Krauthammer vs. Kirsten Powers
on Border Crisis: "There Is No
Answer But To Send Them Back"

Real Clear Politics, by Ian Schwartz

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: I think there are two separate issues with two separate answers. The one issue is controlling the border and not creating a magnet for the continuation of this catastrophe. The second is treating the kids who are here humanely, the best way that we can. For the first, there is no other answer than to send them back, to put them on buses, to have them come back to Central America, at which point it will be understood that you´re putting all your kids in danger for no reason. BRET BAIER: Address Kirsten´s concern -- KIRSTEN POWERS: They are in

Comments:
Kirsten Powers sounds like an adolescent living in another world. She says we can´t take 60,000 of them?? That is hardly the real number. She doesn´t give a flip about the impact of children and families in this country. Krauthammer is right. Countries from all over this world would just unload their children here. She´s out of her mind. The link below is the video of the entire segment.

Kirsten is a young Christian. Her compassion is from the heart. However, she is blurring the line between the government´s responsibility and the church´s responsibility.

Kirsten has no understanding of the care, feeding, housing, educating, etc. of children never having had children of her own. When she welcomes illegal children into her home to raise until they are adults, I may see her point. She is being unreasonable and doesn´t really care about the children. She has a political viewpoint and will continue to hammer on it.

I did not hear Kirsten express a willingness to take these "refugees" into her home and provide for their support.

Liberals appear to believe talking about something and expressing "the right intentions" somehow trumps personal action and actual. measurable results.

Talk is cheap Kirsten. Let´s see you put some skin in the game.

Powers was raised as an Episcopalian but spent much of her early adult life as an atheist. In her mid-30s, she became an evangelical Christian. The process of conversion began when she dated a religious Christian man, who introduced her to the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City and the teachings of its pastor, Tim Keller, and culminated in an experience in 2006 when, during a trip to Taiwan, she believes that she was visited by Jesus.[5] She has called her conversion "a bit of a mind bender" due to her political beliefs and former atheism, and prefers the term "orthodox Christian" over "evangelical" to describe herself, given the "cultural baggage" around the word "evangelical".[19]

Gotta be careful about "cultural baggage".

I have to say, I´m not too comfortable with this whole "send them back" thing.

Even Ted Cruz said “the most heartbreaking aspect of this is you look at some 90,000 little boys and little girls coming in illegally, the people bringing them in, they’re not well-meaning social workers. These are hardened, transnational, global carters. They are cruel, vicious men. These little boys and little girls are being subjected to physical violence, to sexual violence.”

Cruz says drug cartels “cut off and send back body parts” of children to try and force their families to pay a ransom.

“They will force one little boy or one little girl to cut off the fingers or ears of other little boys or little girls,” and that children immigrating to the U.S. had been “maimed.”

I mean, seriously... I´m not sure these kids need to be sent back.

If the state of Iowa sent 60,000 kids to California for the nice weather, would we say, yeah, these kids deserve nice weather. No, we would send then back to Iowa where they belong. These kids do not belong here -- they are here to mooch and here for political gain of the Dimocrats.

I don´t want our country to be the toilet where all the trash is dumped just because we have a nicer toilet than most places. That´s what we have become -- the third world´s toilet. Wait until these kids show up in your neighborhood schools and crowd out the American kids. Tell me how you feel then. People who don´t want to send them back must not have much experience in communities where they have taken over.

Of course the only answer is to send them back. They will keep coming unless they get the idea that their trip will be in vain.

Obama wants to overwhelm our system ala Cloward-Piven, so it will not stop for another 2 years, at least.

I heard Kirsten say that she was with Brit Hume at the detention center with the children. What a disappointment Hume is. I believe those children were told what to say to the press so that they would be allowed to stay.

Why doesn´t Kirsten have any children of her own?
Too busy with her career?
In Paris the Roma were intentionally maiming their own children for begging.
These cartels may do the same.
That does not mean we do not send them back.
The trains carrying these children go the other way-take the incentive out.
The young male criminals and terrorists are using them for cover.
This is an INVASION and has to be handled as such.

If you thought last winter was bad, get ready for a potentially worse winter in parts of the country this year. But another record-setting winter could mean more than higher heating bills and snow fights. Harsh winter weather combined with coal-fired power plant closings could spell trouble for many households across the country who will desperately need to keep the lights and heat on this winter. A federal agency is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to support film festivals that showcase movies that some Americans might find offensive. Decapitated heads, public urination and sexual promiscuity are among the subjects explored on the big screen of events underwritten with U.S. taxpayers’ money. The National Endowment for the Arts directly funded at least 39 film festivals last fiscal year at a cost to taxpayers of $845,000. That doesn’t include the dozens of other festivals funded by federal dollars funneled through state and local arts agencies. Among the films featured at taxpayer-subsidized film festivals were “Wawd Ahp,”

The Giver producer Chip Flaherty says Lowry’s tale represents a cultural moment when both the left and the right can join together. The film’s dystopian future may pack conservative messages, but it also pays tribute to passion, creativity and the messy business of personal freedom.
