people to decide." His successor as special prosecutor was Leon Jaworski, named by Bork.

The dismissal of Cox suggested the use of independent counsel, prosecutors specifically appointed to investigate official misconduct. Ultimately, Congress enacted a law to provide for a procedure appointing independent counsels, a statute that the U.S. Supreme Court upheld in 1986. This statute, which had an expiration date inserted on its original enactment, expired without renewal.

Our Intelligence Director Dismissed ISIS:
Why Does He Still Have a Job?
Fiscal Times, by Andrew L. Peek    Original Article

It is baffling how James Clapper still has a job. In an interview with The Washington Post’s David Ignatius on Wednesday, the Director of National Intelligence admitted that he had completely underestimated ISIS. He didn´t anticipate how fast the Iraqi Army would fall apart, nor the “will to fight” among Islamic State troops. “I didn’t,” he somewhat lamely added, “see that.” By now, most Americans realize ISIS caught the intelligence community by surprise. Clapper and his spies also thought that the Russians wouldn’t openly invade Ukraine, which maybe they actually got right, depending on how “openly” we would say the

President Obama has written five letters to Congress informing lawmakers of American military actions against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. The first four relied entirely on the president´s constitutional authority to conduct foreign policy and command U.S. military forces. In his latest letter Tuesday, however, Obama cited two additional authorities: the authorizations Congress gave George W. Bush to use military force, first after the September 11 attacks and later for the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Obama, of course, was a fierce critic of the Iraq war and has actually advocated repeal of the Iraq authorization — before he

In the course of negotiating their appearance, the fans asked whether they would be confronted by American Indians on the show. The producers said no, and then surprise! WASHINGTON — An Al-Qaeda-connected group that the Obama administration has targeted with airstrikes alongside ISIS was almost totally unknown to the American public until the U.S. started bombing them, though sources say the group has been known to the administration and to Congress for some time. The U.S. claims that Khorasan, an Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group said to be led by an operative named Muhsin al-Fadhli, was a direct threat to the U.S homeland. Little is known about al-Fadhli, though the Department of State says he was based in Iran. But hardly any public information was available about the group before

Persuasion used to matter in politics. A good politician was someone with the inclination — and the skill — to convince people who weren’t among his supporters to endorse his preferred policy or legislation. There are many ways to accomplish this. Lyndon Johnson operated at the retail level, so to speak. Johnson was a master at twisting arms in the Senate, and cajoling members on both sides of the aisle into forming a coalition to pass whatever legislation he wanted. In contrast, Ronald Reagan worked wholesale. He had a genius for convincing millions of voters he was right and — through

President Obama has declared his strategy is to “degrade and defeat” ISIS. Yet he’s hoping to do so by relying on a plan that is ludicrously insufficient. It’s worth noting that the criticism of his approach isn’t being led by Republicans as much as by U.S. military leaders (as this Washington Post story makes clear), by retired generals, and by former Obama defense secretaries like Leon Panetta and Robert Gates. Secretary Panetta told CBS News that ISIS emerged as a threat because the United States pulled out of Iraq too soon and became involved in Syria too late, while Secretary

An exodus of top-level officials from the Department of Homeland Security is undercutting the agency’s ability to stay ahead of a range of emerging threats, including potential terrorist strikes and cyberattacks, according to interviews with current and former officials. Over the past four years, employees have left DHS at a rate nearly twice as fast as in the federal government overall, and the trend is accelerating, according to a review of a federal database. The departures are a result of what employees widely describe as a dysfunctional work environment, abysmal morale, and the lure of private security companies paying top dollar

Beware of the most obvious. The most important angles often lurk below the surface. What struck me about Day 3 coverage of the White House breach was how the intruder had all but been erased from the stories. His name is Omar J. Gonzalez.
