The IRS under oath
New York Post, by Editorial

Original Article

At a recent hearing, Rep. Paul Ryan neatly summarized the problem the IRS has when he responded to Commissioner John Koskinen this way: “I don’t believe it. That’s your problem: Nobody believes you.” Now two federal judges have basically said the same thing. Last Thursday, US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan, a Bill Clinton appointee, ordered the IRS to designate an official to explain — under oath — how it lost the Lois Lerner e-mails. The judge also asked a federal magistrate to look at other ways the court might find the IRS records. The order was followed the next day with

There is no reasonable scenario in which the IRS - or for that matter the EPA, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Energy, State Dept. (fill in the rest as you see fit) - can ever be trusted or believed unless and until the underlying cause of the scandals is addressed.

When public workers unions were allowed to take over control of the federal workforce the citizenry ("We the People") became formally established as "the enemy" and the Democratic party (including statist "Republicans" wearing false suits over their progressive gang "colors") became the enablers.

When so-called negotiations take place and all three parties, the union representatives, the government "management" and the referee, are all on the same side of the table, all paid by the taxpayer and all see their pay, perks and paths to advancement and ever increasing pay, allowances, free "conferences" in Hawaii and other exotic vacation spots as unlimited license to steal - dependent upon continued democratic party power.

When the president openly declares that the constitution is effectively a useless anachronism and that he has the right to nullify laws he doesn´t like and implement laws the congress would not enact - it really doesn´t matter that he isn´t as stupid as Richard Nixon was.

We are not going to find any Oval Office tapes telling the ATF to send 2000 guns to Mexican drug dealers, telling the IRS to target conservative groups to shut down opposition speech before the election, telling every agency to stonewall on Benghazi, or any of the other scandals from the Keystone XL pipeline to the current "final solution to the conservative problem" taking place on our southern border.

The president sets the tone and speaks in progressive code every time he fires up his teleprompter. The bureaucracy does not need a written order. They all understand how their bread is buttered.

A great deal of the power vested in the government can be traced directly to President JFK who signed off on the executive order in1962 that allows government employees to unionize.Things have gone down hill ever since then.

I´m amazed at the millions of dollars spent on showboat hearings with criminal scandal after scandal and no one has gone to jail. We are truely a lawless country. This is all sickening to watch while crimes are being commited before our eyes and the arrogance of the IRS is appalling. A simple detective like Dick Tracy could solve these crimes yet here we sit getting insulted by these suit wearing, lying, white collar criminals because that´s what they all are.

The IRS will likely offer up some politically unconnected underling who knows nothing of his superiors shenanigans as a sacrifice. Meanwhile the perpetrators go on spending their lush pensions and exorbitant salaries while laughing at all attempts to catch them. Republicans complain and do nothing effective, as usual.

Pardon the pun.. but Holder is the Holder to the keys to all these scandals. The congress can only do so much.. it is up to the Justice dept to investigate or appoint those who do.

To appoint a special prosecutor will only add years to the investigation, and no guarantee the person (appointed by Holder) will ever get the truth.

WE may not ever get to the bottom of these investigations with anyone held accountable, but maybe enough has already been proven to get some sensible candidate to call for IRS to be scrapped.

After this week’s dreary news out of Kansas, we owe Hot Air readers a pleasant surprise, and this may be it. Martha Coakley, who lost a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by the death of Ted Kennedy four years ago despite the near-total grip Democrats have on Massachusetts, may be in the process of losing another election. Republican gubernatorial nominee Charlie Baker took his first lead in the Boston Globe poll series, edging Coakley barely, while neither candidate looks to be catching fire: Republican Charlie Baker has edged ahead of Democrat Martha Coakley in the race for governor,

After lots of bluster about striking ISIS on Syria, President Obama threw cold water on the idea, disappointing those who wanted him to broaden the war. After a week of talk of eliminating the "cancer" of ISIS, President Obama said Thursday that he was not planning to significantly expand the war against the Islamic extremist movement anytime soon. His remarks came after days of heated debate inside the top levels of his own national security bureaucracy about how, where, and whether to strike ISIS in Syria. But those deliberations – which included a bleak intelligence assessment of America´s potential allies

In 1978, Star Wars won seven Academy Awards. But if you want to watch that original version, the first of George Lucas’s soon to be seven-part saga, you’ll find it difficult. In fact, it’s actually impossible to buy an official copy of Star Wars as it was first released. Lucas doesn’t want you to see that version. Instead, he wants you to watch the continuously updated special editions—movies with added CGI, changed sound effects, and whole new scenes. According to some fans, every element that prompted the Academy to recognize the original Star Wars has been changed in these new versions.

When Republican Rep. "I´m supposed to do this in 30 seconds?" he joked, noting the issue´s complexity. While he was optimistic about long-term prospects for dealing with border security and immigration, he said, "between now and the end of this Congress, I´m a little less sanguine about it." It has been a question heard repeatedly by lawmakers this month in "town hall" district meetings punctuated - and

There are gaffes — and then there are gaffes. President Obama´s admission in a press conference Thursday that “we don’t have a strategy yet” for a broader confrontation with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is a real problem for the White House. Rather than the average inartful comment that disappears after a few news cycles, the no-strategy line could help cement charges that Obama lacks the competency to handle multiple crises at once. A central component of the GOP´s strategy for the midterms is to paint Obama as either overwhelmed by the challenges of his office or simply too detached to
