Israel Says It Struck a Gaza
Mosque Containing Weapons

New York Times, by Isabel Kershner

The Israeli military said on Saturday that overnight it had struck a mosque in central Gaza that held a concealed weapons cache. The move was likely to fan Palestinian outrage during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In Gaza, health officials said that the death toll from the Israeli airstrikes had reached 120, with hundreds more wounded. Many of those killed and wounded were said to be civilians, including women and children. Israel’s military said that over five days of fighting it had struck more than 1,160 targets in Gaza, including rocket launchers, weapon manufacturing and storage facilities and private

We are shocked that Muslim places of worship are being used to store weapons. Shocked.

gee, what´s next as hiding places - hospitals, schools, old folks homes, ambulances? oh, wait, they already thought of those. the heck with the value of human life. we know that now as leaflets were handed out telling people NOT to abandon homes during sorties, but rather to run to roof tops and present themselves as human shields. these are people who dress their kids in suicide bomber get-ups for fun grisly, immoral - where is the UN condemnation?

The international community has already made its mind up that Israel is already the aggressor no matter what the provocation.

So the key is to continue to seek out the armories and destroy them where ever they are located.

Meanwhile, ISIS continues to blow up mosques in Iraq during their locust-like advance and have even threatened to destroy "sacred" sites in Mecca. We don´t see muzzy outrage over that, only fear and hand wringing. I say let them continue, it will be fewer barbarians to kill when they turn their attention to the West and to Israel.

I just wish that whenever Israel strikes any target containing weapon storage that they would release the number of secondary explosions. After all, munitions contain high explosive material and are going to blow up when some other explosive hits them or near them. That way, the crying about hitting mosques and homes can be countered with just what is/was contained in those places.

I disagree with poster #9. The IDF should wait for the next rocket to hit inside Jerusalem, then quietly level the Dome of the Rock.

Then, the Israelis (probably Bibi) can announce they are shocked shocked that a rocket from Gaza hit that important historical icon, one of the most revered mosques in all Islam, the venerable Dome of the Rock. (and IF it were filled with Muslims at the time, so much the better)

Barack Obama’s presidency isn’t just shrinking, it’s losing support among its most critical point — its base. Less than two years ago, Barack Obama became the first Democratic president since FDR to win re-election with a popular-vote majority. In 2012, Mr. Obama won among women 55 percent to 44 percent. Today, his approval rating among women is 41 percent, with
