Christie: Gay Marriage “Settled”
In New Jersey But Republicans
Shouldn’t Give Up Fight

Time Magazine, by Zeke J Miller

Original Article

Nashville - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Saturday that while same-sex marriage is “settled” in New Jersey, it’s not time for opponents to give up the fight. Speaking to reporters at the National Governors Association, Christie said it is not time for Republicans to drop the issue, which is entrenched in the party’s platform but contributes to the party’s difficulty with younger voters. “I don’t think that there’s going to be some major referee who’s going to say now it’s time to stop,” he said, referencing his own opposition to the unions. “Certainly I’m not going to, because these are opinions that I feel strongly about.”

Comments:
Christie weighs in on a hot button issue with conservative GOP voters.

Christie´s answer was about as responsive to the question as Hillary Clinton´s lawyerly answers are.
He really didn´t say a damn thing and was afraid to say how HE really felt or tried to persuade anyone.
This guy is NOT a leader.

Why are hot button issues considered "settled" only after the leftists get their way? Because leftists, unlike our supposedly conservative leaders, never ever give up or give in until they get their way.

There´s a lesson there. Apparently our leaders never learn that lesson.

#3, he gets more dates that way.

Man in his hubris can pretend to ignore God´s Natural Law, but it never ends well. Earlier this week Governor Moonbeam of the People´s Republic of Kalifornia signed a bill that removes the words "husband" and "wife" from California law. I´m hoping for a ringside seat when old Jerry stands before the Throne at the Last Judgement.

Gay marriage is settled in NJ.
Sharia law is settled in NJ.
High taxes are settled, but subject to further climbing in NJ.

Why would any reasonable person even consider voting for this nitwit.

With the Gaza death toll said to pass 700, Israeli military sources said several hundred Hamas gunmen had been killed. The IDF death toll is 35. IDF-Hamas fighting in Gaza remains intensive, and rockets are still being fired into Israel, but foreign airlines are returning to Ben-Gurion airport.

Moscow - Russia on Friday called the latest US accusations of Moscow´s involvement in the Ukrainian conflict a baseless "smear campaign" and said Washington bears responsibility for the bloodshed. "Due to the smear campaign against us that the US Administration has begun... we reject the unfounded public insinuations that US deputy State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf is spreading on a daily basis," a statement by the Russian foreign ministry said. Terrorists with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant have blown up the burial place of Jonah, the reluctant prophet from Galilee whose story of being swallowed by a massive sea creature is told in the Bible. Islam recognizes the existence of Jonah, also. ISIL radicals ringed the tomb with explosives and detonated it at a remote location, civil defense officials who witnessed the incident told CNN. A video of the explosion was posted to YouTube, but CNN said it couldn’t yet verify its authenticity. Jonah’s tomb had been inside the Mosque of the Prophet Younis, a Sunni-held facility. There are great American political fundraisers. And then there are Hillary and Bill Clinton, the first couple of American political fundraising. Few in American history have collected and benefited from so much money in so many ways over such a long period of time. Since they arrived on the national political scene 32 years ago, the Clintons have attracted at least $1.4 billion in contributions, according to a review of public records by TIME (Snip) Much of the money, raised through two Senate and three Presidential campaigns, was gathered together in small checks by an extensive network of donors and fundraisers.

Two years ago we were all going about our daily business blissfully unaware that our planet almost plunged into global catastrophe. A recent revelation by NASA explains how on July 23, 2012 Earth had a near miss with a solar flare, or Coronal Mass Ejection (CME), from the most powerful solar storm on the sun in over 150 years, but nobody decided to mention it. Err, what? Well that’s a sobering bit of news. “If it had hit, we would still be picking up the pieces,” says Daniel Baker of the University of Colorado. We managed to just avoid the event through lucky timing as the sun’s aim narrowly turned away from Earth.

Miami - Federal officials have capped the amount of money scofflaws will be forced to pay if they don't buy insurance this year at $2,448 per person and $12,240 for a family of five. The amount is equal to the national average annual premium for a bronze level health plan. But only those with an income above about a quarter of a million dollars would benefit from the cap. Those making less would still have to pay as much as 1 percent of their annual income. The penalty for the first year starts at $95 per adult or $47.50 per child under 18.

A skateboarder and four young pals emerged Wednesday as the unlikely suspects who eluded around-the-clock NYPD security to scale the venerable Brooklyn Bridge and raise two white flags. While cops had no real leads in the second day of their probe, the five youths wanted for questioning were described as in their late teens or early 20s, a source told the Daily News. There’s still no explanation for the removal of two U.S. flags or the bizarre substitution of two bleached-white American flags left flying above the bridge’s two towers Tuesday. New Yorkers on the bridge amid ramped-up security Wednesday were still wondering

A day before meeting with President Obama at the White House to discuss the border crisis, the presidents of Honduras and Guatemala blamed the wave of unaccompanied children inundating the U.S. on American foreign policy and on gridlock in Congress over immigration reform. Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez said ambiguity in Washington’s immigration debate has helped human smugglers, called “coyotes,” convince Central Americans that they can stay in the U.S. if they make the long, illegal journey. “That is a situation that the coyotes are very perversely taking very much an opportunity to exploit,”

President Obama told Democratic donors Wednesday night that most Americans don’t have time to think about the details of the Benghazi terrorist attack or the problems with Obamacare. I received a call from my sons’ school in March telling me that my oldest needed to be picked up early. He had been given a one-day suspension because he had thrown a chair. He did not hit anyone, but he could have, the school officials told me. JJ was 4 at the time. I agreed his behavior was inappropriate, but I was shocked that it resulted in a suspension. The president’s demeanor is worrying a lot of people. From the immigration crisis on the Mexican border to the Islamic State rising in Mesopotamia, Barack Obama seems totally detached from the world’s convulsions. When he does interrupt his endless rounds of golf, fundraising and photo ops, it’s for some affectless, mechanical, almost forced public statement. Regarding Ukraine, his detachment — the rote, impassive voice — borders on dissociation. His U.N. ambassador, Samantha Power, delivers an impassioned denunciation of Russia. Obama cautions that we not “get out ahead of the facts,” as if the facts of this case — Vladimir Putin’s

A year after news of the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, former First Lady Hillary Clinton allegedly told a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist that it was former President Bill Clinton’s abusive mother that caused his unfaithfulness and sex addiction, a new book claims. That journalist was Lucinda Franks and while her latest book, “Timeless: Love, Morgenthau, and Me,” doesn’t have much to do about the Clintons, the part that does offers never before reported information from a 1999 interview with the former First Lady. The New York Daily News obtained parts of the book a month before its scheduled August 2014 release.

On Saturday, more than 200 volunteers spread out across Vermont for the annual loon survey. The results of the survey are trickling in, but Eric Hanson of the Vermont Center for Ecostudies and the coordinator of the Vermont Loon Conservation Project, said there are many more birds now than just a few years ago. He said 15 years ago there were around 100 loons. In 1983, biologists counted only 29. "It is a decent, stable population. I'm hoping that actually things do start to level out.
