Democrats continue to pile on
Obama for skipping the border

Washington – Yet more Democrats are piling on President Barack Obama for skipping a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border during his recent trip to Texas. "I wish he would have come to the border,´ said U.S. Rep. Beto O´Rourke, a Texas Democrat on CNN´s State of the Union with Candy Crowley. "It would have sent an important message to the rest of the country about how seriously he takes this issue beyond the spending request he sent to Congress last week." Obama´s decision to skip the border comes as more and more unaccompanied immigrant minors are making their way in

I think it would be a wonderful gesture if during the August recess, ALL the House Dems make a pilgrimage to the border and spend the recess doing volunteer with some of the agencies providing assistance for the migrants.

The Dems are merely posturing for their constituents. They are acting concerned during an election year. It´s called trolling for votes. If a close the border bill came before them today they´d all vote NO.

I think every Democrat should go to an immigration center and have a nice sit down family style dinner with the children. Serve finger food and pass the dishes around the table. Anyone who reaches for hand sanitizer must be forced to admit that scattering the children around the country is a really stupid idea.

BO could st the least forgo his expensive vacation so the money can go for the children. Camp David is a nice vacation location. Or he could take the fam to the border and feed the children.
Hey, better yet: He could have a TV special ´So you want to date my daughter.´ He interview guys to find a few that would be good matches for the daughters.

What caused the Ferguson riot

SWAT teams and angry protesters clashed in a small St. Louis suburb for a third day Tuesday, following the death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown. The eruption of protests and violence has been a long time coming. While I certainly do not condone rioting, examining the conditions surrounding Brown’s death — and the deaths of several other unarmed black men killed by law enforcement recently — makes clear that community reactions like those in Ferguson, Mo., are bound to happen. America has continued to isolate poor black people in economically depressed neighborhoods under increasingly oppressive police tactics that breed

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Another 130 U.S. troops arrived in Iraq on Tuesday on what the Pentagon described as a temporary mission to assess the scope of the humanitarian crisis facing thousands of displaced Iraqi civilians trapped on Sinjar Mountain and evaluate options for getting them out to safety. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced the deployment in remarks to Marines at this Southern California base on the final stop of a weeklong, around-the-world trip that also took him to India, Germany and Australia. "This is not a combat boots on the ground kind of operation," Hagel said. "We´re not going back

Islamic militant forces in northern Iraq appear to be shifting tactics in the face of the newly launched U.S. airstrike campaign, Defense officials say, posing a new challenge to the Obama administration as it seeks to at least slow the terrorists’ advances. According to officials, until now the Islamic State (IS) was behaving like a well-organized army, moving with strategic intent and pursuing military objectives. Now, officials are seeing at least a partial shift to classic insurgency tactics, as militants begin to blend in among the population, making targeting more difficult. “One of the things that we have seen with

FERGUSON, Mo.- The Rev. Al Sharpton says the shooting death of an unarmed 18-year-old black man by a St. Louis-area police officer is “very disturbing,” and the civil-rights leader is planning a visit to that suburb to make that known. Sharpton says he’s spoken with a grandfather of Michael Brown and plans to meet with the family in person Monday night or Tuesday in Ferguson. That’s where St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar says the shooting happened Saturday afternoon after an officer scuffled with one of two men. Brown was shot multiple times and died, though the investigation continues.

President Obama doesn’t have much of a plan, but neither does anybody else. Proceed with caution. Obama’s initial response to the rise and deadly spread of an extremist militant group in Iraq and Syria is full of holes. It is doubtful that American airstrikes will be enough to sufficiently turn back the Islamist insurgents. It is doubtful that airstrikes alone will be enough to secure an escape path for all 20,000 Yazidis, a religious minority group still under siege on a barren mountaintop. It is even questionable whether the one major condition Obama has placed on further U.S. military support

There was an eerie flashback to 1965 in parts of the St. Louis region Sunday. Riot gear. Tear gas. German shepherds. Looting. Stores on fire. Dozens arrested. It was the violent aftermath of a violent encounter the day before between a police officer and teenager Mike Brown, who was killed. On this very same night that Ferguson boiled over, the Watts riots had burned in Los Angeles nearly 50 years prior. It´s hard to explain race relations within the St. Louis metro area to those who have never lived here. It´s even harder to make sense of it for children
