What Real Support

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement about the situation in Israel: The indiscriminate rocket attacks from Gaza on Israel are terrorist acts, for which there is no justification. It is evident that Hamas is deliberately using human shields to further terror in the region. Failure by the international community to condemn these reprehensible actions would encourage these terrorists to continue their appalling actions. Canada calls on its allies and partners to recognize that these terrorist acts are unacceptable and that solidarity with Israel is the best way of stopping the conflict. Canada is unequivocally

The Left unconditionally loathes Israel as much as it unconditionally loathes the USA. Obama is on the Left. Do the math.

Harper is not getting an invitation to Obama´s Iftar dinner. Israel just shot down an armed drone over a heavily populated area. Hamas is getting better weapons than before.

I know for a fact that Canadian Christians and Jews worked hard, prayed hard for years to get such a fine leader. Harper has not disappointed for a moment since the day he became Prime Minister. He has made similar statements of unequivocal support consistently.
He is very close to Bibi Netanyahu and top IDF officials. Have you noticed that American media virtually ignores Prime Minister Harper so that most citizens won´t ever get to know who he is and how he governs. This is 100% purposeful. Canada is BLESSED.

It does not take great powers of prophecy to discern the outcome of the latest U.S. intervention in Syria and Iraq. Soon, ground forces will become more directly involved. Fighting bravely and intelligently, those forces will win many victories, although at a high cost in battle casualties and terrorist outrages. Meanwhile, Islamic State forces only have to stay on the defensive until the patience of the U.S. public becomes exhausted, prompting another undignified American withdrawal in 2016 or 2020. Islamists will then regain power, just as the Taliban will almost certainly do in Afghanistan. Americans will be left scratching their

I just fought down my natural revulsion to anything that comes from the major networks to watch "Sixty Minutes." Teased into it by the promise that former SecDef, Leon Panetta, was going to blow the whistle on his former boss, Obama, I allowed myself to be sucked in. Panetta did say that it was a mistake to remove all American troops from Iraq, but to characterize that as a denouncement of Obama’s foreign policy was a bit lame. [snip] From the entire interview what came across to me as completely unbelievable – no, unacceptable -- was the revelation that ISIS

I. The Modern Progressives Woodrow Wilson, the very model of the modern Progressive, utterly rejected the Founders’ self-evident truths and unalienable rights. Wilson and the modern Progressives saw the Declaration and the Constitution as anachronisms that America needed to progress beyond. Wilson based his rejection of the Founders on the philosophy of the 19th century German G. W. F. Hegel, writing, "[T]he philosophy of any time is, as Hegel says, ´nothing but the spirit of that time expressed in abstract thought.´" For Wilson, history had moved on, and as a result, the thinking of the Founders had become, as he

His commentary in the Wall on the Street Journal on the commonalities between the strategies of ISIS and those of Mao Tse-tung and Ho Chi Minh (and the Western responses to same) ought to be required reading for President Obama and Valerie Jarrett. The Russian foreign ministry has issued a warning to President Obama and other western countries that might join the US in attacking ISIS in Syria: Without a UN Security Council resolution authorizing the strikes, the Russian government would consider any attack on Syrian soil "aggression." President Obama has no plans to seek authorization for his actions from the security council where it would probably be vetoed by Russia, or China, or both. This would set up another potential confrontation with Moscow, on top of the tension over Ukraine.

The U.S. is now bombing ISIS positions in Iraq. Before we get heavily involved in a losing battle – no matter who wins, we lose – the U.S. should consider its options wisely. We should not let emotional pleas overrule reason. By all means, the USA should drop food, tents, medical supplies, and even some small arms for self-defense to the Christians and Yazidis in Northern Iraq. Innocents should not be allowed to die. Beyond that limited involvement, America should do nothing. Why? Because Shia Iran is terrified of Sunni ISIS. Remember Iran? The mullah-ridden state trying to build nuclear

Israel Defense Force (IDF) ground units completed their withdrawal from Gaza on Tuesday, August 5. At first, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that this was part of a strategic Israeli decision to deal unilaterally with Hamas. Then Israel agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire, supposedly without committing to talks. Now Israel will enter Egyptian-mediated talks with Hamas, in contradiction to Netanyahu’s earlier pledge that there would be “no accommodation, only deterrence.” One thing is very clear at this point: Israel did not seek or win a military victory over Hamas, no matter what Netanyahu says, nor are most Israelis

The left-leaning tech blog Pando seems to be angry about a lot of aspects of reality.* Witness David Carr flipping out over this billboard that he spotted in San Francisco, “walking home from Pando’s office a few nights ago.” The billboard just educates people about reality. If you raise the cost of labor, then it becomes economical to replace labor with automation, in this case touch screens, which are declining in cost as labor prices itself out of the market through high minimum wages. Seems pretty basic. But Carr goes a little nuts, throwing around words like “screwing,” and impugning a person linked to the billboard.

For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Remember, when Ferguson exploded in racial rage in August, Mr. Obama chose not to curtail his 15-day vacation, spending day after day on the golf course in the white-skinned, white-wined, millionaire playground

WASHINGTON — The Senate’s minority whip is confident about Republicans being the majority in the 114th Congress — if conservatives can set aside differences and work to combat the massive influx of donor cash that has Democratic campaigns ahead in the money race. Only in the majority, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) stresses, can conservatives make headway on tamping down overregulation, repealing and replacing Obamacare, securing the “chaotic” border, getting Keystone XL moving, and bringing civilized debate back to the upper chamber. And only by realizing the gravity of the battle for November, he argues, can Republicans relegate Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

President Obama firmly believes the United States is better off now than when he took office, even though the American people cannot “feel” it. During an interview with 60 Minutes’ Steve Kroft, Obama said, “the country is definitely better off than when I came into office.” “When I came into office, our economy was in crisis,” Obama said. The president then cited lower unemployment, private sector job growth, and deficit cuts as evidence of his administration’s success. “I can put my record against any leader around the world in terms of digging ourselves out of a terrible, almost unprecedented financial crisis,” Obama said. Just two weeks into the new season of “The View,” co-hosts Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg tore into each other during a commercial break — in front of their stunned studio audience. O’Donnell refuses to wear an earpiece to stay in contact with producers while the live show is airing, so she had no clue it was time to stop talking.

Sacramento, Calif. - Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday signed legislation imposing the nation's first statewide ban on single-use plastic bags, driven to action by a buildup of litter and damage to aquatic ecosystems. A national coalition of plastic bag manufacturers immediately said it would seek a voter referendum to repeal the law, which is scheduled to take effect in July 2015. Under SB270, plastic bags will be phased out of large grocery stores starting next summer and convenience stores and pharmacies in 2016. The law allows grocers to charge a fee of at least 10 cents for using paper bags. State Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Los Angeles,

Here’s how to reinforce that belief: Sit out the 2014 congressional elections because your favorite candidate lost his primary bid to an establishment Republican.
