The IRS under oath
New York Post, by Editorial

Original Article

At a recent hearing, Rep. Paul Ryan neatly summarized the problem the IRS has when he responded to Commissioner John Koskinen this way: “I don’t believe it. That’s your problem: Nobody believes you.” Now two federal judges have basically said the same thing. Last Thursday, US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan, a Bill Clinton appointee, ordered the IRS to designate an official to explain — under oath — how it lost the Lois Lerner e-mails. The judge also asked a federal magistrate to look at other ways the court might find the IRS records. The order was followed the next day with

There is no reasonable scenario in which the IRS - or for that matter the EPA, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Energy, State Dept. (fill in the rest as you see fit) - can ever be trusted or believed unless and until the underlying cause of the scandals is addressed.

When public workers unions were allowed to take over control of the federal workforce the citizenry ("We the People") became formally established as "the enemy" and the Democratic party (including statist "Republicans" wearing false suits over their progressive gang "colors") became the enablers.

When so-called negotiations take place and all three parties, the union representatives, the government "management" and the referee, are all on the same side of the table, all paid by the taxpayer and all see their pay, perks and paths to advancement and ever increasing pay, allowances, free "conferences" in Hawaii and other exotic vacation spots as unlimited license to steal - dependent upon continued democratic party power.

When the president openly declares that the constitution is effectively a useless anachronism and that he has the right to nullify laws he doesn´t like and implement laws the congress would not enact - it really doesn´t matter that he isn´t as stupid as Richard Nixon was.

We are not going to find any Oval Office tapes telling the ATF to send 2000 guns to Mexican drug dealers, telling the IRS to target conservative groups to shut down opposition speech before the election, telling every agency to stonewall on Benghazi, or any of the other scandals from the Keystone XL pipeline to the current "final solution to the conservative problem" taking place on our southern border.

The president sets the tone and speaks in progressive code every time he fires up his teleprompter. The bureaucracy does not need a written order. They all understand how their bread is buttered.

A great deal of the power vested in the government can be traced directly to President JFK who signed off on the executive order in1962 that allows government employees to unionize.Things have gone down hill ever since then.

I´m amazed at the millions of dollars spent on showboat hearings with criminal scandal after scandal and no one has gone to jail. We are truely a lawless country. This is all sickening to watch while crimes are being commited before our eyes and the arrogance of the IRS is appalling. A simple detective like Dick Tracy could solve these crimes yet here we sit getting insulted by these suit wearing, lying, white collar criminals because that´s what they all are.

The IRS will likely offer up some politically unconnected underling who knows nothing of his superiors shenanigans as a sacrifice. Meanwhile the perpetrators go on spending their lush pensions and exorbitant salaries while laughing at all attempts to catch them. Republicans complain and do nothing effective, as usual.

Pardon the pun.. but Holder is the Holder to the keys to all these scandals. The congress can only do so much.. it is up to the Justice dept to investigate or appoint those who do.

To appoint a special prosecutor will only add years to the investigation, and no guarantee the person (appointed by Holder) will ever get the truth.

WE may not ever get to the bottom of these investigations with anyone held accountable, but maybe enough has already been proven to get some sensible candidate to call for IRS to be scrapped.

WASHINGTON — An outside political committee has spent thousands of dollars on signs and billboards to boost Florida Democrat Gabriel Rothblatt´s long-shot bid for Congress. Every dollar the super PAC has collected — $225,000 — has come from his parent, Martine Rothblatt, the CEO of a Maryland-based biotech company. The pro-Rothblatt "Space PAC" is one of dozens of deep-pocketed super PACs financed by a handful of donors — some of which have close ties to the candidates they support. More than 40 super PACs that have raised at least $100,000 since Jan. 1 list fewer than five donors on campaign-finance

RICHMOND, Va. — Mary O´Melia left Ireland for America as a young widow with three children before she was hired as housekeeper at the White House of the Confederacy. An intimate witness to history, she also has been much of a mystery. That was until this year, when a woman with a distinctive Irish lilt to her voice called The American Civil War Museum. The housekeeper, the woman said, was related to her late husband, and she had in her possession a necklace that Confederate first lady Varina Davis gave O´Melia. But there was more. ‘‘What really took my breath away

New data shows the White House has painted a false picture of the Central American migration by hiding a huge spike in “family units” who are illegally crossing the Texas border. The data, which was dumped by the U.S. border patrol late Friday afternoon, shows that inflow of youths and children traveling without parents has doubled since 2013, to 57,525 in the nine months up to July 2014. But the number of migrants who cross the border in so-called “family units” has spiked five-fold to 55,420, according to the border patrol’s data, which came out amid a storm of news about the

Water is not a human right. It’s a human need. Ever since Adam and Eve got booted out of Eden, people have devoted most of their energy and labor to meeting the basic needs of food, water, clothing and shelter. It’s the origin of work — you’re hungry, you’re thirsty, you need some decent threads and a roof over your head, you have to get up in the morning and do something constructive. There will be a lot of folks in the streets of Detroit Friday afternoon challenging that truth. The legion of lefties in town for the Netroots Nation gathering have

It is a bad sign when your political defense can be summed up with the phrase “things could be worse.” It is a very bad sign when that weak excuse applies to not only an incumbent president’s economic policy but also to his foreign policy. Job growth is only a mirage and economic growth is anemic at best, but the president and his Democratic allies are still trying to convince us that our economy is in a good place and getting better. The Ukrainian Security Service released the incriminating tapes Friday as President Obama threatened to crank up economic sanctions against Russia and the probe of the mass murder continued. Investigators descended Friday on the sunflower fields near the Ukraine-Russia border to recover evidence and to determine exactly who was behind the attack on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, killing all 298 people aboard. The United Nations said 80 of those killed were children. World leaders demanded an immediate ceasefire in

If you’re looking for a reason for the supposed impoverishment of Gaza, look no further than the maze of tunnels – some of them miles long — Hamas has built under their territory and beyond their borders into Israel. It’s the jihadist version of Boston’s “Big Dig.” The construction is so extensive that nearly every able-bodied man must have been employed in the occupation of tunnel-building, not to mention the huge diversion of funds, much of it donated by the West, for material like concrete originally trucked into Gaza by the Israelis and others for “humanitarian purposes.” A huge complex is

I hope whoever issued that invitation has the decency to feel some embarrassment today. Through the past eight months of escalating Russian violence against Ukraine, too many European governments have treated the Ukraine issue as remote and marginal: regrettable, yes, but not a threat to the peace of the continent. It was more important, they felt, to sustain a normal relationship with Russia. That illusion died yesterday along with the murdered passengers of Malaysia Airlines
