How liberalism became
an intolerant dogma

The Week, by Damon Linker

Original Article

At the risk of sounding like Paul Krugman — who returns to a handful of cherished topics over and over again in his New York Times column — I want to revisit one of my hobby horses, which I most recently raised in my discussion of Hobby Lobby. My own cherished topic is this: Liberalism´s decline from a political philosophy of pluralism into a rigidly intolerant dogma. The decline is especially pronounced on a range of issues wrapped up with religion and sex. For a time, electoral self-interest kept these intolerant tendencies in check, since the strongly liberal position on

Liberalism follows the tenants of jihadist muslims. Their way or the highway. Complete destruction of the constitution follows.

Liberalism is no longer liberal. It must be given a new name, one that truly describes its philosophy.

For the time being, I think of it as leftism.

No. This money will, literally, be eaten up and Obama will then ask for more. Use the money only to build fenses. Otherwise we will be feeding the world which will continue to pour in here.

The philosophy of liberalism has its roots in the denial of God´s sovereignty over man. They do not acknowledge there is a God and have, therefore, made themselves god. It simply is the oldest political philosophy known to man. It is man´s refusal to accept any authority but their own. That is why they so vehemently reject God. They do not wish to be held accountable. They will make their own way. Unfortunately, their numbers have swelled and we are seeing the complete intolerance of any dissent. Liberalism is anything but liberal. It is a strict adherence to the dogma that states that man is the ultimate arbitrator of right and wrong and God does not exist.

So...
Short version.
Government is not God.
Politics is not religion.
Under the doctrine of Separation of Church and State,
liberals should not be allowed to vote!

Excellent!

Hushed, determined Israel
in a war ‘for our home’
Times of Israel, by David Horovitz    Original Article

There’s a kind of hush over Israel at the moment. The streets are emptier; the cars are honking less; cafes are not deserted but they’re quieter; young kids’ laughter in the little park near our office rings out startlingly loud and carefree. We’re a nation glued to the news — to the TV, the radio, the internet. And it’s almost unremittingly grim. Just a few days ago, we were worrying about hundreds of rockets hitting all over Israel, and shaking our heads at the mini-miracle of Iron Dome intercepting most of them. Now it’s the residents of the kibbutzim and

The Emergency Committee for Israel has just released a statement in response to President Obama´s call for a cease-fire in Gaza."Israel does not need a mediator. Israel needs an ally," reads the statement. "Pressuring Israel to agree to a cease-fire that rescues Hamas from defeat and leaves it in possession of its missiles, tunnels, and terror infrastructure is foolish and wrong. If President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry want to advance the cause of peace in the Middle East, they should support Israel and its campaign to end the terror threat from Gaza." When asked just how vulnerable former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is to a challenge from her left, the Acela Corridor’s political class is quick to note that 2016 is not 2008. They observe that the factors which made Clinton vulnerable to a challenge from then Sen. Barack Obama in 2008 simply do not exist today. For example, those grounded political reporters say, the former secretary is wildly popular among Democrats. They cite polling data which shows the former secretary leading her most likely challenger – the sitting Vice President of the United States – often by more than 30 points. Finally, they

President Barack Obama announced last week that his “big motto” for the United States Congress is “do something.” After winning the presidency with some other “big” slogans, all the president is asking the Congress to do six years later is to “hope” again.(Snip)Congressional Republicans would do well to remind voters of the dangers of a Democratic Congressional majority and avoid all temptations to formulate a me-too Progressive-lite agenda for the fall campaign. But they’ll need to do more in order to stop, much less reverse, the advance of the Progressive leviathan. A good example of what this type of action looks

Hillary Clinton has earned at least $12 million in 16 months since leaving the State Department, a windfall at odds with her party’s call to shrink the gap between the rich and the poor. Clinton’s income since her resignation as secretary of state in February 2013 is derived mostly from her latest memoir, speeches and paid appearances at corporate retreats, according to an analysis of data compiled by Bloomberg. At least 12 organizations that previously booked President Bill Clinton -- who has been paid almost $106 million in speaking fees alone since he left the White House -- also hired his wife.

