Union leader derides
Obama education chief

Associated Press, by Michael R. Blood

LOS ANGELES — The president of the nation´s second-largest teachers union said Friday that President Barack Obama´s education chief has turned his back on the concerns of educators and parents, but she stopped short of calling for his ouster. Teachers unions have been clashing with the Obama administration over its support for charter schools and its push to use student test scores as part of teacher evaluations, a relationship that further frayed after Education Secretary Arne Duncan spoke in support of a California judge´s ruling last month that struck down tenure and other job protections for the state´s public school

Teacher´s union motto: Keep the students dumb so the unions can keep their greed going.

This decision will not bring about improvement in teacher performance. It will be used (and already is being used) to justify interference by the Feds in demanding teachers be removed from suburban schools and made to work in the inner cities. The good teachers will quit and quality education will be totally unavailable in public schools.

The Curious Case(s) Of The
Missing Media Polling Reports

Yesterday we noted that CNN had buried their poll reflecting vast unfavorable public opinion of President Obama. Indeed, even though the poll was taken by CNN/ORC they didn’t even provide the raw poll data that’s customarily available. Instead they couched their perspective on the information inside an article discussing Syria and ISIS: [...] Obama’s upcoming speech comes as two Americans were murdered and grisly images and stories of the terrorist group needlessly killing enemies have emerged from Iraq and Syria. So far, Americans are not happy with how Obama has addressed the ISIS situation. The CNN/ORC poll shows that only

The St. Louis County prosecutor’s office is taking an unusual approach with grand jury members who are weighing evidence against the police officer who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown last month, experts and county officials said. Instead of telling grand jury members what charges they believe police officer Darren Wilson should face, they are leaving it open-ended for now and involving the grand jury as co-investigators. The prosecutor’s office is also presenting evidence to the grand jury as soon as it receives it, rather than waiting until the St. Louis County Police Department and the FBI have completed their investigations.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Video of Ray Rice´s attack on his then-fiancee apparently was the last straw for the Baltimore Ravens, who announced Monday afternoon they´ve terminated the embattled running back´s contract. Rice, a three-time Pro Bowler and who helped Baltimore to a Super Bowl title in the 2012 season, was charged with third-degree aggravated assault following a Feb. 15 incident at a casino in Atlantic City, N.J., in which he alleged knocked out his then fiancé and now wife, Janay Palmer (now Janay Rice).Initially, Rice and Palmer both were charged with simple assault. The Atlantic County prosecutor´s office later dropped the charge against her.

Not to put too fine a point on it, yet knowing President Polling is going to deliver a magnanimous prime-time speech in a few days, the Syrian conversation with Chuck Todd needs, or, well, deserves a little e-x-p-a-n-s-i-o-n. (Tweet)During a rather revealing part of the interview between Chuck Todd and President Obama the specific issue of Syria came up surrounding ISIS. Viewers should note in the entire dialogue it was not Obama who brought up Syria, it was Chuck Todd. Washington said on Sunday it had carried out air strikes against jihadists in Iraq´s Sunni Arab heartland, expanding its month-long air campaign and its involvement in the conflict. It was a significant escalation for President Barack Obama, who made his political career opposing the war in Iraq and pulled out US troops in 2011. Previous strikes since Obama launched the US air campaign on August 8 had been mainly in support of Kurdish forces in the north. US warplanes bombed Islamic State (IS) jihadists around a strategic dam on the Euphrates River in an area that the jihadists have repeatedly tried to capture

Authorities in Pasco County say the girl torched the Port Richey home she shared with her mother and 9-year-old brother early Thursday. They say she soaked a towel and a bed sheet with bleach and rum and set it on fire in the garage. The mom and the boy were sleeping at the time. They fled the burning house

Earlier in the campaign, unionists enjoyed a double-digit lead, an advantage which has quickly vanished in the past fortnight. The Obama administration will make a decision on executive action to prevent corporations from leaving the country in the "very near future," Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said Monday morning. Speaking at an event on business taxes at the Urban Institute in Washington, Lew placed the responsibility on Congress to address so-called tax inversions, but said that the administration was prepared to step in if lawmakers don´t move quickly enough. Inversions are tax maneuvers in which corporations buy firms in low-tax countries in order to place their headquarters in that country. Such deals have grown in number in recent months, with
