Mrs. Obama Declares
War on Chick-fil-A

Townhall, by Todd Starnes

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 7/15/2014 12:55:08 PM

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

Comments:
I utterly despise that hateful woman as much as her despicable husband. Queen Mooch indeed.

Why are public schools so poorly run that they have to sell fast food in order to meet basic expenditures? What business is it of the first "lady" to meddle in local affairs? Why does the GOP House keep funding these power grabs?

She´s singled them out because the company is owned by observant Christians. This smacks of retaliation for the left´s Hobby Lobby defeat.
The company ought to sue her personally since she is not a government officer.

How come we have a right to body autonomy as far as reproduction rights are concerned ... yet they think they have a right to tell us what we can/should or cannot/should not eat?

And ... what about all that certain segment of society that particularly likes fried chicken? Could this be considered a racial war?

Hey Socastee High, how about ignoring the ruling, telling the federal overlords to get lost, and managing the food as best you know how without any useless interference from Washington. If you don´t have the guts to do that, then simply cut the sandwiches in half and sell them for half price, limit 4 to a customer. Problem solved.

FTA, "there’s another consequence to the Chick-fil-A ban – all the profits funded field trips for the school’s special education students.

“The Chick-fil-A profits went directly to the field trips,” the principal told the newspaper. “We’ve got to raise some money, but we will figure something out.”

Maybe they could get the math students to figure out how many carrot sticks they’ll have to sell to send the youngsters to Six Flags."

School lunches and snacks should be decided by LOCAL folks, not some unelected tyrant with champagne and caviar tastes for herself but bottled water and air-dried kale chips for school kids. Good grief, parents, fight back!

Just as with Hobby Lobby, this is an attack on a Christian business. Chick-fil-A is not open on Sundays, is very charitable in their communities, started by a wonderful Christian family. Michelle needs to be told to sit down and mind her knitting...she has no authority to tell ANTONE what or where to eat.

The House made a bipartisan demand Friday that Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson conduct a comprehensive review of the Secret Service and not just a probe of how they reacted to last month’s fence jumper. WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in

Go to a grocery store in California and buy all the milk, eggs and vegetables you want. But there’s one thing you won’t find at the checkout line, beginning July 1, 2015: Plastic bags to carry your stuff home. Gov. Jerry Brown (D) on Tuesday signed into law a ban on single-use plastic bags, making California the first state to prohibit stores from using the ubiquitous carry-alls. Shoppers will be charged 10 cents for every paper bag and heavy-duty plastic bag they use. “This bill is a step in the right direction,” Brown said in a press release announcing his approval. “It

The hawkish Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says he is thinking about running for president in 2016. In an interview with Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard, the senator, running for re-election to the Senate this year, said: “If I get through my general election, if nobody steps up in the presidential mix, if nobody’s out there talking — me and McCain have been talking — I may just jump in to get to make these arguments,” Graham said. Graham, 59, also dismissed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, 43, as a presidential candidate, saying he is too young. “He’s a good

"There´s a wonderful phrase that was first used by Alexis de Tocqueville, who came to the United States in the very early 1930s and traveled around our country," said Hillary Clinton, a probable 2016 presidential candidate. "And he was so amazed at how Americans organized themselves -- you know, coming from aristocratic Europe, which was totally top-down and hierarchical -- he couldn´t believe how many of us were joiners.
