Kerry-brokered plan to end Afghanistan
election crisis has stalled

KABUL – Just days after Secretary of State John F. Kerry arrived in Kabul to broker an end to Afghanistan’s elections impasse — a weeks-long crisis that had threatened to split the country — disagreements among the two rival presidential candidates over how to proceed are already threatening to collapse the historic deal. Confusion over whether Afghan or international institutions will lead the inspection of 8.1 million votes cast in a June 14 runoff that was marred by widespread fraud has stalled the implementation of the Kerry-sponsored agreement and contributed to a renewed atmosphere of distrust between the two sides. I´d actually respect this man more if he just flew around the world, got drunk and did photo-ops for four years like Hillary did. . . . . . and the scary thing is that I think he actually was entertaining thoughts of making another run for the White House based on his record as Sec. of State.

No problemo, he can just pop over to Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Israel, maybe throw in Libya and Ukraine if he has some time, and get them sorted out.

He speaks French and has gravitas, and served in Viet Nam donchaknow.

So simple to fix.

Just take them all windsurfing in the waters off the Vineyard. Then some shrimp cocktail and chablis.

Problem solved.

Kerry lives in his own self-aggrandizing world where he is completely detached from reality and how totally useless he is. However, he is successful at marrying very wealthy women.

Took just days for Kerry to fail and make the situation worse. I´m more inclined to believe he was a failure before he was even born.

The United States informed Iran in advance of its intention to strike Islamic State militants in Syria and told Tehran that it would not target the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a senior Iranian official told Reuters. "Iran was concerned about Assad´s position and his government being weakened in case of any action against IS (Islamic State) in Syria and brought this issue up in meetings with Americans," a senior Iranian official said on condition of anonymity. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said those pushing for her to retire are “misguided,” arguing that President Obama could not appoint a similar replacement to the bench in an interview published Tuesday. Ginsburg, at 81, is the oldest member of the Court. Some on the left have suggested that she might retire while Obama is in office, to guarantee that a Democratic president could appoint her successor. Ginsburg has said before that she is "likely to remain for a while," but offered insight on her reasoning in an interview with Elle magazine. "[A]nybody who thinks that if I step

Hundreds of environmentalists plan to "shut down" the New York Stock Exchange later Tuesday to protest the relationship between global warming and Big Business. Scores of protesters had already gathered in lower Manhattan early Tuesday for an event dubbed #FloodWallStreet. They planned to march a few blocks north to Wall Street and stage a "sit-in" until forced to leave. Their beef: the fossil fuels industry and other companies are profiting at the expense of the environment. The activists said they were willing to be arrested to drive home the link between global capitalism and worsening climate change.

President Barack Obama, stumping for the Democrats ahead of November´s congressional elections, has twice invoked Ronald Reagan´s seminal campaign question: "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" Framing the debate like that helped Reagan twice - in 1980 when he beat incumbent Jimmy Carter, and then again in 1984 when he won re-election during an economic upswing. But a similar message has failed to resonate for Obama primarily for one reason: while he stresses the economy has improved in almost every aspect on his watch, average family incomes have slipped. President Obama on Wednesday delivered a speech at the United Nations filled with his usual soaring rhetoric of global collectivism and the importance of “international norms.” But the president also displayed a shocking naivete about global affairs, religion, Islam — a Pollyannaish interpretation on the state of the world and America’s role in it. Although Mr. Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize just eight months into office, the president made his annual trip to the ineffectual world council to deliver a call to war. “Ladies and gentlemen, we come together at a crossroads between war and peace,

Normally, no one would care that in a recent Atlantic essay — “Why I Hope to Die at 75” — 57-year-old Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel argued that living to be 75 years old was long enough for anyone. After 75, Emanuel suggests, “We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.” But Emanuel is no garden-variety crackpot. Nor is he a wannabe science-fiction writer dreaming of a centrally planned planet of robust youthful humanoids. Even though Republicans may take back the Senate by running against amnesty, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush pushed amnesty legislation while stumping for North Carolina Republican Senate candidate Thom Tillis on Wednesday. Bush, according to the New York Times, reportedly said that comprehensive immigration reform "will restore and sustain economic growth for this country." And even though a recent Gallup poll found that illegal immigration is now the top concern among Republicans, Bush said that if immigration reform is "framed in that way, I don’t think there’s a big debate in the Republican Party about the need to do this."
