Health survey gives government

Less than 3 percent of the U.S. population identify themselves as gay, lesbian or bisexual, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Tuesday in the first large-scale government survey measuring Americans’ sexual orientation. The National Health Interview Survey, which is the government’s premier tool for annually assessing Americans’ health and behaviors, found that 1.6 percent of adults self-identify as gay or lesbian, and 0.7 percent consider themselves bisexual. The overwhelming majority of adults, 96.6 percent, labeled themselves as straight in the 2013 survey. An additional 1.1 percent declined to answer, responded “I don’t know the answer” or said they were “something

Unfortunately, that 3% gravitates to media/acting jobs where they convince themselves and others that they´re in the majority.

Most of the posters here have been saying for years that homosexuals make up less than 5% of the population.

It turns out that we were being "liberal" in our estimation.

How can such a tiny minority of sexual deviants cause such destructive upheaval to our entire society???

We all know, don´t we, that these results are flawed because rabid GOP conservatives across the country have made those who are different feel unwanted and deviant in the schools and communities, therefore these gays/lesbians/bisexual/transgender are afraid to self-identify./s

Just wait. The excuses are coming.

The exact stable number reported by scientists the world over is 1.4% of sexually active adult males. The lesbian number tends to be more diffused and difficult to pin down. The CDC in Atlanta has verified that this percentage corresponds exactly with the number of HIV positive and full blown AIDS sufferers in the US. For political reasons Libs have been pushing a number close to 10%. The justification being that the rest are homosexual (or gay as they put it) but just don´t know it yet! When my sons were in high school their teachers were pushing this garbage on them.

Roughly the same percentage of the population believes they have been abducted by aliens, but they don´t get special "rights", and they get little attention in part because they don´t tend to congregate together,
don´t have parades, and I don´t think they have a flag to fly over U.S. embassies.

Last week, according to the latest figures from the Nielsen BookScan, Ben Carson‘s memoir “One Nation” outsold Hillary Clinton‘s book Hard Choices by a whopping 60%. Figures provided to The Daily Caller indicated that Carson’s book, which was released a week before Hard Choices, sold roughly 16,000 copies to Clinton’s 10,000. At this point, total sales of Carson’s book trail Hillary’s by only 9,000 copies — which is not that much, considering Hard Choices shipped a million books to stores in the first place. Both authors are widely viewed to be possible presidential contenders in 2016, which will undoubtedly lead to pundit-class

Moments of clarity often come when you least expect them. In a speech to contributors last week in Seattle, Barack Obama made the case that his presidency has made America better. In most respects, it was precisely the kind of political pablum you’d expect from a president who seems more concerned with legacy-polishing than governing. He ticked off his accomplishments, a list that was equal parts premature celebration (deficit reduction), hyperbole (Obamacare), and borrowed glory (rising college attendance, a strong stock market, increased energy production). Even if few in this fawning crowd were going to question him, circumstances required the president

Among its many virtues and drawbacks, social media may be one of the most effective tools ever invented to assist journalists in harming their careers. Since the advent of Twitter, Facebook and other instantaneous digital platforms, reporters have lost their jobs, been suspended or been reassigned after posting things deemed inappropriate by readers, viewers and — most important — their bosses. The objectionable posts have usually called into question the journalists’ ability to remain neutral and fair to both sides of any story. The latest casualty: CNN correspondent Diana Magnay, who last week stirred criticism for a tweet about a group of

President Barack Obama insisted for years that he had absolutely no legal authority — none whatsoever, zero, zilch — to slow deportations on a broad scale. Forget everything he’s said. Obama’s pledge to use his executive powers by the end of the summer marked both a dramatic reversal in rhetoric and a major strategic shift on immigration. The president is no longer emphasizing his own powerlessness but rather his determination “to fix as much of our immigration system as I can on my own, without Congress.”

President Obama insists on flirting with impeachment even as House Republican leaders insist there’s no such possibility. Obama uses a passive-aggressive strategy that can be judged as a political maneuver, a personality disorder, or both. Secure in the knowledge that impeachment is not the same as removal from office, Mr. Obama brings up the topic on his own and with bold defiance. Martyrdom goes well with a Messiah complex and Mr. Obama’s speeches are a non-stop litany of depicting himself as a victim of Republicans.