SAN ANTONIO — Gov. Rick Perry is expected to announce Monday that he will activate up to 1,000 Texas National Guard troops to the Rio Grande Valley, state Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen, confirmed Sunday night. Perry wants these troops to bolster the work already being done with a surge of Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, said Hinojosa´s spokeswoman, Jennifer Saenz, who added that the governor gave the Valley legislative delegation notice before the planned 2 p.m. announcement on border security. “The senator understands that Perry wants this troop buildup, but is not sure what kind of federal approval he needs

Long gone, evidently, are the days when the late, great Sonny Bono, asked for his position on illegal immigration, answered: “My position? What do you mean, my position? It’s illegal!” Still, I have never understood the claim that open borders is a winning political issue for the Democrats. That is borne out in the most recent Rasmussen Reports survey: Most voters don’t want any of the young illegal immigrants who’ve recently arrived here housed in their state and say any legislation passed by Congress to deal with the problem should focus on sending them home as soon as possible. A majority of voters are unimpressed with Hillary Clinton’s performance as secretary of state, according to a new POLITICO poll. Just 14 percent described her time at State — she served four years ending in February 2013 — as “excellent,” while 28 percent defined it as “good.” Twenty-one percent called it “fair,” and 32 percent rated her performance “poor.” Six percent weren’t sure or declined to answer. Something has gone wrong in our civil service. Consider some recent developments. The IRS was forced to pay the National Organization for Marriage $50,000 for leaking the group’s donor list. Tea-party organizations and donors were much more likely than others to be audited by the IRS. This misbehavior was not the work of a few rogue employees in Cincinnati. In general, the IRS stalled tea-party applications for status as 501(c)(4) groups. Meanwhile, April Sands, an employee of the FEC, recently pleaded guilty to violating the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from campaigning at the office. Ms. Sands, who worked in

In December of 2012, speaking in front of a union audience, President Obama was cheered when he claimed that “right-to-work” laws – laws that allow employees to decide for themselves whether to join a union – were all about politics and had nothing to do with economics. In other words, he was advocating for forced unionism. Turns out he was incredibly wrong.(Snip for map)The Competitive Enterprise Institute just released a study analyzing countrywide economic activity from 1977-2012, and here are the key results: Wages – Median income loss per-person is $3,278, or $13,100 for a family of four, in forced-unionism states. THE PEW Research Center last week released a new survey of American attitudes in the Middle East. The results weren’t surprising. In the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, 51 percent of Americans say they sympathize more with Israel. Only 14 percent feel greater affinity for the Palestinians. Pew’s findings demonstrate the strength of pro-Israel feeling in the United States. The poll was conducted amid the current fighting with Hamas, but the bottom line hardly changed from Pew’s last survey in April, when it reported that in the 36 years it has been sampling public opinion, “sympathy toward Israel has never

At a political event in Wilmington, Delaware, on Thursday, President Obama devoted only 40 seconds to the shooting down of the Malaysian airline, his first statement to the world following the news. His emotionless reference to the attack as ‘a terrible tragedy’ seemed disconnected from the horrific moment, particularly as he immediately reverted to script to praise his administration and criticise Republicans. It was a far cry from President Reagan’s 1983 fierce denunciation of the Soviet shooting down of a Korean airliner as a ‘crime against humanity’. Convinced that their region has suffered as much Obama administration meddling as it can possibly stand, Israel and Egypt took the extraordinary step earlier this week of jointly rejecting requests by US Secretary of State John Kerry to involve himself in ceasefire talks with the terrorist group Hamas. Israeli and Egyptian diplomats both claim Egyptian efforts to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas collapsed as a direct result of Secretary Kerry’s announcement he was prepared to join the talks. A pernicious, little-known Obama administration policy – one that that incentivizes adult illegal immigrants to use children as human shields to escape arrest and deportation at the border – largely has escaped the media’s notice. This same policy is driving the historic surge of children at the border, as everyone from coyotes to illegal immigrant adults already in America seeks to use children to guarantee their safe passage into the country, or to protect them from deportation if they are illegally living here. The flood of illegal immigrant children, piling up like human debris on the US border, won’t stop

LOS ANGELES — Actor James Garner, whose whimsical style in the 1950s TV Western “Maverick” led to a stellar career in TV and films such as “The Rockford Files” and his Oscar-nominated “Murphy’s Romance,” has died, police said. He was 86. He was found dead of natural causes at his home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles Saturday evening, Los Angeles police officer Alonzo Iniquez said early Sunday. Police responded to a call around 8 p.m. PDT and confirmed Garner’s identity from family members, Iniquez told The Associated Press. There was no immediate word on a more specific cause of death. Garner had suffered a stroke in May 2008, just weeks after his 80th birthday.
