Barack Obama fist bumps
Texas restaurant employee

President Barack Obama shared a fist bump with a Texas restaurant employee who urged him to do more to promote gay rights in the United States. Daniel Rugg Webb, a comedian, artist and musician, as well as an employee at Franklin Barbecue in Austin, seized the opportunity to make his voice heard when he found out Potus was visiting the food joint on Thursday, The Austin Chronicle reported. (Snip) Obama responded: “Are you gay?! To which Webb replied: “Only when I have sex.” Laughing, the President told Webb to “bump me” and the pair knocked their fists together. The exchange

Comments:
I thought this was a parody when I first heard it. Our dear president was actually asking people if they were gay during yet another photo op.

When a homosexual says to "bump him" to another, I don´t think they are talking about their fists, but then I could be wrong.

"Are you gay?" is representative of the liberal desire to know everything about you. Liberals want information. You can also see this in the NSA spying. Information is crucial to how liberalism operates.

Mahmud Raoi, Afghanistan - Taliban fighters are scoring early gains in several strategic areas near the capital this summer, inflicting heavy casualties and casting new doubt on the ability of Afghan forces to contain the insurgency as the United States moves to complete its withdrawal of combat troops, according to Afghan officials and local elders. The Taliban have found success beyond their traditional strongholds in the rural south and are now dominating territory near crucial highways and cities that surround Kabul, the capital, in strategic provinces like Kapisa and Nangarhar. Their advance has gone unreported because most

Fresh evidence that Russia is directly shelling Ukrainian military targets is stoking concerns that Vladimir Putin feels increasingly comfortable running roughshod over his neighbors in defiance of the U.S. and Europe, putting pressure on the Obama administration to draw a red line that even Moscow can see. "Putin seems like he´s unchecked," Rep. Buck McKeon, R-Calif., chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, told Fox Business Network, calling the latest Russian involvement a "clear escalation." The Obama administration has taken a decidedly tougher tone than Europe against Putin since the start of the Ukraine crisis,

Russia has now amassed around 15,000 troops along the border with Ukraine, the U.S. ambassador to NATO said on Friday, offering a higher figure than one previously cited by the Pentagon. U.S. ambassador to NATO Douglas Lute offered the estimate during a security forum in Colorado, saying there were “now up again over about 15,000 Russian troops amassed along the border with Ukraine.” Meanwhile, the Pentagon said Friday that movement of Russian heavy-calibre artillery systems across the border into Ukraine is “imminent,” adding that Russia is escalating the military action there. A Pentagon spokesman, Colonel Steve Warren, said the U.S.

Washington - The current crisis on the nation´s southern border appears to be fueling a notable shift in American attitudes toward immigration policy with border security growing in importance, according to a new national survey. A CNN/ORC International poll released on Thursday also indicates that a majority of those surveyed support making it easier for the United States to return migrant youth from Central America who have surged across the U.S. border with Mexico this year. But according to the survey, a bare majority views the children as refugees rather than illegal immigrants, and most say they´d be willing to

Vladimir Putin has responded to the international outrage over the destruction of a Malaysian airliner by his proxies in eastern Ukraine by escalating his aggression. According to U.S. officials, tanks, artillery and other heavy weapons have continued to cross from Russia to Ukraine since the passenger jet was shot down. On Wednesday, two more Ukrainian military jets were hit by anti-aircraft missiles, which Ukrainian officials said had been fired from Russia. The State Department also said Thursday that Russian artillery was firing at Ukrainian positions from across the border. The Russian president is clearly not impressed by Western responses to

The tragic downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 on July 17 by Russian-armed troops provides another occasion for the West to use its superior power to bring Russia’s war in Ukraine to an end. This assertion may sound surprising but nobody denies that the West, if it acts in unison, possesses more than enough power to force Russia to stop its war in Ukraine, withdraw its soldiers who shot down this plane, and move out all of its weapons. Yet the West has only employed a fraction of its power to date, driven as it is by commercial considerations and

Barack Obama has skated from crisis to crisis this summer, from insurgents invading Iraq, an avalanche of unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, the re-ignition of Israel-Palestinian violence and another contentious standoff with Russia. But new polling finds that, despite a wave of bad news, Obama´s job approval ratings have not budged. At all. Here´s what the data show: A CNN/Opinion Research poll concluding Sunday found 42 percent approving of Obama, one point below June, May and March; 55 percent have disapproved in each of the last three polls. In the aftermath of the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over Ukraine, there has been no shortage of shameful behavior: the appalling disrespect shown to the remains of victims; the games played to delay an independent inspection of the crash; the crude mendacity of the Kremlin’s efforts to divert responsibility. According to the Wall Street Journal, the shoemaker plans to close between 75 and 100 stores and lay off 183 employees in the coming years. It´s also set to cut back on the number of shoe styles it sells and focus on casual shoes in a bid to boost sales. The company expects the cutbacks to result in savings of $14 million by 2015, reports the website. In October 2007, the company was at its peak with a $6billion market value. But on Monday, shares closed at $14.84,

President Obama appears poised to take executive action that would legalize as many as 5 million illegal immigrant parents of U.S.-born children, a prospect that riles local immigration critics and adds a new dimension to concern about swelling immigrant populations in states like Massachusetts eyed as hosting sites for thousands of children who crossed the border unaccompanied. The Associated Press reported yesterday White House officials are laying the groundwork for an executive order that would automatically legalize roughly 5 million of an estimated 11 million people who have entered the country without legal authorization or overstayed their visas.

When The Times of Israel’s Avi Issacharoff first reported the content of John Kerry’s ceasefire proposal on Friday afternoon, I wondered if something had gotten lost in translation. It seemed inconceivable that the American secretary of state would have drafted an initiative that, as a priority, did not require the dismantling of Hamas’s rocket arsenal and network of tunnels dug under the Israeli border. Yet the reported text did not address these issues at all, nor call for the demilitarization of Gaza. It seemed inconceivable that the secretary’s initiative would specify the need to address Hamas’s demands for a lifting of

The IDF has not yet located and destroyed all of Hamas´ terror tunnels, but the consensus about the intent behind them is quite clear. Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas prime minister, delivered a revealing speech on March 23, 2014, in which he stressed the strategic importance of the Hamas attack tunnels, which, he argued, have changed the balance of power with Israel, when taken together with his organization’s military build-up. In the meantime, the IDF’s war against the tunnels continues. On Monday IDF forces thwarted another terror attack after two groups of Hamas

According to the poll, if the 2012 election were held again today, Romney would receive 53% of the popular vote, and Mr. Obama would receive 44%, CNN reported. Obama beat Romney 51%-47% in the actual election. The poll said, however, that the former Massachusetts governor would lose against Hillary Clinton by double digits in a hypothetical election. Mrs. Clinton would earn 55% of the vote, with Mr. Romney at 42%.

For example, during his recent visit to Brazil, Russian President Vladimir Putin was asked by journalists about U.S. sanctions against Russia due to the Ukrainian crisis. While naturally condemning such moves, part of his response was to accuse the Obama administration of “encouraging war between neighboring states.” In the same context, Putin added: American objectives have not been realized, nor have they accomplished anything, because everything has collapsed.
