Canadian Prime Minister
Condemns Obama, West

Breitbart National Security, by Thomas Rose

In a stunning rebuke of President Obama’s tepid calls for Israel to show "restraint" in response to daily rocket fire on Israeli civilian targets by Hamas terror redoubts in Gaza, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, long considered Israel’s best friend and strongest defender, all but condemned President Obama by name for what he regards as Washington’s irresolute support for Israel during its time of grave crisis. In perhaps his most strongly worded statement to date, Prime Minister Harper proclaimed that self defense is "not merely an Israeli right" to be exercised only in the abstract, but an "Israeli obligation" that

Stephen Harper is a born-again Christian and member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, a denomination that believes firmly that God will bless those who support and honor Israel and curse those who don´t. Canada is blessed to have a man of such moral character and vision as Stephen Harper. I wish the U.S. had someone as godly at the helm.

Back in the 1980s, the Democratic Party media dubbed Ronald Reagan the “Teflon President.” By this, they meant that their false, dishonest and trivial attacks on Reagan didn’t sway the public, which appreciated the most meteoric economic recovery in modern history and restoration of America’s status as not just a great power, but a competent one. Something quite different is happening with Barack Obama. By any possible measure, he has been an awful president. His administration has been good for hedge fund managers and “green” energy scammers, but disastrous for working class Americans, especially African-Americans. Median income and household wealth are

The long-term ceasefire that took effect Tuesday, after a surprise Egyptian-brokered agreement between Israel and Hamas, is being hailed by the terror group as a "victory." In this case, the claim is more than propaganda. According to the details of the agreement, the Gaza border crossings are to be opened, the fishing zone is to be widened, and talks are to commence soon about air and sea ports. No wonder half Israel´s Cabinet is opposed. Israel certainly has achieved military gains. It wiped out most of Hamas´s rocket arsenal, and destroyed almost all of its terror tunnels before those could

The U.S. government is tracking and gathering intelligence on as many as 300 Americans who are fighting side by side with the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria and are poised to become a major threat to the homeland, according to senior U.S. officials. Officials say concern is widespread in Washington that radicalized foreign fighters could return to the homeland and commit terrorist attacks with skills acquired overseas, according to officials who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the information. Those concerns were heightened by the disclosure Tuesday that a California man was killed fighting

The Obama administration has ruled out the possibility of coordinating any U.S. airstrikes in Syria with President Bashar al-Assad’s government, forcing U.S. officials to either design a campaign that would evade Syrian air defenses or coordinate it with Assad through a third party. Despite the shared U.S. and Syrian interest in defeating Islamist militants in the region, there will be no cooperation with Assad, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Tuesday. “We’re not going to ask for permission from the Syrian regime,” she said. With top U.S. officials describing the Islamic State militant group as a growing threat to international

Runaway growth in the emission of greenhouse gases is swamping all political efforts to deal with the problem, raising the risk of “severe, pervasive and irreversible impacts” over the coming decades, according to a draft of a major new United Nations report. Global warming is already cutting grain production by several percentage points, the report found, and that could grow much worse if emissions continue unchecked. Higher seas, devastating heat waves, torrential rain and other climate extremes are also being felt around the world as a result of human-produced emissions, the draft report said, and those problems are likely to

THE COUNTRY is about to see its fiercest climate-change battle. After years of congressional inaction, President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency is applying new rules to curb greenhouse-gas emissions from cars, trucks and — most controversially — power plants, the biggest national emitters. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has said he will try to restrict the EPA if Republicans take over the Senate. Mr. Obama’s executive actions will be an issue in the 2016 presidential campaign. The EPA has drawn up the best possible policy framework under current law, and it is much better than nothing. That doesn’t mean that the hostilities have concluded. Not by long shot [see update]. The IDF tweeted on Sunday that terrorists in Gaza had fired more than 135 rockets over a 24-hour span, with the bombardment continuing into today — killing at least one Israeli civilian, and wounding “several others.” Five civilians in Israel have now been murdered by Hamas in this war, which is now 50 days old, including

Having once served a president, I don’t begrudge any president a vacation. There is, in fact, no escape from this relentless job. A change of scenery does not involve a change in responsibilities, or even a release from the essence of the president’s routine. The intelligence briefings stalk him. Presidential respites are measured in hours, not days or weeks — say, a few hours on a golf course. And the public would be selfish and shortsighted to demand those downtime hours, which are necessary for humans to function. The problem for President Obama has come in managing the symbolic aspect

President Obama has authorized the use of drones for surveillance in Syria even as the Assad regime demanded that the U.S. seek permission before launching any airstrikes on its territory against Islamic State targets. A senior U.S. official confirmed to Fox News that Obama this weekend authorized the use of drone surveillance over Syria for the first time. The action is considered the first “intrusive” surveillance by the U.S. in Syria since the country’s civil war began. This differs from protective surveillance, such as the U.S. used in the failed mission to rescue American hostages held in Syria. The authorization was

Democrat Michelle Nunn is running ahead of David Perdue in the race for the U.S. Senate in Georgia. The WSB-TV poll found that Mrs. Nunn has 47 percent to 40 percent edge over Mr. Perdue. The libertarian candidate, Amanda Swafford, received 3 percent, and 10 percent of the respondents were undecided. The winner of the race will replace retiring Sen. Saxby Chambliss. Mrs. Nunn, the daughter of former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn, is seen as one of Democrats best bets to flip control of a GOP-held seat. Republicans need to flip six seats to win back the Senate.

American black people are being lied to and the lies destroy them. They are being lied to by corrupt people like Attorney General Eric Holder and Al Sharpton Jr. and Jesse Jackson and the leftists in our news media. They are being told that their poverty is due to prejudice and that the police are targeting them out of bigotry. They are being told that the dreadful existence of slum life grew out of slavery and is being perpetuated by hatred. None of this is true. Poor black people are poor because they have no family structure and get little education.

FERGUSON, Mo. — It was 1 a.m. and Michael Brown Jr. called his father, his voice trembling. He had seen something overpowering. In the thick gray clouds that lingered from a passing storm this past June, he made out an angel. And he saw Satan chasing the angel and the angel running into the face of God. Mr. Brown was a prankster, so his father and stepmother chuckled at first. “No, no, Dad! When a federal appeals court ruled last month that a seemingly arcane wording flaw in the Affordable Care Act should invalidate a central part of the law, many of those who drafted the statute five years ago reacted with shock and anger. In 2009, they had spent months piecing together a compromise that sought to create a national system of subsidized insurance — but one run by the states. Now, they fear their work could be undone by what some call a "drafting error" and others portray as a political miscalculation. The judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for

Amid the hysteria over the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., it might be lost that most black and white Americans believe they’re not out to get each other. A new Pew Research survey shows that 75 percent of whites and 64 percent of blacks say their groups get along together “pretty well” if not “very well.” It’s a bleaker view for Hispanics, 53 percent of whom say the same. Ferguson fell into the national media spotlight on Aug. 9 when Brown, who was unarmed and black,” was shot dead by Darren Wilson, a white police officer. A St. Louis grand jury is currently deliberating whether to charge Wilson of a crime.
