Israel briefly deployed ground troops inside the Gaza Strip for the first time early Sunday as its military warned northern Gaza residents to evacuate their homes, part of a widening campaign against militant rocket fire that has killed more than 160 Palestinians.(Snip) With Israel massing tanks and soldiers at Gaza´s borders, some fear that could signal a wider ground offensive that would cause heavy casualties. Early Sunday, Israeli troops launched a brief raid into northern Gaza to destroy what it described as a rocket-launching site, an operation the military said left four soldiers slightly wounded.

Not necessary. I don´t see a Hamas opposition party among the populace. Giving them a safe haven was another liberal mistake. Shows the valuable directions of a U.N. commission.

Does anyone really "fear" this? My biggest worry, is that President Zero will force the IDF to surrender before they complete the job.

These spawns of Satan were firing missiles at the nuclear reactor in Israel and were also attempting to kill numerous innocent civilians. Gee, that sounds like war to me. It sickens me to see that western civilization has become nothing more than a bunch of eunuchs. Destroy the enemy. Make Gaza into a series of bombed out craters. End the problem once and for all. Israel should tell the US Eunuch in Chief and the UN to go to hell.

"Ignoring international appeals for a ceasefire, Israel widened its range of Gaza bombing targets " No mention that HAMAS could stop launching rockets at any time and the retaliatory strikes would immediately end... and that there are No "International Appeals" toward HAMAS to do this.

The Israeli´s always do this. They aren´t interested in killing civilians. If they find an injured Palestinian they´ll care for him. They´ll take him back to an Israeli hospital.

Use this thread to discuss, analyze and evaluate all Mike Brown shooting topic issues: NEW: Thanks to everyone’s help we have now been able to identify additional physical evidence on the scene which again supports the “Black Canseco” outline: ‘Mike Brown doubled back to confront Officer Darren Wilson’. That evidence is the existence of an 8th cone identifying a large item located East of Mike Brown’s body. That item is about 8 feet East of Big Mike’s body (it could be packs of the cigars or something similar in size). This supports the stop, turn, and begin approaching Wilson who

Canadian scientists have rescued from death monkeys that were infected with a lethal dose of Ebola, in the latest study of an experimental drug that has been used on a handful of Ebola victims in West Africa. The antibody based compound known as ZMapp rescued 100 per cent of 18 Ebola-infected rhesus macaques, even when the drug was administered up to five days after infection with the virus. All treated monkeys recovered fully and show no side-effects, said Dr. Gary Kobinger, chief of special pathogens at Canada´s National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg. Three Ebola-infected macaques that didn´t receive ZMapp died. It is

WASHINGTON — President Obama is considering a delay of his most controversial proposals to revamp immigration laws through executive action until after the midterm elections in November, mindful of the electoral peril for Democratic Senate candidates, according to allies of the administration who have knowledge of White House deliberations. The president vowed in late June to act unilaterally, declaring a deep frustration with what he termed Republican obstruction in Congress. He pledged to act to reshape the immigration system soon after he received recommendations from senior advisers at the end of the summer. But now Mr. Obama and his aides appear to

MOSCOW — As Russian-backed rebels entrenched themselves in a newly captured, strategically located town in southeast Ukraine on Friday, President Vladimir V. Putin bluntly strengthened Moscow’s hard-line position that the government in Kiev must be compelled to negotiate regional autonomy. Abandoning his more frequent conciliatory stance, Mr. Putin issued a rare, open, congratulatory message to the insurgents. They had “achieved a major success in intercepting Kiev’s military operation,” he said on his website.Behind the message, and the wider military operation, analysts saw several Kremlin goals. Most important, they said, is that Mr. Putin wants to force terms, first laid down in

Judicial Watch first reported the scheme two years ago when Countrywide Financial Corporation doled out $335 million to settle its discrimination lawsuit with the feds. The money was supposed to be distributed to more than 200,000 minority victims who supposedly were charged higher interest rates and fees than white borrowers based on their race not their credit. On a gorgeous Monday evening nearly a year later, the pair in their shirtsleeves could have been discussing almost the same dilemma: How does Obama continue to bomb

During the Great Depression, the Communist scribes at the Daily Worker were forever assuring the more skeptical among their colleagues that the heroic spark was near. Having read about a “small riot somewhere in rural Minnesota,” Whittaker Chambers recorded in Witness, Robert Minor started shouting about “the beginning of the American revolution.” If the paper wished to capitalize upon dissatisfaction and spin it into insurrection and change, Minor proposed, it would need the staff to keep an eye out for the tell-tale sign and, then, to “play it up big.” Over the past month, the events in Ferguson, Mo., have played

Watching the events unfold in Ferguson, Missouri, I can’t help thinking about the Holocaust and post-war Germany. As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, I’ve spent years watching Germany wrestle with its dark past. It’s just one of many places that have made efforts to understand and compensate for a difficult history: For nearly three decades, countries as varied as South Africa, Rwanda, and the nations of Latin America and post-Communist Eastern Europe have been engaged in this process, often called “transitional justice.” That’s a broad term for the ways in which societies deal with the legacies of past injustice.

ISIS is a cancer that must be stamped out, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry wrote Saturday in an opinion piece for The New York Times. Kerry called the Islamist extremist group, known for beheadings, crucifixions and terror campaigns against religious and ethnic minorities, a "unifying threat to a broad array of countries" that needs to be confronted. It will take two decades to rebuild the thousands of houses destroyed during Israel’s assault on Gaza, according to a recent NGO report. At least 17,000 homes were obliterated or severely damaged during the conflict, with thousands more needing substantial repairs, according to an assessment by Shelter Cluster. More than 2,100 Palestinians, most of them civilians, were killed during the conflict. In addition 71 Israelis were killed – all but six of them soldiers. But the report on Gaza’s housing stock indicates inhabitants of the densely populated strip will face a severe infrastructural burden over the coming years.
