How Rick Perry Won the Week
ABC News, by Arlette Saenz

From the television airwaves to the U.S.-Mexico border, Texas Governor Rick Perry was everywhere this week, raising the question: Could Rick Perry make a comeback? Perry, whose unforgettable “oops” moment derailed his presidential campaign in 2012, was front and center in the week’s most closely watched issue — how President Obama is handling the influx of unaccompanied minors streaming across the U.S.-Mexico border. Donning his new hipster glasses, the Texas governor was everywhere, from flying aboard Marine One with the president to riding a patrol boat on the Rio Grande, managing to insert himself in a controversial debate that could lend him

If you are the governor of Alaska, you might be justifiably accused of inserting yourself into the immigration debate. If you are the governor of Texas, you are at the center of the storm. ABC News nevertheless attempts to make Perry into an opportunist. suggesting that he has used presidential press coverage to worm his way into the story.

MSM media often build up conservatives only to knock them off later.

This is especially true when the MSM thinks that these conservatives are marginal candidates who will not have major success.

Rick Perry is just fine so long as Obama´s Border Patrol and DHS ship the fence jumpers out of Texas and he gets overtime money for his law enforcement officers helping round them up. He´s a classic hot air Texas "conservative"...tough talk crust with "compassionate" filling.

Snarkiness from both sides in the article and responses, but Rick Perry is the only Republican showing what a leader does: ride to the sound of the guns. Leaders don´t back off, fearing bad photos. Lead from the front, Rick Perry! We´ll sort out our nominee later.

John Kerry Says 40 Countries Have

Gateway Pundit, by Jim Hoft    Original Article

Former President George W. Bush put together a 48 member coalition for the Iraq War in 2003. 40 of those members supported military operations and 37 provided some number troops. In April 2003, the list was updated to include 49 countries, though it was reduced to 48 after Costa Rica objected to its inclusion. Of the 48 states on the list, three contributed troops to the invasion force (the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland). An additional 37 countries provided some number of troops to support military operations after the invasion was complete. Despite these numbers the liberal media continues to push the lie

WASHINGTON — Islamic State militants, who once relied on wealthy Persian Gulf donors for money, have become a self-sustaining financial juggernaut, making more than $3 million a day from oil smuggling, human trafficking, theft and extortion, according to U.S. intelligence officials and private experts. The extremist group’s resources exceed that “of any other terrorist group in history,” said a U.S. intelligence official. The Islamic State, or ISIS, has taken over large sections of Syria and Iraq, and controls as many as 11 oil fields in both countries, analysts say. It is selling oil and other goods through generations-old smuggling networks under the noses

The Department of Labor coordinated with the White House on whether or not to release hidden portions of former Labor Secretary Hilda Solis’ schedule as Solis battled an FBI investigation into her illegal fundraising for President Obama. New emails provided to The Daily Caller from the nonprofit legal research firm Cause of Action show the White House thanking the Department of Labor for “flagging” a public information request for “withheld” portions of Solis’ schedule. The White House then asked for the name of the conservative group making the request — information that Labor officials were eager to give up. As TheDC previously

If the Republicans win the Senate in November, the first thing they’ll say is: Finally, we can pass all of our bills and force President Barack Obama to deal with them. The second thing they’ll say is: Oh, wait a second. This is the Senate. That tension — between their desire to bring Obama to his knees and their ability to actually do it — is the political reality that will determine the Republicans’ legislative strategy if they win the Senate majority. They’d love to set up clear contrasts between the parties and pave the way for 2016. But everything they do

Is there a mutiny brewing around Obama?

Is a mutiny happening around President Obama? It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked? Maybe the president was told that, if he

But he has identified the wrong monster. It is the climate scare itself that is the real threat to civilization. There’s a lot of competition for Barack Obama’s biggest lie. But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder. WASHINGTON — The Obama administration said Sunday that “several” Arab nations had offered to join in airstrikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, but any sustained military campaign does not appear imminent, and is likely to require an even more significant commitment from other nations and fighting forces in the region. In interviews and public statements, administration and military officials described a battle plan that would not accelerate in earnest until disparate groups of Iraqi forces, Kurds and Syrian rebels stepped up to provide the fighting forces on the ground. Equipping, training and coordinating that effort is a

"I think [John McCain´s] veep candidate should be, has to be and probably will be either Jim DeMint or Mark Sanford, and Mark´s my guy," Ohio´s Ken Blackwell told the Washington Post in February 2008. This week, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) slandered a group of Middle Eastern Christians who were trying to raise awareness of their struggle to avoid a genocide in the Middle East. His cynical grandstanding was rightly condemned — but he was hardly alone. Cruz agreed to speak to this group, which included bishops of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, ostensibly out of solidarity, but took the occasion to antagonize them over their insufficient praise for Israel, then smeared them as anti-Semites before dropping the mic. The Washington Free Beacon publicized this flameout — their publisher said the room

Voter turnout during last month´s primary races was a little too good in some counties, Arizona elections officials said Friday. Some precincts in northern Arizona tallied more ballots cast than there are registered voters, the Arizona Capitol Times reported. According to officials, errors made by poll workers and elections officials in Apache and Navajo counties led to the miscalculations. Initial reports from some precincts showed a turnout of anywhere from 200 to 400 percent. In Apache County, the Puerco West precinct reportedly had 100 votes cast, but only 23 voters are registered there. The voter turnout added up to 434
