Obama at Iftar: ‘We Welcome That Debate’

President Obama told guests at the White House’s annual Iftar dinner tonight that “further escalation” in the Middle East “benefits no one, least of all the Israeli and the Palestinian people.” Faced with criticism from some Arab and Muslim activists who think he has been too friendly toward the Israeli side, Obama addressed the conflict near the end of his comments, which largely honored “the traditions of one of the world’s great faiths.” “For all of us, whatever our faiths, Ramadan is a reminder of just how much we share. He couldn´t have made it any clearer... you´re right, send the Jews to the ovens.

Doesn´t he know that Israel is a free country and they have nukes. Probably enough to send most Muslim states back to the stone age. Don´t go down this path too far. The Jewish people are survivors.

“For all of us, whatever our faiths, Ramadan is a reminder of just how much we share. The values of peace and charity, the importance of family and community — these are universal values. The command to love one another, to uphold justice, and to care for the least among us — these are common threads in our faith traditions,” Obama said.

I have no problem with the above. None of it is achieved by bigger government. In fact, big government is antithetical to this.

I ignore and am highly offended when any American politician dares to lecture us about Muslim traditions and values! We should all be offended and say so. This country was built on Judeo-Christian principles - FACT. Our roots, who we are, has zip, zero to do with Islam. Just because we have good people here who happen to be Muslim does not change our history. Shut up Ibama.

America has been at war with Islam since the beginning.
Iftar dinner in the WH is an abomination -especially when the Islamist savages are attacking Israel.
We are a Judeo Christian nation and the imposter in the WH needs to be exposed- a fraud does not need to be impeached- only exposed.
Di Feinstein and the Dems vouched for this fraud- they are responsible.
The invasion of the illegals - the WH imposter is the illegal in chief - how else to explain Benghazi?
Would an American POTUS have allowed this to happen?
Would an American POTUS have LIED to the families of the murdered victims?
Would an American POTUS gone off to a fundraiser in Las Vegas the next day?

Barry´s debate goes something like this: Bibi, give up all your land, kiss every Palestinian arse, then remove yourself and everyone else to the new and improved ovens.

President Obama’s authorization of air strikes in Iraq has triggered unease among high-level former U.S. officials who say the administration still lacks a coherent strategy for beating back the growing al Qaeda-inspired militancy in the war-torn nation. Retired Army Lt. Gen. James M. Dubik told The Washington Times that the strikes Friday against artillery and mortar positions of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were “necessary but not sufficient” to seriously confront threat now posed to the region and to the wider world. “There needs to be be a more comprehensive strategy rooted in the security interests

PRESIDENT OBAMA was right to order military action to prevent a potential genocide in northern Iraq and to stop forces of the al-Qaeda-derived Islamic State from advancing on Baghdad or the Kurdish capital of Irbil. However, the steps the president authorized on Thursday amount to more of his administration’s half-measures, narrowly tailored to this week’s emergency and unconnected to any coherent strategy to address the conflagration spreading across the Middle East. While U.S. airstrikes and drops of supplies may prevent the terrorist forces from massacring the Yazidi sect or toppling the pro-Western regime in Kurdistan, Mr. Obama lacks a plausible

And so we come full circle. Nearly three years since Barack Obama decided to trade defeat for victory in Iraq by allowing his feckless vice president to fail to “negotiate” a status-of-forces agreement with the Iraqi government he did not really wish to have—since the president wanted to leave, leave, leave, as he had said he would do in 2007—circumstances of the simplest human decency have compelled him to commit U.S. forces to stave off the genocide of the Yazidi sect in Iraq. He is not responsible for the monstrous actions of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria—in no

Throngs of Secret Service agents are always on watch for suspicious packages near the White House gates, and anyone who might be looking to infiltrate the grounds. But Thursday night, they had a slightly smaller-scale security breach to contend with: a toddler who squeezed through the fence in the front of the residence. The brief kerfuffle as agents scrambled to intercept the pint-sized intruder confirms what most people know: toddlers are sneaky, and fast. This one was promptly returned to his parents. The little guy didn´t get in any trouble -- at least, not with the feds. And he was

The United States dropped food and other supplies by air to besieged Iraqi civilians Thursday and President Obama authorized possible airstrikes against Sunni Muslim extremists who punctured Kurdish defenses in a powerful offensive in northern Iraq. Obama, in a late-night statement delivered at the White House, said that strikes would be launched against extremist convoys “should they move toward” the Kurdish capital of Irbil. “We intend to take action if they threaten our facilities anywhere in Iraq .?.?. including Irbil and Baghdad,” he said. The increasingly dire straits of refugees in the Kurdish region of Iraq, amid startling gains by Islamist forces there, led President Obama to approve humanitarian airdrops and have propelled the administration into new and urgent consideration of a military intervention it has studiously avoided so far. The lightning advance of the Islamic State militant group, south from the northwest city of Mosul to within 60 miles of Baghdad, has been a source of deep concern since it began two months ago. But the administration worried that interjecting itself into the conflict would inevitably open it to charges of siding with

He also said that the U.S. decided to conduct the drops to the 50,000 or so religious minorities stranded on a mountaintop in the country´s north, who have been

Several months ago, based on several far from minor out-of-the-gate mistakes, I characterized the candidacy of the Democratic Party´s challenger to incumbent Republican Governor John Kasich as "the wreck that is Edward FitzGerald." In the past week, FitzGerald has utterly imploded. The latest revelation Tuesday afternoon, namely that he had "no license to drive at all from 2002 to 2008," leaves one wondering whether his party vetted him at all. Former Cleveland Plain Dealer editorial director Brent Larkin calls this "at or near the top of the list" of "bizarre developments" he´s seen in 45 years of covering politics. Despite

All the while, plaintiffs and their families filled row after row of a huge, ornate courtroom, arms around one another, occasionally shushing babies and listening for their names to be mentioned. For me, watching the Food Network was always an easy escape from the stresses of daily life. There was just something calming about watching chefs in action, and this network had perfected Zen cooking. They’d often use a natural-light filter that made food appear delectable, as if the chefs were blissfully cooking their culinary delights in the sunlit designer kitchen of a tastefully decorated, impeccable home somewhere in the Hamptons. (Well, with Ina Garten, that actually is the case.) I’ve never been anywhere near a sunlit designer kitchen in the Hamptons, but I still found it all oddly soothing. I’d

Adding more farms would contribute to “global warming.” Yeah, he really said that: “Certain agricultural processes can actually release carbon pollution and actually contribute to the problem in the first place. It’s a twisted circle. Always complicated. But we also know that there are certain ways to change that. For example, rather than convert natural areas to new farmland, a process
