White House says ´14 budget
deficit to be $583 billion

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Rebecca Shabad

Original Article

The White House budget office on Friday projected the 2014 budget deficit would be $583 billion, about $66 billion less than projected earlier this year. In the mid-session review by the Office of Management and Budget, the administration found the deficit would be 3.4 percent of GDP and nearly $1 billion less than last year’s deficit. Acting OMB Director Brian Deese touted the recent decline in unemployment as a factor in the lower deficit projection. “Businesses have added nearly 10 million new jobs over the past 52 months,” he wrote in a blog post. Deese also cited rising home prices as lifting more

Comments:
Oh puhleeze!! These hacks lie so freely and easily it is just infuriating. Brian Deese touted the recent decline in unemployment?? Those figures are corrupted and are lies. What else would you expect from Deese who was a senior policy analyst for economic policy at the Center for American Progress and a hack who worked for the Obama campaign. That tells you all you need to know!

Let´s see, $66 billion short and he wants a random $3.7 billion for border with a little going towards wildfires.

A fool and our money is soon parted. No idea what to do with OPM.

When Donald Sterling had to sell the Los Angeles Clippers because he was caught on tape saying he didn’t want his mistress bringing black people to his basketball games, many people cheered. But if you had paid much attention to Sterling prior to the TMZ-leaked audio, you probably didn’t cheer—not because you weren’t troubled by Sterling’s comments, but because Sterling’s downfall over those particular comments felt a bit anticlimactic. In just the last five or six years the world has been fundamentally transformed. Instead of the old accustomed Western-inspired postwar global order, crafted and ensured by the United States and its European and Japanese partners, there is now mostly chaos, from Ukraine to Syria to the South China Sea. Or, rather, there may be emerging new rules, given that we are still frozen in a Wild West moment, when everyone in the saloon has drawn his six-shooter, paused, and is wondering what happened to the sheriff — and wondering, too, who will be the first to dare start shooting.

President Obama tonight ordered sending 350 additional troops into Iraq to bolster security at the United States embassy in Baghdad. This is in addition to the 300 military advisors the president sent into Iraq back in June that he maintained would not mean a “return to combat.” The White House statement reads, in part, “This action was taken at the recommendation of the Department of Defense after an extensive interagency review, and is part of the President’s commitment to protect our personnel and facilities in Iraq as we continue to support the Government of Iraq in its fight against the

President Obama said last Thursday that he doesn´t "have a strategy yet" to combat the Islamic State in the Middle East. Worse is what Obama didn´t say — not one word about how to prevent the IS from attacking us right here in the U.S. That´s despite security experts warning Congress repeatedly that the IS´ gory threats to spill American blood should be taken seriously. Compare Obama´s inaction to Prime Minister David Cameron´s decisive action. After British security experts raised the terrorist threat assessment there to "severe," meaning an attack is "highly likely," Cameron called for revoking passports of British citizens returning

In the midst of the summer recess, Sen. The June 9 inquiry, addressed to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson, led to the revelation that of those thousands released, 169 had been convicted of “homicide-related” offenses. “The public needs to know when a person is in the country illegally, and

Jimmy Carter left the Southern Baptist Church a few years back, citing its “rigid” views. President Obama needs to take action to stop Islamic State (Isis) militants from targeting cities in America and Western Europe, two senators have warned. Because I am a black conservative, someone wrote asking me this great question. “What is it that compels some black men and women to cling to, and follow people like Sharpton, Jackson, Wright, Obama, Spike Lee, Black Panthers, Holder, etc.?” I have pondered the same question. Some black folks embrace victim status because it provides cover for their laziness and irresponsible lifestyles. Black Judases preach a false, evil gospel of victimhood-ism for profit. Between 1970 and 1990, the population of Philadelphia shrank by a quarter, dropping from 1.95 to 1.59 million. Like many American cities, it seemed caught in a downward spiral. Since then – like many American cities – Philadelphia has stabilized. The population now appears to have bottomed out at the millennium, and has been regaining residents over the past decade. But as it rebounds, Philly is becoming a different kind of city. In the two most recent decades, which comprise the bounce of the city’s population curve, owner-occupied housing dropped even more steeply than in the ’70s and ’80s. Between 2000 and
