Illegal immigrants in D.C. fail
written driver’s test at 80% rate

Washington Times, by Crystal Hill

Four out of five illegal immigrants seeking driver’s licenses under a new D.C. law have failed a written knowledge test — a rocky start to a program that in its first two months has issued 268 licenses, according to city officials. The failure rate of 80 percent compares with a 58 percent failure rate for people seeking traditional driver’s licenses, the Department of Motor Vehicles told a D.C. Council committee. In addition, a check of the DMV website this week shows a massive backlog in appointments required to apply for the District’s “limited-purpose license.” The first available date for an

"Licenses? Licenses? We don´t need no stinking licenses!" :-(

They´ll just drive without. After all, once you break one law, why should you follow any of the others?

Personally, I don´t see why any employer, educational system, or any moral contact (let´s have a shout-out to those preachers who want to have amnesty, etc) would extend trust to already proven felons. But, you know the Dems welcome them open arms to help destroy this country.

Sorry for this diatribe but it hurts to see us under attack with no real actual political opposition. It saddens and angers me.

They drive anyway. All you have to do is read between the lines in all the media reports coming from all over the country concerning all sorts of crimes and motor vehicle accidents to determine that a large number of those incidents were perpetrated by illegal aliens where Americans are killed and seriously injured.

This is insanity of course. They will just drive down to the border and give more illegals a ride to a Red state.

You know Red states should state they do not recognize these licenses and arrest them for illegally driving a car in their state.

Be sure to keep the car and sell it at auction after it has been deloused.

As far back as 1980, the test was given orally in Spanish.

Think that´s bad ? A TSA agent at the airport in Orlando did not recognize a DC driver´s license of a reporter and asked for his passport. Instead of being fired for being ignorant, all of the TSA agents are being retrained to recognize the driver´s license from all 50 states and DC.

Not many MENSA members in DC apparently. The 80% failure for illegals is bad enough but the 58% failures of legals is ridiculous. I wonder what percent of the failures were government employees.

President Obama is promising to reform veterans’ health care and restore “dignity” to the system, the Veterans Affairs office in Philadelphia is apologizing for depicting dissatisfied veterans as Oscar the Grouch in an internal training guide. A slide show presented to VA employees last week portrayed veterans as the grumpy Sesame Street character who lives in a garbage can. The training guide also described veterans as possibly having unrealistic expectations, and advises staffers to apologize for the public “perception” of the scandal-ridden agency. In one slide, a sign reading “CRANKY” hangs from the rim of Oscar’s garbage can. In another,

America’s newest federal agency, charged with regulating financial institutions to prevent another hostile economic downturn, is having troubles regulating hostilities and discrimination among its own employees. Evidence gathered by congressional investigators, internal agency documents and Washington Times interviews with workers discloses scores of cases of U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau employees seeking protection from racially offensive, sexist or discriminatory behavior, including that: • A naturalized U.S. citizen, with more than a decade of service with the U.S. government, was called an “f’ing foreigner” by management. • A department was internally dubbed “the Plantation” because of the number of blacks working

When President Obama on Tuesday highlighted 19 executive actions he says he is taking to improve the mental health of U.S. troops and veterans, one of them centered on a particularly novel effort: The development of new computer chips designed to modulate the nervous system to help with everything from arthritis to post-traumatic stress. The project is headed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, a Pentagon agency that develops a variety of high-tech equipment for the U.S. military. It’s known as the Electrical Prescriptions program, or ElectRx (pronounced “electrics”). Program officials say the goal is to develop a technology

Both political parties are in a state of high anxiety about the possibility that President Obama will allow millions of illegal immigrants to remain in the country, fearing that White House action on the issue could change the course of November’s midterm elections. In the past few days, Democratic candidates in nearly every closely fought Senate race have criticized the idea of aggressive action by Obama. Some strategists say privately that it would signal that he has written off the Democrats’ prospects for retaining control of the chamber, deciding to focus on securing his legacy instead. Back in the 1980s, the Democratic Party media dubbed Ronald Reagan the “Teflon President.” By this, they meant that their false, dishonest and trivial attacks on Reagan didn’t sway the public, which appreciated the most meteoric economic recovery in modern history and restoration of America’s status as not just a great power, but a competent one. Something quite different is happening with Barack Obama. By any possible measure, he has been an awful president. His administration has been good for hedge fund managers and “green” energy scammers, but disastrous for working class Americans, especially African-Americans. Median income and household wealth are

The long-term ceasefire that took effect Tuesday, after a surprise Egyptian-brokered agreement between Israel and Hamas, is being hailed by the terror group as a "victory." In this case, the claim is more than propaganda. According to the details of the agreement, the Gaza border crossings are to be opened, the fishing zone is to be widened, and talks are to commence soon about air and sea ports. No wonder half Israel´s Cabinet is opposed. Israel certainly has achieved military gains. Runaway growth in the emission of greenhouse gases is swamping all political efforts to deal with the problem, raising the risk of “severe, pervasive and irreversible impacts” over the coming decades, according to a draft of a major new United Nations report. Global warming is already cutting grain production by several percentage points, the report found, and that could grow much worse if emissions continue unchecked. Higher seas, devastating heat waves, torrential rain and other climate extremes are also being felt around the world as a result of human-produced emissions, the draft report said, and those problems are likely to

THE COUNTRY is about to see its fiercest climate-change battle. After years of congressional inaction, President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency is applying new rules to curb greenhouse-gas emissions from cars, trucks and — most controversially — power plants, the biggest national emitters. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has said he will try to restrict the EPA if Republicans take over the Senate. Mr. Obama’s executive actions will be an issue in the 2016 presidential campaign. The EPA has drawn up the best possible policy framework under current law, and it is much better than nothing.
