California church handing out
‘travel cash’ to illegals heading east

Washington Times, by Cheryl K. Chumley

A Catholic church in a California community has opened its doors to the influx of illegals making their way across the border, giving temporary shelter — and cash — to 46 of them who were waiting for bus rides to spots around the country. San Bernardino Diocese spokesman John Andres told Breitbart that the church handed out “travel cash” to 14 adults and 32 children who were headed east, specifically to New York or New Jersey. “The Catholic Church welcomed us,” an immigrant named Bianca told CBS’s Los Angeles affiliate. “We are here. We are OK.” The cash disbursements and church aid comes as protesters down the road

As a Catholic, I am ashamed of the misguided idiots within that are breaking the law in an attempt to follow liberation theology. This philosophy has been taught at the seminary for the archdiocese of LA for at least two generations now & was in open conflict with my conservative father who served as a deacon there for 19 years.

I plan to contact the church and give bus fare for everyone they can send to the upper east side of NYC and towns where the 5 SCOTUS members that told AZ it could not also enforce US law to protect itself from unlimited flows of illegals that are bankrupting its hospitals, schools and cities.

The Catholic churches in our area have always been ultraliberal when it came to illegal aliens. Good old Cardinal Mahony was a leader in this. And the Episcopalians are pretty much into it too, but appear so far to be letting the Cathoalics carry the ball.

I don´t think this is all that much different (just smaller scale) of what´s happening with Afghanis, Iraqis and Syrian Christians fleeing their countries and finding refuge elsewhere in Jordan and elsewhere. I´m guessing the people "heading east" have relatives here.

If you are Catholic, you no doubt have heard of "corporal works of mercy."

To feed the hungry;
To give drink to the thirsty;
To clothe the naked;
To harbour the harbourless;
To visit the sick;
To ransom the captive;
To bury the dead.

There are also spiritual works of mercy you might find useful:

To instruct the ignorant;
To counsel the doubtful;
To admonish sinners;
To bear wrongs patiently;
To forgive offences willingly;
To comfort the afflicted;
To pray for the living and the dead.

Mitzi, with respect, those other nations you mention are actually in open war, and i suspect all/most of those folks are here legally. We can help these other folks get cleaned up and sent back home. Otherwise we´re aiding and abetting. I must disagree with your sense of "Charity".

It is easy to foresee the next Obama talking point, the churches didn´t do enough for the illegal immigrants and that is why there is so much suffering. Obama is like the Pharisees Our Lord spoke of saying: They tie up heavy burdens impossible to bear and will not use a finger to lift them. We can all run ourselves ragged cleaning up Obama messes and nothing will change. It is much easier to start a forrest fire than put it out. Obama goes around starting fires and defies others to put them all out or take the blame for the whole problem.

If you are Catholic you most likely heard that God sent Moses 10 laws...Commandments that He wanted obeyed...you also most likely heard the gospel that states that Jesus said.."Render unto Cesar what is Cesars, render unto God what is Gods" obey the laws....There are laws we have in this country to be obeyed..one of those laws said to not cross our borders illegally.
Now if you want to be Christian about this, by all means send those children, back to their parents..with bottled water, toys, food, clothing, even some money..BUT teach those kids, to not disobey the law...God Himself had respect for the law..

The original message, coming in response to a question of whether it was lawful for Jews to pay taxes to Caesar, gives rise to multiple possible interpretations about the circumstances under which it is desirable for the Christian to submit to earthly authority.

What about "rendering to Caesar" on the HHS mandates? Abortion? Same-sex marriage?

It should not be necessary to move everybody in the world inside the borders of the USA to give them a good life. Simply apply a set of governing policies as envisioned by our founders which made this nation exceptional. Wealth comes from policies which incentivize productivity and get people out of dependency on government. Obama despises these policies and when he succeeds in destroying the founding principles America will be just as impoverished as any of the places these children are coming from. When this happens there will be no place for anyone to go and have a better life. Wealth production is not a matter of luck or theft as the Obama demagoguery would have it. His "you didn´t build that" is pervasive attitude with him which is self serving given that he has no productive accomplishment in his life. You didn´t build that is the excuse to ignore one of those commandments "Thou shalt not steal" . Respect for this commandment is the root of prosperity and wealth for all and must precede any calls for charity! The commandment "Thou shalt not Steal" is a precondition for the demand of charity just as border security is a precondition for any solution to the present border chaos.

Obamacare customers won’t be able to file their tax returns next year until the government sends them a form detailing their coverage and tax credits, and if those forms are late some taxpayers could face a delay in seeking their refunds. Federal and state officials said they’re working on the forms, known as the 1095A, and vowed to meet the Jan. 31 deadline for issuing them. But some tax professionals are skeptical, citing the administration’s iffy track record on being able to meet other deadlines in the massive health overhaul law. “It really strains credulity to think 1095A is not going to be a big problem,” said George Brandes,
