The Crisis on the Border
Wall Street Journal, by Peggy Noonan

Original Article

What is happening at the southern border is a true and actual crisis. News accounts justly use words like chaos, collapse and breakdown. They feature images of children—toddlers, 4- and 5-year-olds—being shuffled to warehouse holding centers, sleeping crowded at night on what look like pallets, covered only in Mylar blankets. "I never thought we´d have refugee camps in America," said Texas Sen. John Cornyn, "but that´s what it´s appearing." All this gives normal people a feeling of besiegement and foreboding. Is a nation without borders a nation? Washington´s leaders seem to recognize what´s happening as a political problem, not a real

Peggy Noonan was on my blacklist for years, but she´s rehabilitated herself. This should be a must read.

Sorry, till Obama is a faded memory, repudiated by both history and all who voted for him - till Peggy in print apologizes for her 08 endorsement - I´ll not read her drivel nor think she´s been rehabbed.

She said the important thing which when acknowledged, will tip the scale of this thing towards deportation. This is a ginned up "hostage crisis" to get the Senate Bill Gang of Eight Bill passed. It´s the first place the President went. It was the ransom demand.

Somebody needs to call his hand on it so that it becomes a talking point. The American people will be furious. It will then be found out that this was all instigated from here.

Sending all of these waifs back is not cruel, it is necessary. Approximately 5.4 BILLION around the world live in poverty worse than what these kids are supposedly fleeing. Their problems need to be solved in their home countries. We can´t solve them here. In reality they are not fleeing but are being used as "Human Shields".

Because of this reality when someone writes and speaks about the "plight of the innocents" I write or say, "So what!".

Peggy Noonan angered me plenty many times over the past 7 or 8 years, but I never stopped scanning her essays to see what was in there.

This one is a masterpiece. She captures the mood of the people of America perfectly and poetically and slams Obama right in the nuts in the process.

A must read.

Peggy needs to publiclally admit she was dead wrong about Obama. I am quite sure she has heard about David Brooks´ comments the other day. Until Peggy comes clean and looks at herself and her idiotic support of Obama, her words mean nada.

She, and her stupid ilk, endorsed this empty suit. Remember when, over and over, we were shown the picture of a twelve-year old Trayvon Martin, when at the time of the incident, Trayvon was actually 17 years old?

Talk about optics, in the few pictures that have been slipped out to the public on this invasion, I´ve seen a roomful of young adult men sprawled on the floor waiting for someone to do something for them. Meanwhile, you can only guess about the health conditions that are present in that place.

Then I saw another picture of older adult men crowded together in another space and acting like anyone would find their rude gestures amusing. We don´t.

And then we have the images of the wan children that Ms. Noonan wants us to empathize with. Those are the optics that Peggy wants to linger in our brains, ignoring all the nasty optics we´ve already seen and cause us great concern, i.e., public health and criminal activity.

We need to distinguish between children and teenagers. That picture on Drudge of the ´Death Train´ carrying ´children´ heading for the US was covered with mostly male teenagers, quite a few of them likely in their twenties. I can see treating children with charity but those teens should be sent packing back to where they came from. They´re old enough to be gang bangers and terrorists. There is no point in trying to sort them out. Send them all back.

Nice article and it tempts me to temper my remarks, a little.

PN certainly took all the hopey/changey bait, along with other weak-minded crypto-Rinos and perhaps never read about O´s hospital/health law leadership support for killing babies in Illinois when a state senator. Now, THAT was a cause he could believe and work very hard for. As a card-carrying RC, PN ought to have seen the truth early from that. But, anyway...

PN works for the WSJ, who are in cahoots with the currently bent Chamber of Commerce leadership in having great faith in comprehensive amnesty and open borders. While she frets about dem party/leadership moralities, she cannot face the obvious structural disaster that awaits us on this issue. The party of death still promises all to all.

How can Peggy-Sue help but fail to see this deathly serious threat to our ability to control our country and thereby our President? This issue will swamp the boat. with Mr. Speaker´s help. As BO comprehends the ugly truth about his reign and "our" opinions, he will become more vindictive and perhaps angry enough to prove himself a pyrric victor all the way.

Perhaps, BOBO will conclude that WE did not appreciate him sufficiently and doubt our worth to live in his new world. Most of history´s self-aggrandizing megalomaniacs concluded similarly at their end.

PN and the WSJ have a great deal to walk back such a long way with little time to spare.

The Department of Justice’s board of immigration appeals has decided to let Guatemalan women win asylum in the United States if they claim to be victims of domestic violence. The decision creates a huge new incentive for Guatemalan women to cross the U.S. border, because if their asylum claim is accepted, their children get U.S. citizenship, plus the use of federal health, education and retirement programs, regardless of their initial education and work skills. The new decision also means that many of the Guatemalan women who have already crossed the border this year have a new claim for asylum. “Under this breaking decision

The worst thing about air travel is that you cannot even complain about it without sounding like a hack comic from the 1980s. Anything is bearable so long as you can complain about it. To the surprise of no one not on controlled substances, Rick Scott and Charlie Crist overcame weak primary opponents in a low turn-out election Tuesday to become the Republican and Democratic nominees for Florida governor. So it’s officially Mr. Sunshine against Mr. Clean (anyone who has seen Crist campaign and seen a picture of Scott will not question these sobriquets). Chris McDaniel´s first hurdle in his lawsuit to overturn his loss to Thad Cochran is a doozy: He may have waited too late to file it. As he worked for weeks building a case and campaigning that the election was stolen from him, McDaniel´s team said a 20-day deadline applies only to challenges of county and local elections, not a statewide U.S. Senate primary. Others, including the secretary of state, agreed with him. "Justice has no timetable," McDaniel said numerous times when questioned why it was taking so long to file his challenge of the June 24 GOP runoff for U.S. Senate. But
