Rick Perry´s Moment
Power Line, by Paul Mirengoff

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 7/11/2014 8:33:12 PM

The crisis at our southern border, coupled with President Obama’s visit to Texas, has propelled Rick Perry back into the limelight. And Perry has made the most of this unexpected opportunity. Perry would like to be known nationally for more than his embarrassing run for president during the last cycle. In the words of this article from Buzz Feed, the border crisis has enabled him “to be out in front on an issue he knows well: the border.” According to the same article, Perry’s expertise “was on display when [he] took his spot in front of the dais” at a Homeland Security field hearing on border crisis last week.

Comments:
This is a wonderful article showing how well Perry has done during this crisis. I was sorry to see him fall apart in the last election. I would vote for him in a heartbeat. Perry/Walker?

After putting up with almost 8 years of an irresponsible, inexperienced and egotist for a POTUS, an outstanding person like Perry is a breath of fresh air. I just want to see a conservative Repub. candidate who will look out for the American people. His job will be astronomical. Therefore, anyone who gets the nomination will not be perfect but will try to bring dignity and respect to the office of the POTUS and scrape the remains of this horrid administration from our memories. We need someone to rebuild our trust in the manner our forefathers intended.

Whether or not Governor Perry is a player in 2016, I hope he stays out front, doing and saying things that leaders do. He´s a great contrast to the poser in chief. The hard thing will be to keep him in the press, but it´s doable.

I´d like to see Perry take charge, bypass Obama and enforce the border then make Obama try to make him stand down.

Perry needs an injection of Ronald Reagan´s courage and conviction. He needs to go to the border to demand: "Mr. Obama, do your Constitutional duty, SECURE THIS BORDER."

I´m not holding my breath. He´s wanting that Federal overtime money for his law enforcers, and the "refugees" out of Texas.

Homeland Security Sec.: We’re Unaware

Earlier today, the British government raised its terror threat level to “severe,” suggesting a very likely terrorist attack by ISIS on British soil. In response, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson issued a statement saying the government is unaware of any “credible threat” on U.S. soil from ISIS. Johnson says, “At present, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are unaware of any specific, credible threat to the U.S. homeland from ISIL.” He does go on to acknowledge that they have the “intent and capability to target American citizens overseas,” and naturally they’re still “an active and serious threat within

Ed Henry Grills Earnest:
How Can Obama Fundraise

Last night Fox News’ Ed Henry could barely contain how stunned he was about President Obama saying there’s no concrete strategy to combat ISIS in Syria yet. And at today’s press briefing, Henry really grilled Josh Earnest over Obama attending fundraisers just a day after that candid admission. Henry brought up the fundraising, as well as the golfing on vacation, and asked, “Is he detached? Does he feel like the critics coming after him––it doesn’t matter anymore? Why is he still raising campaign money, playing golf when he’s acknowledging he doesn’t have a strategy to deal with this?” Earnest insisted

The Silicon Valley power substation that was attacked by a sniper in April 2013 was hit by thieves early Wednesday morning, according to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, despite increased security. The substation, near San Jose, Calif., is the source of energy for thousands of customers, and the idea that it was the target of a well-organized attack, and that it might have been disabled for an extended period, raised anxieties about the possible broader vulnerability of the grid. The attack this week did not involve gunfire, and it did not seem intended to disable the facility. Early Wednesday, an unknown

FERGUSON, Mo.- A lawsuit has been filed seeking the release of any juvenile records that might exist on the central figure in the Ferguson deadly shooting case. The Citizen Journalist website GotNews has filed suit in St. Louis County circuit court seeking possible juvenile records on Michael Brown. Attorney Johnathon Burns of the Burns Law Firm in St. Louis is handling the case. “What we’re arguing is that since he is deceased, those documents revert from being confidential, they revert back into the public sphere,” Burns says. “Missouri common law applies, and under Missouri common law, court records and virtually

We don´t have a strategy yet to attack Islamic State. But they are developing a strategy to attack us. A laptop found by Syrian rebels last January in an ISIS hideout proved to be a goldmine of information. Foreign Policy´s Harald Doornbos and Jenan Moussa got their hands on the machine, downloaded 146 gigabytes of material, and were shocked at what they found: The laptop´s contents turn out to be a treasure trove of documents that provide ideological justifications for jihadi organizations -- and practical training on how to carry out the Islamic State´s deadly campaigns. MSNBC host Chris Hayes asked President Barack Obama´s top spokesman, White House press secretary Josh Earnest, on Thursday. Earnest went with "no." "No, Chris. There have been several reports of American citizens joining (and even dying for) ISIS, and now a man in Chicago was arrested this week after waving an ISIS flag out the window of his car and threatening to detonate a bomb when the police tried to inspect the vehicle. A resident called police upon seeing Emad Karakrah with the ISIS flag hanging out of his car. When police responded, Karakrah drove off, and made it through several red lights before being pulled over. And then, as he was being arrested, Karakrah reportedly made a serious threat. A growing number of Americans say they believe the U.S. Department of Justice is motivated primarily by political interests and not by the pursuit of the truth, according to a survey from Rasmussen Reports. The poll, which was conducted on Aug. 26-27 and contains a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points, found that only 38 percent of U.S. voters hold a favorable opinion of the department headed by Attorney General Eric Holder, while a much larger 53 percent hold an unfavorable opinion. The former Army psychiatrist who killed 13 people in the 2009 shooting spree at Fort Hood has said it would be ´an honor´ to join the caliphate in a letter to ISIS, it has been reported. Nidal Hasan has apparently requested to be made a ´citizen soldier´ of the caliphate in the letter to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Hasan opened fire on his fellow servicemen and women on November 5, killing 13 and injuring 30 others. He was shot and paralyzed from the waist down in the resulting gunfire and was sentenced to death last year. Earlier this year FBI Director

I feel confident in saying that most Americans are disgusted by the perfectly legal practice of U.S. companies avoiding taxes by incorporating in another country. So why does it take a whopper of a story to get the media to pay attention? Burger King, as you know, is moving to buy the Canadian chain Tim Hortons, and this is more about dollars than doughnuts. The hamburger giant plans to move its headquarters to Canada, thereby slashing its Treasury tax bill. The White House doesn’t like it. Democrats don’t like it. The Republicans don’t like it. President Obama’s plan to schmooze Wall Street honchos at a Westchester fund-raiser Friday is grounding wealthy weekenders who planned to fly to the Hamptons or Nantucket for the Labor Day holiday. Jerry Brown’s desk to ban California from displaying or selling the Confederate flag or objects with images of it. The state’s Legislature passed the bill nearly unanimously last week. Assemblyman Isadore Hall III, D-Compton, introduced the legislation after his mother discovered the Capitol gift shop sold a replica of Confederate money that contained a picture of the flag, according to the L.A. The last two Republican candidates for president have been among the weakest GOP candidates in 50 years. Barack Obama presented Mitt Romney with a gift in 2012: A struggling economy, sluggish growth, a paucity of jobs, and a health care law that was extremely unpopular. In what should have been a landslide rejection of Obama´s policies, Romney flubbed it big time and allowed his opponent to define him - and Republicans - in the most unflattering way imaginable.
