Polar vortex to hit US with
midsummer cold blast

New York Post, by Chris Perez

It’s the revenge of the polar vortex! A frigid cold air system will be moving through the eastern United States next week, leading to intense weather conditions reminiscent of last year’s dreaded polar vortex. The approaching weather system is expected to bring overwhelmingly below-average temperatures to parts of the northern and northeastern US next week, beginning Monday or Tuesday, according to the Washington Post. States located in areas such as the High Plains, the central US and the Great Lakes could see temperatures 20 to 30 degrees below their current averages. That means people normally dealing with scorching temperatures sometimes

Comments:
I just checked my "weather bug" for 10-day forecast. No vortex temps showing up during that time. It´s barely reached the high 80s so far this summer.

Low 80s here by midweek, unheard of for July in Middle Tennessee. Usually 90+ like it will this weekend.
I welcome the moderate temps.

Pasta maker Barilla apologized four times for its chairman’s goofy, gay-dissing remarks last fall. But the company’s culinary orientation is beyond forgiving, judging by its recently opened, quick-serve Manhattan cafe. Since Academia Barilla launched a few months ago, reviewers have ignored it, even though the press couldn’t get enough of Barilla during last year’s uproar. Maybe it’s a boycott as demanded by gay-rights organizations after Barilla chairman Guido Barilla said he’d never use gays in commercials because he prefers “traditional” families.
