Immigrant children bringing out
the worst in some Americans

Fort Worth Star-Telegram, by Bob Ray Sanders

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 7/13/2014 6:35:35 AM

The “ugly American” has gotten a lot uglier over the past few weeks, from the streets of California to the halls of Congress and state houses around the country. A growing number of our fellow Americans have taken on grotesque features, in looks and sounds, in reaction to the thousands of children from Central America who have crossed our borders as they flee poverty and violence in hope for something better. Sadly, the arrival of these youngsters has been greeted by flag-waving, sign-carrying, Bible-thumping and Constitution-quoting citizens demanding that they not be received here and that they be returned immediately to their

Comments:
The True Ugly American is the author of the article and those of same mindset. They seek to destroy America as a arbiter of Individual Freedom, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness. I am saddened that more Americans are not madder.

Non-Texans should understand that Bob Ray Sanders has been our local saddleburr for many years. I give him just a bit of credit for remaining firm in his misguided convictions over a lot of years when there were few black liberal writers in north Texas. However, I can never read his opinion pieces without remembering his claim to be a conscientious objector during Vietnam. He got away with it.

It seems to be ok with him that these "children" are making US immigration policy rather than the people of the US.

Go ahead Bob, tell me again why we need them because they come from a failed culture, in a lousy wothless country.

Now Bob, tell me what country you´d like to go set up shop in?

Perhaps....but in this case obomba brought out the worst before any knew of the ´children´ marching up to declare war on us. This invasion was planned when the skinny dark ass was sworn into office the first time....in plans for his second term Many knew that once hunkered down in our OVAL OFFICE we would never ever get him and his brood out the door again. His entire family has brought out the worst. Many of us have lost friendships and family members only due to the fact both sides felt they were on point...not bullet target point, but ´feelings, ideas, and intention point. How many have just cut off any and all communications with those that don´t agree? Frankly, when invited for Christmas and Thanksgiving, can´t begin to stomach sitting at a table breaking bread with those that wish to destroy our America. Also surprised that they can still own the idea they carry in our most treasured memories giving the frame of mind in which they live.

Rat congrresscritter on the Judge´s show last night started on his talking points regarding children, citizenship, immigrants. The Judge cut him off at the knees and said "Sorry, we´ve run out time time and thank you". Like the Judge, we´ve run out of time with no thanks to you This will not end till rats no longer have any say in governing.

My Granfather and Grandmother with their infant taken on Ellis Island where they legally entered the USA. The infant is my father.
What´s coming across our southern border is NOT worthy of the name immigrant. Do you think we are fools?
THEY are illegal aliens. DO NOT insult the memory of my Grandparents and the millions of other immigrants who came to America..THEY are welcome here.

While Bob Ray Sanders expresses "sadness" at the sight of Bible thumping, flag waving, law abiding Americans, I am encouraged. It is so refreshing to see ordinary citizens push back against corrupt politicians and bureaucracies.

Surely this cannot be what the left had in mind when it first realized cartels were exploiting the law...and did nothing to stop it.

US acceptance of a flood of unaccompanied children has puzzled Americans who thought we had border laws.

It is slowly dawning on American taxpayers that instead of denying the children entry, our government has chosen the alternative multi-year process of sending some back. The government hope in the meantime is that they can be reunited with their parents who had previously been allowed in seeking work.

There, fixed the headline and the first sentence.

How about a compromise Mr Sanders? Comprehensive Amnesty for a change in welfare, ebt etc, to reflect that an individual or family can only be on government assistance for a total of 1 year in every 5 years.

That might be unpalatable for good intentioned democrats, but it will demonstrate republicans are willing to compromise.

The flight information for the Ebola patient diagnosed in Texas will not be released by health officials because "It´s just not necessary," a spokesperson at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told ABC News. The CDC announced that the man has tested positive for the disease, making him the first person to have discovered he had the virus while on U.S. soil, and they made it clear that he traveled from Liberia to America to visit family in Dallas. "If we need to contact passengers we have a way. We´d call ourselves," the CDC spokesperson said. Even though the CDC will

It was not until two days later that the man was admitted to the Dallas hospital and put in isolation, it has been reported. It raises the frightening prospect that he was mixing freely with other people for a full two days while showing symptoms of the virus - the time when Ebola is most contagious. The unidentified patient has been in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital since Sunday, officials said. The hospital has launched a

Many recent surveys indicate that the vast majority of Americans feel our country is moving in the wrong direction. This country was intentionally designed to be different from others in which a monarch or strong central government controlled almost every aspect of the lives of its citizens. In most other nations, the lives of the populace conform to the will of the government. In America, the government is supposed to conform to the will of the people. Also in most other countries, it was declared that the rights of the people were conferred by the government; whereas, our founding documents indicate

It’s funny how President Obama is always talking about “I” and “me” whenever it makes him look good, but suddenly it’s “they” and “we” when mistakes are made. For instance, for years Obama boasted about how he ended the Iraq War and how he withdrew American troops. “You know I say what I mean and I mean what I say,” he boasted on the campaign trail in 2012. “I said I’d end the war in Iraq. I ended it.” Then, over the summer, as one Iraqi city after another fell to Islamic State militants, and as critics insisted that Obama’s decision to pull all our troops out of Iraq was partly to blame, he suddenly changed his tune,

The news that the U.S. Air Force, joined at long last by some of the Arab nations most threatened by the Islamic State (ISIS), began bombing their headquarters and military sites in Syria was long overdue, but welcome. It took time because Obama had originally dismissed ISIS as a threat. It no doubt took time to get Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia to team with the U.S., but missing from the action is Turkey that borders Syria and Egypt. Turkey has become increasingly Islamist, but appears determined to stay out of the war with ISIS. By initially
