Holder: ´Homegrown Violent
Extremists … Keep Me Up at Night´

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

Attorney General Eric Holder has a "lot of sleepless nights," reported ABC News this morning. Chief among his concerns? The threat of "homegrown violent extremists. "Asked the ABC News reporter, "Is that threat," like the Boston Marathon bombing last year, "any less serious?" "These lone wolves. These homegrown violent extremists are people who keep me up at night, as well," said Holder. "Trying to monitor them, trying to anticipate what it is they are going to do. And the experience that we had in Boston is instructive. It only takes only one or two people to really do something horrific." The ABC

Of course the "homegrown violent extremists" are Tea Party members, Libertarians, and all other conservatives who strongly disagree with Obama´s one-man rule.

Islam, as Mr. Holder and President Obama agree, is a religion of peace, not violent extremism.

That way you´ll be able to get some sleep! Which you will need, you have a lot work to do.

The Boston bombers didn´t work alone, and the Russians even warned us about them. So, what are the examples of actual home grown extremists that have done anything?

What he really means is that he plans to strip us of more freedom, wealth and opportunity. And he´s worried about the backlash once he destroys what is left of America.

Except the Boston Marathon bombers weren´t homegrown, they were imported and replanted here. And Eric Holder apparently slept through all the warnings that they had become radicalized. The one true homegrown extremist was Col. Nidal Hasan. Again, Holder slept through all sorts of warnings that he was radicalizing. Fact is that while Holder has his focus on the US right wing, all the violence is happening behind him.

In a speech in Boston, First Lady Michelle Obama left behind talk of exercise and school lunches, exchanging it all for bald politics by claiming that under her husband the US economy is now better off "by almost every economic measure." The First Lady appeared at the Strand Theater Friday to stump for Martha Coakley´s campaign for Governor of Massachusetts. Coakley needs help badly, as even in blue, blue Massachusetts, the race between Democrat Coakley and Republican Charlie Baker is essentially a toss up. NEW YORK — As same-sex marriage cases cascade through the federal courts, Republican politicians find themselves awkwardly split into three camps. There´s a small but growing number who favor legalizing gay marriage, a hard-core faction that continues to denounce it, and a sizable group in between that seems to wish the issue would disappear. At one end of the spectrum, at least eight GOP members of Congress have endorsed same-sex marriage, and two openly gay GOP candidates for the House hope to join them. Note: Hate speech, not hate crimes. YouGov asked people about hate crimes for its poll too and found bipartisan support for the federal law that provides steeper penalties for crimes motivated by hatred of the victim’s race, religion, gender, or national origin. Sixty-four percent of Dems gave thumbs-up to that versus 54 percent of Republicans. A plurality of Republicans also support expanding that law to target hate crimes committed against gays: 44 percent say yes versus 30 percent who say no. Hate-crimes laws matter in the sentencing phase. If you’re guilty of the underlying offense, then you can be punished more

Mitt Romney just made a savvy next step in his quiet, camouflaged 2016 campaign. Like a growing number of Americans, Romney refused to declare a political party when he filled out a new voter registration reform in Utah. It´s the sort of party-rejecting step that could position a reinvented Romney to become America´s first non-Democrat or Republican president since the 1800s. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the new Utah registration form completed and signed by Romney last August deliberately leaves out any party identification. Scientists are to challenge the climate-change sceptics by vastly improving the speed with which they can prove links between a heatwave or other extreme weather event and man-made changes to the atmosphere. It typically takes about a year to determine whether human-induced global warming played a role in a drought, storm, torrential downpour or heatwave – and how big a role it played. This allows climate sceptics to dismiss any given extreme event as part of the “natural weather variation” in the immediate aftermath, while campaigners automatically blame it on global warming. ATLANTA — Texas, America’s second-most populous state behind California, saw 13 of its last abortion clinics turn away women on Friday, after a federal appeals court upheld a law that practically guarantees that only a handful of clinics will remain open in the state.
