New emergency alert system will give
Obama the power to flip a switch and

The Obama administration quietly announced on Tuesday that it intends to change the way Americans learn about natural disasters and other major emergencies during radio and TV broadcasts, giving the president the ability to flip a switch and address the entire nation at once. The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. Besides all the problems we can foresee with this system (and I have nightmare visions of Obama using a HAL type of voice) what happened to the two-minute warning from the Cold War?

Did ya all know the President of the USA can push the button for nuclear war when he decides all by himself? Check it out for yourself. This is why I am so angry at clueless voters who are not responsible enough to do proper research before voting.

Obama is a nut job who would use this for evil as he does everything else he gets his hands on. He needs to either be in jail or in a psyche ward, but, surely not President. In the past few years we have learned a lot about out black friends and how and what they think. It seems that most have a cult mentality.

David Cameron: he said everything

Uncharacteristically, I´m almost lost for words--or at least for critical words. David Cameron said pretty much everything I wanted him to say in his belter of a conference speech. [Snip] What this amounted to in effect was a picture of a social morality based on rewards for hard work, personal responsibility, pride in your achievements, and true fairness (which is to say, getting "something for something" rather than something for nothing). And, most important, the idea that permitting people to live in permanent dependency was not just a waste of money, but a waste of life.

Pentagon officials are finding it difficult determining how effective US airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria are because of ´significant gaps in intelligence´. Senior current and former US officials have told the Associated Press that American aircraft are running under less restrictive rules than those governing drone strikes in Pakistan and Yemen. Despite this, they are having difficulties determining the effectiveness of the bombing missions targeting Al-Qaeda and ISIS due the lack of intelligence assets on the ground. These assets identify targets before an airstrike and conduct an after action battle damage assessment.

David Cameron today put two major tax cuts at the heart of his bid for re-election, promising to dramatically raise both the amount workers earn before paying income tax and before being dragged into the higher 40p rate. Mr Cameron declared ´I love this country´ as he pleaded for another five years in Downing Street to ´finish the job´ of turning the country around.

The government has awarded £3.2bn of contracts to maintain the Royal Navy’s warships and submarines at the Clyde, Devonport and Portsmouth naval bases, in a move that secures 7,500 jobs. The contracts come amid huge uncertainty for Britain’s shipyards after BAE announced last year it was ending shipbuilding at Portsmouth with the loss of 900 jobs and cutting a further 800 across Scotland. Well, that didn’t take long. Just two weeks into the new season of “The View,” co-hosts Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg tore into each other during a commercial break — in front of their stunned studio audience. The spat erupted Thursday after Goldberg interrupted O’Donnell to go to a commercial break before the mother of five was finished commenting in a “Hot Topic” discussion about spanking children on the ABC gabfest. O’Donnell refuses to wear an earpiece to stay in contact with producers while the live show is airing, so she had no clue it was time to stop talking.

Jerry Brown on Tuesday signed legislation imposing the nation's first statewide ban on single-use plastic bags, driven to action by a buildup of litter and damage to aquatic ecosystems. A national coalition of plastic bag manufacturers immediately said it would seek a voter referendum to repeal the law, which is scheduled to take effect in July 2015. Under SB270, plastic bags will be phased out of large grocery stores starting next summer and convenience stores and pharmacies in 2016. The law allows grocers to charge a fee of at least 10 cents for using paper bags. State Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Los Angeles,

The sympathetic news media is avoiding mentioning his name, instead they are blaming the lack of a football intro for the massive collapse in ratings Sunday night for President Barack Obama’s appearance on CBS’ 60 Minutes. Americans turned away from watching Obama even though he was being interviewed about the nation’s new war on ISIS. For example, Deadline Hollywood didn’t even mention Obama’s 60 Minutes interview when reporting on the drop in viewers. “With no football lead-in, CBS’ Sunday lineup fell from last week. As expected, the drop was steepest at 7 PM, with 60 Minutes (1.1) off by 69%

Video of Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky leaving the hospital with their newborn daughter apparently reminds CNN anchor Erin Burnett of when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went before cameras outside a London hospital before taking home their newborn son Prince George last year. Burnett made the remark towards the end of her program while narrating video footage of the couple exiting a New York City hospital with Bill and Hillary Clinton just steps behind them. Of course when William and Kate left the hospital with their bundle of joy, the proud royal parents had the moment to themselves, not
