Israel has accepted an Egyptian truce proposal for the conflict with Gaza. Hamas, which controls Gaza, has not formally responded. But its armed wing has rejected the plan as a "surrender". Under the terms, the ceasefire should begin immediately, followed by a series of meetings in Cairo with high-level delegations from both sides. Palestinian officials say at least 192 people have been killed by Israeli air strikes launched eight days ago to stop militants firing rockets into Israel. There have been no Israeli air strikes into Gaza since the 09:00 ( 06:00 GMT) truce, but at least one rocket has

Although Israel has stopped its air strikes, a BBC Breaking News bulletin reports a rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel one hour after the ceasefire began.

The Israeli´s say Hamas still has 6,000 more rockets. Perhaps they need time to train more children to shoot them.

Those who hate Christians, Jews and the Holy Trinity, won´t be happy till their dreams of wiping us all out come to pass. Sorry folks but those who serve Satan want this. This is how you know the difference between the children of God and the children of Satan. Ye shall know them by their fruit.

A U.S. senator warned on Thursday that ISIS, the militant terror group sweeping across Iraq, aims to destroy an American population center and is working on a plan to do it. ´They´re crazy out there and they´re rapidly developing a method of blowing up a major U.S. city and people just can´t believe that´s happening,´ Republican Sen. The White House upped the ante Friday on the terrorist Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), declaring that the videotaped beheading of American photojournalist James Foley is ´a terrorist attack´--an admission that brought a stern ultimatum from a senior Republican in Congress. The so-called Arab Spring has turned out to be a disaster. The promise of democracy and renewal has fallen through almost everywhere. Where has it prospered? Perhaps only in Tunisia, the nation where it began. Elsewhere the resultant chaos has seen a vicious group of jihadists stake its claim in the Middle East while the West has watched, seemingly paralysed. Until this week, that is, when the American journalist James Foley was brutally murdered by these terrorists. Now there is the real possibility of a major escalation in the US air war against Isil. David Ricardo´s Theory of Comparative Advantage has broken down after 200 years, or so I learned at the Lindau forum of Nobel laureates in Bavaria. The theory published in 1817 has been a guiding principle of free trade, taken as a given by every student of economics in the modern era. It has served us well, but just as Newton´s theory of gravity ran into limits and was overtaken by Einstein´s relativity, comparative advantage no longer explains the world. Under Ricardo´s model, inequality was supposed to narrow within countries as globalisation accelerated exponentially in the Nineties. Instead it is getting wider.

Holder, during remarks in Washington, confirmed the "open criminal investigation" into Foley´s beheading, which was recorded and posted online this week.
