I met Mirabel in 2011, four years after she had left her home in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, a city reputed to be the murder capital of the world. She, her sisters and mother were terrorized by an alcoholic father who abused them and stole the earnings from her mother’s struggling grocery store to spend on liquor and women. The tipping point came when Mirabel, then 16, confronted her father after a drunken rampage, and he nearly killed her with a machete. When an uncle offered to pay for a smuggler to take Mirabel to the United States, her mother

Word search performed on full article. It does not contain the words (or variations of) Marxist, leftist, socialist, communist, dictatorship, totalitarian, authoritarian or oppression. Its only use of ´corrupt´ refers to border guards, not to the politicians in these banana republics.

There are a literally billions of sob stories among the 7.2 billion people in the world. Life is unfair. It wasn´t meant to be otherwise. The problem starts when people who want to shovel excrement against the waves vote cynical, cunning, ´its-for-the-children´ politicians into power and give them a hand over our purse strings. Otherwise this naive stupidity is actually cathartic.

One of the biggest problems is that these messed-up people bring their dysfunctional social systems with them when they move. They don´t adapt or adopt our norms and customs. They simply demand that we subsidize theirs.

For proof, just look at the Somali Muslims in Minneapolis, who have turned election primaries into a free-for-all, complete with assaults and death threats.

Correction: I´m not sorry. I make no apology for placing the future of my prodigy above that of children of irresponsible, corrupt, aliens. I have a heart, but it is first and foremost for my own.

We stop supporting the countries these people escape from and things may turn around in those countries. Our support of Marxist thugs in Central America is bearing this fruit. There´s no rational reason why people should have to leave their fruitful countries to live someplace else in order to survive. It´s corruption and our government continues to support it.

End that support now.

One of the ways in which things “stay bad” in these countries is things are bad = USA gives money to them = money sticks to leaders pockets and they know if things “get better” no reason for USA to give money so things “stay bad”. Now instead of staying and fighting so things get better they relive pressure by sending kids to good ole USA.
In the article the problem seemed to be a bad father and no police protection -- that never happens here. /s

The Center for American Progress is calling for Congress to ditch the federal gas tax in lieu of a system where drivers pay fees for road construction based on how many miles they travel. The proposed mileage-based system has been controversial in previous transportation funding debates because critics question how government would monitor the traveling habits of drivers without infringing upon their privacy. But the Center for American Progress said Friday that taxing drivers based on how far they drive is a much more sustainable system than the current 18.4 cents per gallon federal gas tax. With people driving more

At a Senate hearing Wednesday, Health and Human Services Acting Assistant Secretary for the Administration for Children and Families Mark Greenberg admitted that, even if the Obama administration knew it was releasing Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) to other illegal aliens, they would do so based on the “totality of the circumstances” that apparently justifies such irresponsibility. However, when pressed by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Greenburg made it clear the Obama administration doesn’t even want to know to whom they are releasing the children, disclosing the reality that HHS does “not verify the immigration status of the individual.” Pressed further by Coburn,

Sen. Lamar Alexander´s (R-Tenn.) primary challenger, Tennessee state Rep. Joe Carr, picked up another national Tea Party endorsement Thursday, the same day he released a new statewide radio ad. The issue at the center of both the Tea Party Patriots’ endorsement and Carr’s new ad is Alexander’s alleged support for “amnesty” for illegal immigrants, a charge Carr has made central to his campaign against the senator. The Tea Party Patriots endorsement praised Carr as a "genuine leader" in the fight against illegal immigration, criticizing Alexander for being one of the 14 Republicans to vote for the reform bill that passed the Senate

WASHINGTON – Sen. As President Barack Obama met with Texas Gov. Conservative donors fueling the civil war within the Republican Party are showing no signs of surrender, despite recent losses in primaries and mounting criticism that the groups to which they are giving might damage the GOP’s prospects at winning control of the Senate. The top conservative groups — Club for Growth and Senate Conservatives Fund — have spent more than $10 million on ads and direct contributions to endorsed candidates in 2014 so far, but they’ve won only in races where establishment groups were largely on the sidelines or supported the same candidate. From his column in The Washington Times: At the unofficial reported cost of $250 per person per day, President Barack Obama is proposing we spend $1.8 billion “to provide appropriate care for unaccompanied children.” That works out to 19,726 minors for a year. The facts are simple. The IRS systematically targeted conservative and Tea Party groups after their activism proved decisive in the 2010 midterm elections—Obama’s famous “shellacking.” The effects of this targeting were widespread. Some Tea Party groups were neutered in the months before the 2012 presidential election. Few of the explanations or justifications of this targeting provided by IRS leaders and Obama administration officials have held up. IRS officials at first denied that any targeting had taken place. That was false. They later claimed that the targeting had involved only low-level employees in the Cincinnati office. That was false. They argued

The next time you hear politicians denounce Barack Obama as a lawless, imperial president with a scandal-riddled administration, ask them what they’re going to do about it. Their gnashing of teeth over Obama’s self-granted omnipotence is repetitive. Let’s agree with our ninth president, William Henry Harrison, who said there is nothing more corrupting, nothing more destructive than the exercise of unlimited power. We understand the problem. The only way for politicians to fix it is with a little less talk and a lot more action. The Constitution provides the remedy for a president who commits “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
