This Is What Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s
Life Will Be Like Now

ABC News, by Luis Martinez

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will work a “desk job” now that he has completed his reintegration process and returned to regular duties as an Army soldier, the Army said today. The former Taliban prisoner will be assigned to the headquarters of U.S. Army North at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Bergdahl has been assigned to the command to do administrative duties commensurate with his rank as a sergeant, Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren said. “To use a slang term, he’ll be working a desk job,” Warren added. Bergdahl, 28, will be living in the noncommissioned barracks at Fort Sam Houston. “Sgt.

Perhaps Hussein will invite the Bergdahl family back to our White House to feel out the poor darling desertor´s Mommy.

Bergdahl and Hussein are giving a bad name to all the desertors we have shot back when men were men.o

In 2009 it was found that Bergdahl had voluntarily left his post but they said they could not determine his intent. Did they think he was going to the Seven Eleven to get some cigarettes? He left his post because he wanted to leave. He let down his fellow soldiers. He put them in harm´s way when they were forced to look for him with some paying the ultimate price. In my opinion for that reason alone, he should not be allowed any freedom of movement. Families are without their loved ones because of his selfish act. When the military can´t even acknowledge that this guy deserted, they are in deep denial and political correctness has blinded them to the truth.

Usually I need some hard evidence before I pronounce any kind of judgment on anyone. This time I´m going by gut instinct. And I say Obama and Co. are ordering this man to be treated as described because they know it will infuriate People Like Us. As a side benefit, it offers some distraction from Benghazi, illegal immigration, IRS, NSA, plus M-I-C, K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E.

Yes, I deeply resent the money it costs us, the lack of a courtmartial and, definitely not least, the brave young lives he squandered via his comrades searching for him. However, I´m going to ignore all that because there are far worse things in need of attention right now and we have no idea what the Fresh Hell du Jour will be.

If a lot of this article sounds strangely familiar, in many places it is the same wording we´ve seen in others during the last day or so. Apparently the Army issued a release on what they wanted us to know about Bergdahl´s present situation.

As Charles Krauthammer said yesterday, there are regulations for handling a case like this one. If the Amy follows them, without outside interference, we should expect it to play out to its appropriate end. Most of us (and I imagine Dr. K as well) wonder a lot about that "outside interference" that could come into play.

They can´t transition Bergdahl back to a combat arms unit that has served in Afghanistan, the members of which you can bet consider Bergdahl to be a deserter, who is responsible for a number of US soldiers being killed and wounded while looking for him after he deserted from his unit on the battlefield in Afghanistan. If they did that, the chances are very good that Bergdahl would become a casualty of "friendly" fire.

So begins the next chapter in the "life story" of the grand adventures of the now infamous Bowe Bergdahl.

#4, sadly, I agree about this being another goading to infuriate PLU. There have been many since Obama took office, but the overall appearance of incompetence by this administration caused some to question whether the actions were deliberate or dimwitted. The incident with the two Marines in full dress uniform ordered to hold umbrellas over Obama and the Turkish Prime Minister at an outdoor press conference in the rain caused many more to believe his actions reflected disdain and mockery. That number has likely grown since then.

The shock that a POTUS would act in such a manner has faded now. Worse things have happened and are happening, and we indeed "have no idea what the Fresh Hell du Jour will be".

Will Bergdahl have to provide his own kORAN and prayer rug, or will the Army provide nice new ones from the Gitmo gift shop? Does he get to pencil in his five daily prayer times as he wishes? Will he be given adequate time to prepare for his role as keynote speaker at the next Dem convention?

So many issues.

State Dept. Backtracks After Kerry

Lawmakers came out swinging on Thursday afternoon after the State Department issued a blanket denial regarding statements that Secretary of State John Kerry made to members of Congress earlier that morning about the potential need for new sanctions on Iran. Kerry was widely reported to have told a group of Jewish lawmakers Thursday morning that the administration is open to a new sanctions bill, as news emerged from Vienna that U.S. negotiators would likely be unable to force concessions from Tehran before the July 20 deadline for nuclear talks. The administration’s narrative—which has long held that new pressure on Iran is not

It was Christie´s first visit to the caucus state in over two and a half years, and he unleashed his charms at GOP fundraisers and on Hawkeye locals, assuring them, “I will be back a lot.” In Marion, at

That noisy flutter above the rooftops is the sound of chickens coming home, trying to find a place on the crowded Democratic roost. Chaos on the border grows noisier, with a backlash in unexpected places: The governor of Connecticut, a Democrat and a fully credentialed liberal, tells President Obama to keep his children’s crusade out of liberal, nice, compassionate Connecticut. The ambitious governor of Maryland tells the president, his great friend, that enough is enough, he agrees it’s sad what’s happening with the children, but the solution is not in his backyard. Hundreds of rallies are scheduled across the nation this weekend.

Though facts on the downing of the Malaysian Airlines flight over eastern Ukraine remain hard to pin down, the event could easily end up being a game-changer. While it’s impossible to rule out that the Ukrainian or Russian militaries are responsible for the tragedy, the rebels have been the ones bringing down Ukrainian military aircraft throughout the course of the conflict—with a marked uptick in attacks just this week. Radio chatter leaked by Kiev, purportedly between rebel commanders and their Russian intelligence handlers, seems to indicate that rebels brought down the plane thinking it belonged to the Ukrainian military:

With House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., shooting down a bipartisan bill to address the crisis of unaccompanied children crossing the southern border Wednesday, it looks increasingly likely Congress might wind up at an impasse just before their five-week summer recess. Until now, Pelosi had said that potential changes to a 2008 law that prevents speedy deportations of unaccompanied children from countries other than Mexico and Canada was not a "deal breaker" for Democrats. That´s what two Texas lawmakers, Republican Sen. John Cornyn and Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, are aiming to do with their bill that would mandate the same

The reluctance of Hamas’s “military wing”—a misnomer for the more extreme elements of its extremist leadership—to accept the cease-fire designed by Egypt is, well, logical. Let’s admit it. They do not wish to accept defeat, and the Egyptian terms are a defeat for Hamas. By attacking Israel, what has Hamas wrought? Considerable damage was done to Gaza by Israeli air power, and Gazans will be picking up the pieces for months if not longer. But Hamas proved unable to kill one single Israeli with its hundreds of rockets, and all its special tricks—tunnels, longer-range rockets, a drone—also failed. Nor could
