Massachusetts city ends contract

Salem, Massachusetts, put an end to a long-time contract with the Christian-based Gordon College after administrators refused to cave to the gay-rights movement and remove a ban on “homosexual behavior” among students and staff. (Snip) The contract, in place since 2008, was actually due to wrap in August, but Salem officials decided to use the opt-out clause and exit the agreement early, The Blaze reported. “The city had the option of opting out early,” Mr. Sweeney told the Christian Post. “When the college became part of a public controversy over attention on longstanding behavioral standards we have as a private Christian institution,

Hobby Lobby decision has given other institutions and workplaces the desire to take on the homosexual challenges seeking to destroy our way of life. Those of US who believe know that we´re not put on Earth to "get along," but rather to follow His Word.

“The city does not contract with private parties that willfully discriminate on the basis of age, ancestry, color, disability, family status, gender identity or expression, marital status, military status, national origin, race, religion sex or sexual orientation,” she said in the Christian Post report.

But ... isn´t the City of Salem discriminating against the College because of their religious beliefs?

Hmmmm.... methinks I smell political posturing and empty gestures, but that would be sooooo unlike liberals to do such things, right? Right?

It’s a Bizarro Cinderella story. Nineteen-year-old Colorado girl, Shannon Conley, meets thirty-two year old Tunisian terrorist online. He asks her to marry him. She enthusiastically accepts and allegedly pledges to devote her life, (between most likely having innumerable babies), to using her nursing skills to bring wounded terrorists back to health. There’s only one little hitch. This April, the U.S. Marshals showed up at Denver International Airport and arrested Miss Conley before she could hop aboard a jet bound for the Middle East. Miss Conley lived only a few miles down the road from me. She attended our local high schools,

A special intelligence adviser to Army Gen. David H. Petraeus during the 2007 troop surge says the terrorist leader now ruling over large swaths of Iraq and forcing Christians to convert to Islam has long been the most elusive big game for the U.S. “We had at least three times when we thought we killed [Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi],” said retired Army Col. Derek Harvey. “At least three times.” As an intelligence officer, Mr. Harvey acquired near-mythical status: He spent two decades studying Iraq, Saddam Hussein’s regime and the complex tribal networks that form the country’s political fabric. He had the ear of the top brass.

A hooded figure identifying himself only as Abu Obaida appeared on Palestinian television Sunday night to announce that the group had kidnapped an Israeli soldier. Israeli military experts immediately disputed the report. The Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed Sunday night that they had captured an Israeli soldier named Shaul Aron. The group released his ID number and photos as evidence of his capture. The soldier was named as 21-year-old Shaul Aron, a Golani brigade infantryman. Sky News has apologised after going through the luggage of passengers killed aboard MH17 live on air. Colin Brazier pulled the camera into one of the many suitcases that remain strewn across the scene of the crash in eastern Ukraine as the 298 dead bodies are moved into morgues. He then picked up and surveyed items one by one - before censoring himself, saying: ´We shouldn´t really be doing this I suppose.´ The broadcast sparked outrage on Twitter, with viewers sharing a clip of it hundreds of times. Media professor Joe Watson branded the broadcast a ´horrible moment for journalism´.

Politically speaking, the low point in how President Obama’s approach to foreign policy is perceived may have been in 2011 when an advisor described his actions in Libya, where a coalition was trying to oust dictator Muammar Qaddafi, as “leading from behind.” Most Americans aren’t used to hearing that. Even though they’re weary of war, either they want a more assertive United States, it seems, or the kind of non-interventionist approach favored by Sen. Rand Paul. “Leading from behind” sounds so … unexceptional. Today, Obama faces two immediate and potentially very dangerous situations abroad: the downing of a

It is at times like these, when he is pushed kicking and screaming into the crucible, that Obama’s callowness shows. For his supporters, that jejune, jocular air has been a plus for almost six years. For the rest of us, it has served as a liability and an irritation. Yesterday, it became a wholesale embarrassment. On the perpetual-campaign trail, the pattern is familiar. At a political event in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday, President Obama devoted only 40 seconds to the shooting down of the Malaysian airline, his first statement to the world following the news. His emotionless reference to the attack as ‘a terrible tragedy’ seemed disconnected from the horrific moment, particularly as he immediately reverted to script to praise his administration and criticise Republicans. It was a far cry from President Reagan’s 1983 fierce denunciation of the Soviet shooting down of a Korean airliner as a ‘crime against humanity’.
