New emergency alert system will give
Obama the power to flip a switch and
address the entire nation at once

Daily Mail [UK], by David Martosko

The Obama administration quietly announced on Tuesday that it intends to change the way Americans learn about natural disasters and other major emergencies during radio and TV broadcasts, giving the president the ability to flip a switch and address the entire nation at once. The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. Besides all the problems we can foresee with this system (and I have nightmare visions of Obama using a HAL type of voice) what happened to the two-minute warning from the Cold War?

Did ya all know the President of the USA can push the button for nuclear war when he decides all by himself? Check it out for yourself. This is why I am so angry at clueless voters who are not responsible enough to do proper research before voting.

Obama is a nut job who would use this for evil as he does everything else he gets his hands on. He needs to either be in jail or in a psyche ward, but, surely not President. In the past few years we have learned a lot about out black friends and how and what they think. It seems that most have a cult mentality.

Sweden to become first European

STOCKHOLM - Sweden´s new center-left government will recognize the state of Palestine in a move that will make it the first major European country to take the step, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said on Friday. The UN General Assembly approved the de facto recognition of the sovereign state of Palestine in 2012 but the European Union and most EU countries, have yet to give official recognition. "The conflict between Israel and Palestine can only be solved with a two-state solution, negotiated in accordance with international law," Lofven said during his inaugural address in parliament.

Norway’s ruling Conservative Party has voted to withdraw their country’s bid from hosting the 2022 Olympics and providing financial guarantees, evaluating the games to be too costly. Prime Minister Erna Solberg commented, “We have received sound advice and there is no reason not to follow it. Jeremy Clarkson has told how he and his Top Gear team were forced to flee Argentina under police escort as furious thugs tried to ´kill´ them. Rock-throwing protesters vowed to ´barbecue´ the controversial motoring show host after a row over the star´s number plate boiled over. Trouble erupted after a photo of Clarkson, 54, driving a Porsche with the number plate H982 FKL, circulated online, enraging Falklands War veterans who claimed it referred to the 1982 conflict. The presenter yesterday said the violent protest was ´state-organised´ accusing the Argentinians of taking advantage of their visit for ´political capital´.

I’m always sceptical when I hear scare-mongering claims about diseases. From bird flu to SARS, we’re repeatedly told it’s going to be the new Plague that will wipe everyone out and then…it doesn’t. Probably because the scare-mongering itself makes people take it seriously enough to prevent it spreading. But there is something very sinister and frightening about this Ebola outbreak, which has so far infected 7,100 and killed 3,300. [Snip] It’s hard to think of a more cack-handed, dangerously inept response than what transpired in Dallas. Consider what we now know: Thomas Eric Duncan, a 42-year-old Liberian citizen, had been

Health experts assembled by the White House conceded on Friday that a second case of Ebola could be identified in the U.S. But they defiantly insisted that the epidemic plaguing western Africa will not rise to the level of a major American outbreak. Meghan McCain joined the dog pile on the Secret Service this week, saying she’s had “nothing but horrible experiences" with the agency and likening the agents to “glorified mall cops.” The 29-year-old author and television personality, who is also the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), opened up on Pivot’s “TakePart Live” about some of her interactions with the Secret Service. "I have nothing but horrible experiences with the Secret Service,” McCain said. “One of my friends called them glorified mall cops and I don´t think that´s terribly far off. I found them cliquey. WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in

The strictest-of-its-kind Texas law requires abortion providers to build hospital-grade facilities and obtain sometimes impossible-to-get hospital admitting privileges. After signed into law last year by Gov. Rick Perry (R), the law forced most of the 41 clinics operating to close. Thursday’s ruling wiped out a brief victory this summer for abortion rights proponents,

Go to a grocery store in California and buy all the milk, eggs and vegetables you want. But there’s one thing you won’t find at the checkout line, beginning July 1, 2015: Plastic bags to carry your stuff home. Gov. Jerry Brown (D) on Tuesday signed into law a ban on single-use plastic bags, making California the first state to prohibit stores from using the ubiquitous carry-alls. Shoppers will be charged 10 cents for every paper bag and heavy-duty plastic bag they use. “This bill is a step in the right direction,” Brown said in a press release announcing his approval. “It
