Hillary’s Outside Enforcers

She’s ostensibly not in campaign mode, but a staff of 20 at the outside group Correct the Record is busily working to defend the former secretary of state against right-wing attacks. On a recent sweltering Wednesday in Washington, D.C., when most of the town had cleared out for the upcoming Fourth of July weekend, Adrienne Elrod was at a desk piled high with books—among them both of Hillary Clinton’s memoirs and the 2008 campaign pot-boiler Game Change—emailing with a reporter from BuzzFeed about a small item running later that evening. Elrod is the communications director for Correct the Record, a 6-month-old outfit

Wow that was a long article. The Clinton´s are who they are Grifters and Liars. To have 20 people employed to try to rewrite history is amazing. How about asking the Clinton´s to start telling the Truth or better yet to Just Go Away. America deserves better than these two.

The Clinton campaign has started, but she has not announced or complied with FEC requirements. I am sure that these people have many "friendly" reporters willing to do their bidding without reporting "in-kind" contributions.

Mr. Freedlander: Let me make a correction to your statement.

Correct the Record is busily working to defend the former secretary of state against right-wing attacks against the left-wing anti-american marxist traitors.

There, truth in advertising Mr. Freedlander.

American outrage over the gruesome murder of journalist James Foley has prompted the appearance of a reversal of President Obama´s "leading from behind" foreign policy strategy, especially in the Middle East. For months before, as ISIS rolled out of Syria and across Iraq, leaving a trail of horror in its wake all the way near Baghdad, Obama seemed content to leave the Iraqis to their fate. He made new U.S. assistance, for example, contingent on Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki´s agreement to step aside in favor of a more inclusive government with support from Shias, Sunnis, Christians and Kurds. CNN has obtained and published an audio recording of a Ferguson, Missouri man engaged in what sounds like a sex chat with a woman. In the midst of it, you can hear gun shots in the background. These are presumed to be, although CNN says repeatedly that it has not verified the recording, the sounds of Officer Darren Wilson shooting Michael Brown. Erik Wemple relates the story behind the recording. Various observers, including CNN’s talking heads, have tried to attach great significance to the audio recording. CNN, promoting the recording as if it were a Blowup-type moment, recruited an audio expert

I never liked it when George W. Bush used the term “evildoers” to describe al-Qaeda and other terrorists. A lot of other people objected as well, but for different reasons. I didn’t like the term because it always sounded to me like he was saying “evil Dewar’s,” as in the blended Scotch. (This always made some of Bush’s statements chuckle-worthy — “We will not rest until we find the evil Dewar’s!”) I prefer single malts, but “evil” always seemed unduly harsh. The more common objection to “evildoers” was that it was, variously, simplistic, Manichean, imperialistic, cartoonish, etc. “Perhaps without even realizing it,”

Millionaire and public intellectual Paul Krugman takes homes a $225,000 salary (to do no actual work) from the publicly funded City University of New York. And that’s only a fraction of his total earnings, which include a six-figure salary from the New York Times, where he writes columns that regurgitate Democratic Party talking points in an authoritative voice. Krugman’s latest is an attack on Gov. Rick Perry (R., Texas), who just took an exceedingly handsome mug shot and may run for president in 2016. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. is enjoying a tidal wave of laudatory press coverage for his activism on the Ferguson, Mo., shooting and subsequent protests. In the 1990s, though, Mr. Holder ignored plenty of cases of District of Columbia black cops killing unarmed black civilians — even when policemen lied about the shootings. Mr. Holder was appointed in 1993 by President Clinton as U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. At that time, D.C. police were killing more civilians than any other large city police force, based on population. The number of killings by D.C. police quadrupled between 1989 and

WASHINGTON — Panicked Democrats locked in tight midterm races as the party tries desperately to hold onto control of the Senate fear President Obama’s anticipated executive amnesty for about 5 million illegal immigrants may doom their re-election campaigns. New Hampshire U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who has seen her double-digit lead in the polls evaporate into a virtual dead heat with former Bay State U.S. Sen. Shaheen “would not support a piecemeal approach issued by executive order,” said her spokesman Shripal Shah, adding the Granite State incumbent “believes Congress must

After nearly four years of procedural delay, the trial of former CIA officer Jeffrey Sterling is set to open shortly. Sterling was indicted at the end of 2010 for leaking information about a top-secret CIA operation to James Risen of the New York Times in violation of the espionage statutes. It is difficult to regard Sterling as in any sense a whistleblower, though, predictably, he calls himself such. He appears to have given Risen CIA secrets as a way to settle scores with the agency in a dispute over the presence of classified information in memoirs he sought to publish

Tom Frank, an anti-Obama leftist, interviews Cornel West, another anti-Obama leftist, in a conversation so deeply marinated in shared assumptions that, at one point, both interviewer and interviewee agree that nobody disagrees with them. Frank asks West, “Is there anybody who thinks he’s progressive enough today? West replies, “Nobody I know. Democrat Michelle Nunn is running ahead of David Perdue in the race for the U.S. Senate in Georgia. The WSB-TV poll found that Mrs. Nunn has 47 percent to 40 percent edge over Mr. Perdue. The libertarian candidate, Amanda Swafford, received 3 percent, and 10 percent of the respondents were undecided. The winner of the race will replace retiring Sen. Saxby Chambliss. Mrs. Nunn, the daughter of former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn, is seen as one of Democrats best bets to flip control of a GOP-held seat. Republicans need to flip six seats to win back the Senate.

American black people are being lied to and the lies destroy them. They are being lied to by corrupt people like Attorney General Eric Holder and Al Sharpton Jr. and Jesse Jackson and the leftists in our news media. They are being told that their poverty is due to prejudice and that the police are targeting them out of bigotry. They are being told that the dreadful existence of slum life grew out of slavery and is being perpetuated by hatred. None of this is true. Poor black people are poor because they have no family structure and get little education.

Amid the hysteria over the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., it might be lost that most black and white Americans believe they’re not out to get each other. A new Pew Research survey shows that 75 percent of whites and 64 percent of blacks say their groups get along together “pretty well” if not “very well.” It’s a bleaker view for Hispanics, 53 percent of whom say the same. Ferguson fell into the national media spotlight on Aug. 9 when Brown, who was unarmed and black,” was shot dead by Darren Wilson, a white police officer. A St. Louis grand jury is currently deliberating whether to charge Wilson of a crime.
