Christie: Gay Marriage “Settled”
In New Jersey But Republicans
Shouldn’t Give Up Fight

Time Magazine, by Zeke J Miller

Original Article

Nashville - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Saturday that while same-sex marriage is “settled” in New Jersey, it’s not time for opponents to give up the fight. Speaking to reporters at the National Governors Association, Christie said it is not time for Republicans to drop the issue, which is entrenched in the party’s platform but contributes to the party’s difficulty with younger voters. “I don’t think that there’s going to be some major referee who’s going to say now it’s time to stop,” he said, referencing his own opposition to the unions. “Certainly I’m not going to, because these are opinions that I feel strongly about.”

Comments:
Christie weighs in on a hot button issue with conservative GOP voters.

Christie´s answer was about as responsive to the question as Hillary Clinton´s lawyerly answers are.
He really didn´t say a damn thing and was afraid to say how HE really felt or tried to persuade anyone.
This guy is NOT a leader.

Why are hot button issues considered "settled" only after the leftists get their way? Because leftists, unlike our supposedly conservative leaders, never ever give up or give in until they get their way.

There´s a lesson there. Apparently our leaders never learn that lesson.

#3, he gets more dates that way.

Man in his hubris can pretend to ignore God´s Natural Law, but it never ends well. Earlier this week Governor Moonbeam of the People´s Republic of Kalifornia signed a bill that removes the words "husband" and "wife" from California law. I´m hoping for a ringside seat when old Jerry stands before the Throne at the Last Judgement.

Gay marriage is settled in NJ.
Sharia law is settled in NJ.
High taxes are settled, but subject to further climbing in NJ.

Why would any reasonable person even consider voting for this nitwit.

Egypt has a key role to play in countering Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria, US Secretary of State John Kerry said on a visit to Cairo. It saddens me that 20 years after my sister Nicole’s murder, we are still seeing the same crimes, just different names, over and over again. The Ray Rice case reflects our misunderstanding of what domestic violence is, and the Oscar Pistorius case reminds me so much of what happened to Nicole: victims defending their partners, and batterers blaming the victim. What is most chilling to me about what I have seen in the coverage of Ray Rice is that he has not atoned for his actions; he seems more concerned with how he is now viewed. And it’s Janay Palmer who is apologizing for her part of being knocked out cold.

Nestled under the Santa Ynez mountains and cooled by the Pacific Ocean breeze, the billionaires´ bolt hole of Montecito, California, seems at first glance like a palm tree-strewn idyll. The image I have of “Girls” star Lena Dunham, judging by last season’s episodes of the HBO series, is that of a girl riding a bicycle in the Hamptons in a two-piece bathing suit that is two sizes too small. Exposing her body in all of its glory is part of the Dunham hard-sell — you either buy into her “freedom at any cost” philosophy, or you don’t. How curious, then, that the New York Times, in choosing Dunham for the cover of its Culture Issue, on sale this Sunday, decided to photograph her as a piece of neoclassical art. The photographer, Victoria Diehl, modeled the Dunham portrait on a bust of Pauline Bonaparte as Venus Victrix

Dallas - Good coaches are also teachers, and Tricia Roos is a good coach. The Bishop Lynch volleyball team has won three state championships in her seven years as head coach. This season should be particularly special, not only because Bishop Lynch is trying to win its third state title in a row, but also because Coach Roos is five-and-a-half months pregnant. But what should be a time of joy has become, as she puts it, "a teaching moment." (Snip) Coach Roos´ baby has trisomy 18, a chromosome disorder so bad that doctors recommended terminating the pregnancy. Roos chose to keep her baby.

Australia has raised its terror alert level to "high" for the first time since the national alert system was introduced in 2003. According to the four-level system, a reading of "high" means a terrorist attack "is likely," however the country´s Prime Minister Tony Abbott said no specific threat had been made. "This does not mean a terror attack is imminent, we have no specific intelligence of particular plots. What we do have is intelligence that there are people with the intent and capability to mount attacks," Abbott said at a press conference in Canberra on Friday.

Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Eisenhower simply explained what had been done, and why.

Cruz agreed to speak to this group, which included bishops of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, ostensibly out of solidarity, but took the occasion to antagonize them over their insufficient praise for Israel, then smeared them as anti-Semites before dropping the mic. The report by the California Attorney General´s office is the first time the data has been broken down according to race and income levels. Officials say such data is needed to address the problem. Poverty and suspensions are contributing factors. Overall, more than 250,000 elementary school students missed 10 percent or more of the 2013-2014 school year or roughly 18 or more school days. Check your hygiene privilege. Cabbies who smell badly are probably just oppressed folks who came directly from their terrorist training camp to the airport and didn’t have time to change. Body odour is among 52 criteria that officials at San Diego International Airport use to judge taxi drivers. Cabbies say that smacks of prejudice and discrimination. It does discriminate between cabbies who smell like an open sewer and those who don’t. It further prejudges what a good smell is.
