At Dinner Tables, Restless
President Finds Intellectual Escape

New York Times, by Julie Hirschfeld Davis

WASHINGTON — President Obama had just disembarked from Air Force One and was still on the tarmac in Rome when he turned to his host, John R. Phillips, the American ambassador to Italy, with an unexpected request: How about a dinner party tomorrow night? Over the next 24 hours, the startled Mr. Phillips and his wife, the former Obama aide Linda Douglass, scrambled to gather some of Italy’s intellettuali. (Snip) In a summer when the president is traveling across the country meeting with “ordinary Americans” under highly choreographed conditions, the Rome dinner shows another side of Mr. Obama. As one of

Comments:
Mega barf alert!! Davis has the audacity to write this tripe: "...the dinners reflect a restless president weary of the obligations of the White House and less concerned about the appearance of partying with the rich and celebrated." What pure, unadulterated rubbish. Obama pretends he such an intellectual. What a joke. He´s a Marxist community organizer who perfectly represents the old adage that you can´t make a silken purse out of a sow´s ear. He can´t fool us.

That drug-addled Hawaiian brain never held much of an intellect. And the writer puts on display her own lack of discernment, showcasing instead her membership in the mutual admiration society of the journalists and the presidential sycophants (otherwise known the Pretty People).

NY Times articles like this one, and the one over the weekend saying that "the border crisis is a myth", are such suck-up, fluff pieces to try to put some lipstick on the dreadful situations that we face. (Was that article that promoted Michelle for a cosmetic ad because of her toned arms and glistening skin in the Times also?)

It is time for all of us to boycott the Times and to write to their advertisers complaining about their irresponsible reporting. They should feel the heat for their lies and misreporting.

The saga of University of California, Santa Barbara feminist studies professor Mireille Miller-Young has taken yet another bizarro twist after her defenders urged a judge to excuse the criminal allegations against her because of the “cultural legacy of slavery.” Miller-Young pleaded no contest last month to misdemeanor counts of battery, theft and vandalism after she rallied up a small gaggle of female vigilantes and attacked abortion protesters Thrin Short, 16, and Joan Short, 21. Decapitated heads, public urination and sexual promiscuity are among the subjects explored on the big screen of events underwritten with U.S. taxpayers’ money. The National Endowment for the Arts directly funded at least 39 film festivals last fiscal year at a cost to taxpayers of $845,000. That doesn’t include the dozens of other festivals funded by federal dollars funneled through state and local arts agencies. Among the films featured at taxpayer-subsidized film festivals were “Wawd Ahp,”

A Travis County grand jury today indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two charges related to his effort last year to force District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign after her drunken driving arrest. Grand jurors charged Perry, 63, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public official. The indictments stemmed from Perry’s threat last summer to withhold $7.2 million in state money from Lehmberg’s office unless she step down – a threat he later carried out by vetoing an appropriation in the state budget. The money was earmarked for the state’s Public Integrity Unit, which is housed in Lehmberg’s office. Perry’s veto forced

The scandal that erupted Friday night involved millions of dollars, statehouse power plays—oh yeah, and alcohol, police, and masks. Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted Friday on charges of abuse of power—a first degree felony—and coercion—a third degree felony. This is a complex case, which might be why it has not made national headlines the way other recent, state-level scandals (like Bridgegate, in New Jersey) have. Below, I have outlined
