MSNBC’s Luke Russert Cuts Off
Dem Rep. to Break LeBron James News

n case you didn’t already believe that MSNBC’s Luke Russert is cable news’ biggest dudebro, he may have sealed the deal while filling in for Andrea Mitchell today. Just after 12:30pm ET on Friday, Russert brought on Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) to discuss the partisan gridlock in Washington. King began going after a Republican Congress that “insists on suing the president” and “refuses to do almost anything” but only got to answer one real question before he was ushered off the screen. After speaking to his guest for a total of about 60 seconds, Russert cut the interview short to

Next to Ronan Farrell-Sinatra, Luke Russert is the most overrated kid in the NBC stable of "stars".

MSNBC has Russert filing in for Chuck Todd quite often. Russert thinks he´s quit something! I can only watch for about 5 minutes and then I have to turn back to FOX where I belong!

Even mentioning the latest LeBron James "news" is ludicrous much less making it Breaking News, but this article is ridiculous. But what do you think the on-air person´s earpiece is for- so they can follow the producer´s instruction, change topics, cut off a guest, or whatever. Russet, like all on-air people on all networks, has no choice but to do what he is told. The headline and then saying Russert didn´t seem upset changing to the James announcement shows nothing but the personal agenda of the author.against Russert who only did as instructed to do. All the networks pushed the James story today. He´s full of crap to begin with. He left Cleveland to win a championship ring in Miami and now he´s back in Cleveland for more money.

They´re just trying to keep pace with Andrea Mitchell, who breathlessly cut off a Congresswoman Jane Harman (D-CA) as they were discussing spying by the NSA.
The ´breaking news´ that time?

And Andrea of course was only following the instructions in her earpiece, too.

DOHUK, Iraq — American military forces bombed at least two targets in northern Iraq on Thursday night to rout Islamist insurgents who have trapped tens of thousands of religious minorities in Kurdish areas, Kurdish officials said. Word of the bombings, reported on Kurdish television from the city of Erbil, came as President Obama was preparing to make a statement in Washington. Kurdish officials said the bombings targeted fighters from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria who had seized two towns, Gwer and Mahmour. Residents who had fled those areas by car were heard honking their horns in approval. But

WASHINGTON — President Obama is considering airstrikes or airdrops of food and medicine to address a humanitarian crisis among as many as 40,000 members of religious minorities in Iraq, who have been dying of heat and thirst on a mountaintop where they took shelter after death threats from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, administration officials said on Thursday. In meetings with his national security team at the White House on Thursday morning, Mr. Obama weighed a series of options, ranging from dropping humanitarian supplies on Mount Sinjar to mounting military strikes on the fighters from ISIS who are

Of the 10 organizations donating the most to political super PACs for the 2014 election, seven favor liberal groups. They have spent a combined $58 million in the current election cycle. By contrast, only two of the top 10 favor conservative groups, sending them about $8 million. The remaining top 10 donor, the National Association of Realtors, favors neither. That´s according to new figures compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics. The list isn´t comprehensive because groups organized as 501(c)4 nonprofits are not required to disclose their donors. Still, it refutes the widely held assumption that conservative sources are the

The Pentagon moved swiftly to shoot down a New York Times report Thursday afternoon that American military forces had bombed at least two places in northern Iraq targeting fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). "Press reports that US has conducted airstrikes in Iraq completely false. No such action taken," Rear Adm. John Kirby, the Pentagon press secretary, wrote on Twitter. President Barack Obama is preparing to make a statement Thursday evening, the Times reported. The White House didn´t immediately respond to a request for comment.

The senator’s broad appeal threatens to weaken Democrats for 2016, and they are going on offense—sending out no less than 10 press releases on his latest trip to Iowa. Democrats fundraise and campaign by exploiting concerns about right-wing extremism. But at least at the moment, what they apparently fear most is the rise of a candidate who could potentially poach enough of their supporters to beat them in 2016. Rand Paul has not yet formally announced he is running for the Republican nomination. But with a lead in GOP polls and already laying the foundation for the infrastructure of a

President Obama gave a press conference this evening. He started a little over an hour late without explanation. Reporters stuck to asking questions that they evidently knew Obama would be comfortable answering. None of them asked him about any of his administration scandals. ABC’s Jon Karl, usually a tough questioner of Obama and his spokesmen, asked a rambling question that played right into the Democrats’ “economic patriotism” canard. Despite the fact that the president showed a passionless, bloodless, disinterested face to the world, he still managed to do some damage. Chris Jansing of CNN asked Obama if the sanctions against Russia are working.

Sen. Pat Roberts fended off an aggressive challenger Tuesday in the Kansas Republican primary, dealing another blow to a national tea party movement that has targeted longtime Washington incumbents. Milton Wolf, 43, a Leawood radiologist making his first run for public office, failed to pull the upset in the race against Roberts, 78, whose political dates to the late 1960s, when he was a congressional aide. After surviving the primary, Roberts is a huge favorite to win his fourth, six-year term in November. Republicans enjoy a nearly 20 percentage-point advantage among registered voters and have won every U.S. Senate race

Former president Jimmy Carter called on the West to recognize the U.S.-designated terrorist group Hamas as a legitimate "political actor" that represents the bulk of the Palestinian population. Carter made the comments in an article he co-wrote with former Irish president Mary Robinson in a new issue of Foreign Policy magazine. It was published as a cease-fire took hold Tuesday after four weeks of fighting between Israel and Hamas, which governs Gaza. In a sharply worded rebuke to Israel, Carter and Robinson said, "There is no humane or legal justification for the way the Israeli Defense Forces are conducting this war."

Dozens of government watchdogs are sounding the alarm that the Obama administration is stonewalling them, in what is being described as an unprecedented challenge to the agencies they´re supposed to oversee. Forty-seven of the government´s 73 independent watchdogs known as inspectors general voiced their complaints in a letter to congressional leaders this week. They accused several major agencies -- the Justice Department, the Peace Corps and the chemical safety board -- of imposing "serious limitations on access to records." The inspectors general are now appealing to Congress to help them do their jobs uncovering waste, fraud, and mismanagement.
