Obama: US willing to
negotiate Israel cease-fire

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Washington - President Barack Obama is telling Israel´s leader that the United States is willing to negotiate a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. Obama spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, as Israel was intensifying an bombardment of the Gaza Strip in an attempt to thwart rocket fire targeting Israel. The White House says Obama condemned the rockets and said Israel has the right to self-defense. But Obama also urged both sides not to escalate the crisis and to restore calm. Obama also relayed concerns about a Palestinian-American teenager who was detained and apparently beaten by Israeli authorities.

Once again, when it comes to the terrorist actions of Hamas that started this rightful Israeli response, 0bama chooses to talk with Israel to stop. This is one time he should send Kerry (who served in Vietnam) to Gaza City for a photo-op from the other side (or human shield) and tell Hamas to quit before the "Dogs of War" are unleashed again on them. (Notice: that 0bama is siding with Hamas).

Netanyahu won´t take his calls. Just like Putin. Obama has established himself as absolutely worthless.

It´s time for Hamas´ unconditional surrender.

Any talks about a cease fire should take place on or after 11 August, after the Israelis have had a good solid month to blast the Palestinians back to their beloved stone age!!!

The Israelis have nothing to gain by stopping now. If they stop, they will just have to keep dealing with this over and over again.

The Israelis need to just exterminate the Islamic terrorist once and for all.

Like I have said many times, short of committing mass suicide, the Israelis will never make the muslims happy. The muslims will continue to try to eradicate the Israelis, as they constantly claim is their goal. Enough is enough!!!

The last think Israel needs is "help" from this administration. I hope they understand that and I´m confident they do. The rest of the world only tries to stop the fighting when they see Israel winning. I don´t know why but that´s always been the case.

Mexican drug cartels, whose trafficking efforts into the U.S. have grown bolder amid the border crisis, are increasingly utilizing a frightening weapon in their arsenal: the hand grenade. Whether packed with explosives, hollowed out and filled with steel to give them authentic heft or even used to deliver handwritten death threats, grenades are turning up in greater frequency in encounters with suspected cartel members, according to law enforcement authorities and border experts. (Snip) “The reason you’re seeing so many more [grenades] this year is because much more heavily-armed drug shipments are coming into the United States,”

Call them the seven wonders of interstellar space: Tiny specks of dust captured by a NASA spacecraft may be the first material from outside the solar system ever caught and brought to Earth. Researchers studying the contents of a capsule returned to Earth in 2006 at the conclusion of the Stardust spacecraft´s primary mission believe that they have found seven remarkable specks on its collection panels. Although they weigh about 10 trillionths of a gram in all, the microscopic motes of "alien" dust described in the journal Science could alter astronomers´ perception of the galaxy beyond our own stellar neighborhood.

The magnitude of the Ebola crisis in West Africa is "vastly" underestimated, the World Health Organization said this week, as the death toll rose to more than 1,000. Ebola has infected at least 1,975 people in Nigeria, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone since the outbreak began this year. Of those, at least 1,069 have died, according to the WHO. It said the number reflects the count as of Monday. "The outbreak is expected to continue for some time," the WHO said in a statement Thursday. "Staff at the outbreak sites see evidence that the numbers of reported cases and deaths vastly underestimate the magnitude of the outbreak."

As many have noted, Ferguson, Missouri, currently looks like a war zone. And its police—kitted out with Marine-issue camouflage and military-grade body armor, toting short-barreled assault rifles, and rolling around in armored vehicles—are indistinguishable from soldiers. America has been quietly arming its police for battle since the early 1990s. Faced with a bloated military and what it perceived as a worsening drug crisis, the 101st Congress in 1990 enacted the National Defense Authorization Act. Section 1208 of the NDAA allowed the Secretary of Defense to “transfer to Federal and State agencies personal property of the

David Cameron is prepared to supply weapons directly to Kurdish forces fighting jihadists from the Islamic State (Isis) in northern Iraq, in a move that risks drawing Britain back indirectly into the country´s conflict. In a significant intensification of British involvement in the Iraq crisis, the foreign secretary, Philip Hammond, will tell his EU counterparts in Brussels on Friday that Britain is prepared to join France in arming the Kurds. David Cameron and Nick Clegg agreed the plan at an emergency Cobra meeting. The move was immediately welcomed by the chancellor of the Kurdish Region Security Council, who had pleaded with

As the carnage in Gaza reached a crescendo in the beginning of August, Jon Voight, one of Hollywood´s most vocal conservatives, penned a harsh attack on fellow actors Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz in response to a letter they signed condemning the latest Israeli bombing of Gaza in which he accused them of "inciting anti-Semitism all over the world". Many activists dismiss Voight´s letter as the rantings of an unthinking actor who long ago lost touch with political reality - a poor relation of conservative icon Charlton Heston. By suing in federal district court, the Redskins are asking for a chance to defend their name, which they contend celebrates Native Americans. The team can now introduce fresh evidence

For example, as Mooney noted in a Tuesday post, a GOP president, Richard Nixon, established the EPA. Mooney reports, however, that in the early 1990s the party as a whole grew distinctly more hostile towards environmentalism. He touches on several possible explanations, including a backlash against the newly elected vice president, Earth in the Balance author Al Gore, as well as a theory that after the Soviet Union collapsed, environmentalists succeeded Communists as major objects
