New York — A banner aiming to change people´s minds about what swastikas stand for has stirred outrage after it flew over beaches in New York City and on Long Island. Some beachgoers were appalled and officials fielded complaints after a plane toted the banner Saturday. The banner featured swastikas, a peace sign, a Star of David and a "pro-swastika" message. It was arranged by the International Raelian Movement. The group tries annually to remind people that before Adolf Hitler´s rise, the swastika was an ancient symbol of well-being to Hindus and Buddhists, among others. The Raelians — who believe

Hard to imagine that this was not an anti-semitic message. For all of the liberal sensitivities on racism, how do they overlook what is happening to Israel?

The hammer & sickle should provoke a similar reaction. But liberals would probably applaud wildly.

Serial rapist Essie L. But, nonetheless, I think there’s been change in the man, and I think it’s been sufficient so that we don’t any longer

Highland Park — Two years ago, a local ordinance was passed allowing the borough to compel homeowners to fix the sidewalks in front of their houses. Hundreds of residents complied with the borough’s request, but dozens more resisted. And it´s taken two years to reach a climax: this month the borough began taking dozens of homeowners to municipal court, following up on summonses. Some of the homeowners have decided they can fight borough hall. In a lawsuit filed Monday, they charge the venture is a town-wide system of “intimidation” to do needless repairs. “In the past two years, Highland Park has

It’s official: Obamaism is dead. Hillary Clinton killed it. It wasn’t so much a mercy killing as an expedient one, but that’s politics in the best sense. The important thing is that she broke the Democratic omertà code by stating the obvious: The president’s policy of having America sit on the sidelines of a burning world is a disaster that threatens our national security. The power of her argument is confirmed by a report that a testy Obama called it “horses–t” to congressional leaders. What would happen, though, if Boehner turned around and made a deal with Harry Reid on amnesty in September? SWAT teams and angry protesters clashed in a small St. Louis suburb for a third day Tuesday, following the death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown. The eruption of protests and violence has been a long time coming. While I certainly do not condone rioting, examining the conditions surrounding Brown’s death — and the deaths of several other unarmed black men killed by law enforcement recently — makes clear that community reactions like those in Ferguson, Mo., are bound to happen. California lawmakers are poised to enact a regulation requiring every college and university that receives public funding to define consensual sex in a way that attempts to micro-manage everyone’s sexual affairs. The first-in-the-nation legislation already passed California’s state Senate by a vote of 27-4 in May, The Associated Press reports. If the bill passes the assembly this month, it will then go to the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown. The bill, which is based on guidance from the Obama administration, requires an “affirmative consent standard” that school administrators would use to determine whether a sexual assault has occurred.
