Group At Center Of IRS Scandal

Independent Journal Review, by Larry O´Connor

No one from True The Vote, the highest profile organization targeted by the IRS in the scandal involving improper scrutiny of conservative-leaning non-profits, has been interviewed by the FBI or investigators from the Department of Justice, according to the group’s President, Catherine Engelbrecht. This stunning revelation comes just days after Attorney General Eric Holder rebuffed the suggestion that an independent investigation is needed into the growing scandal. Holder told ABC News this weekend that a special investigation was unnecessary because “career people” and FBI agents were “doing a good, professional job” investigating the matter. When I raised Holder’s assertion to Engelbrecht

Actually Head of FBI Jim Comey can authorize an investigation into the IRS without the approval of Holder. So why doesn´t he? He can not be ordered to refrain from an investigation if he feels he has a basis for it.And he can not be fired for insubordination if he ignores requests from anyone including the president to stay away from the IRS.I can´t understand why he is letting us down on this scandal.

Report: Desperate Hamas

Breitbart Big Peace, by Joel B. Pollack    Original Article

Though Hamas started the latest round of conflict with Israel, it seems to have calculated--wrongly--that Israel would not launch a ground invasion. Members of the Hamas terrorist organization are reportedly so desperate for food after three-and-a-half weeks of war with Israel that they are seizing United Nations food coupons to keep their members fed--and to prevent them from surrendering to Israeli soldiers out of sheer hunger. The Jerusalem Post reports that senior Israeli military planners have concluded that Hamas is operating from a position of weakness, having lost much of its secretive tunnel network--and at least some of

The coldblooded atrocities being committed by the fundamentalist militants fighting under the Islamic State’s banners in Iraq and Syria continue unabated. ISIS militants in the north and west of Iraq are destroying ancient Christian and Shiite religious shrines unchecked, have robbed Christian Iraqis and purged them from the areas they control, and are now carrying out a virtually genocidal massacre of Shia Muslim men. In a video that was deemed too graphic even for YouTube, ISIS militants revealed their brutality for the world when they posted footage featuring hundreds of Muslim men being summarily executed.

OTTAWA -- An unflinching Prime Minister Stephen Harper reiterated his government´s hard line on Wednesday on Hamas, Russia and Chinese cyberattacks. Harper said Hamas is solely responsible for the death and destruction in Gaza following almost a month of fighting between Israel and Hamas militants. His remarks, made following a job training announcement in northern Saskatchewan, came as the United States and the United Nations condemned the shelling of a UN school that was sheltering displaced Palestinians on the Gaza Strip. At least 17 people were killed. "Obviously no one likes to see the suffering and loss of

LONDON - Drug-resistant malaria parasites have spread to border regions of Southeast Asia, seriously threatening global efforts to control and eliminate the mosquito-borne disease, researchers said on Wednesday. The scientists, who analyzed blood samples from 1,241 malaria patients in 10 countries across Asia and Africa, found resistance to the world´s most effective antimalarial drug, artemisinin, is now widespread in Southeast Asia. However, the study found no signs yet of resistance in the three African sites it covered in Kenya, Nigeria and Democratic Republic of the Congo. TEL AVIV, Israel — The savage fighting between Israel and Hamas is escalating in Gaza, cease-fire efforts take on elements of farce, and bravado rules the public discourse. But even through the fog of war, a few endgame scenarios can nonetheless be glimpsed. For the moment, the deadlock is well-entrenched: As long as the crippling blockade of Gaza remains in place, Hamas says it will continue firing rockets at Israel — terrifying but mostly ineffectual, thanks to the "Iron Dome" defense system. (snip) While it is too early to say how all this will end, quiet diplomacy continues. There also

Nightline co-anchor Dan Harris on Monday night mocked Sarah Palin for her new internet channel and falsely identified the conservative as "the woman who says she can see Russia from her house." [MP3 audio here.] No, she didn´t. It was Saturday Night Live´s Tina Fey in 2008 who uttered this line. In the tease for the report, Harris played the actual quote: "You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska." So what is the point of misleading viewers with something Palin didn´t say? Making his contempt clear, Harris derided the Republican as the "former half-term governor of Alaska."

Liberal darling and free-birth-control advocate Sandra Fluke is her own biggest donor in her state Senate race, according to official California campaign finance reports. Fluke donated $12,000 to her campaign and $4,826.27 in non-monetary contributions. While $16,826.27 may not sound like a lot, Fluke also loaned her campaign $100,000. Where does a 2012 law school grad working as a social justice attorney get a loan that size? Her campaign never responded to a Washington Examiner inquiry, so we’re left to speculate. Perhaps the loan was in part secured by the family of Fluke’s husband, Adam Mutterperl.
