Stunned by Israel´s fierce response,
Hamas sends distress signals

Jerusalem Post, by Khaled Abu Toameh

Despite fiery statements issued by Hamas spokesmen over the past 48 hours, it was obvious Tuesday night that the Islamist movement was searching for ways to rid itself of the current escalation. Hamas feels that it has been forced into a confrontation with Israel – one that it did not want at this stage because of its increased isolation and financial crisis. The massive Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours have surprised Hamas and other Palestinian groups. Hamas apparently expected a limited response to the recent rocket attacks on Israeli cities and towns. But as the

When you fire rockets at Israel´s largest cities, including Tel Aviv, among other continuing atrocities and aggression, just what do you expect you are going to get in return; fresh bagels on your doorstep?

I love it. The Israelis did not go for supplies or barracks or ammo dumps. They bombed the homes of the hamas military leaders! Remember all those Israeli drones we kept hearing about flying over Gaza? They were doing a valuable service finding just where all those Bozo muslim monsters live.

Am I really reading this?:

The organization [Hamas] is concerned that if the IDF operation continues for another few days, the movement will pay a very heavy price – one that could even bring about an end to Hamas’s rule over the Gaza Strip.

Bringing about "an end to Hamas´ rule over the Gaza Strip" is just the beginning. Isn´t it obvious that Israel has had enough and is getting serious about wiping out Hamas, an organization which publicly claims as its goal the destruction of Israel?

Did Hamas expect a few softballs from Israel, then they´d go back to blowing up children and women in marketplaces and malls in Israel.

OPEN LETTER TO BIBI: About time. Israel has been more than patient for longer than necessary. Clear out the Gaza viper´s nest, then go after them wherever else their slime trail leads.

I find it comical that they start screaming peace once they start getting their butt kicked. You can only poke the badger so many times before he turns around and shows you what he is capable of. Hamas wants nothing less than the total extinction of Jews in Israel, that the response is as measured as it is just shows that the Israelis really just want to be able to live in peace. I hope that Israel continues to pound them and show them that they are not going to take it anymore.

As you know, there are generally 3 strains of Judaism in the US: Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox.

What I´ve observed is that Reform Jews and non-practicing ethnic Jews tend are lukewarm at best about Israel and often pro-Palestinian.

Overall it seems that Conservative and Orthodox Jews are supportive of Israel, but there are a few Orthodox Jews who are anti-Zionist and do not believe in having the state of Israel.

It looks like about an even split for and against Israel among all American Jews.

This is pathetically funny. The Hamas "bully boys" decide to launch a rocket assault on Israel and expect NO response? Then they whine that their commander´s houses are being targeted. Gee guys, that´s war strategy 101, kill the leaders.

Thugs and blustering bullies. That´s all the Islamists are. Confront them and they run away and whine about the unfairness of the world. The only things that saves Hamas and the Palestinians in general is Israel´s own experience with attempts at extermination. Israel could easily purge these areas and start anew but they will not.

Hamas is hilarious. The schoolyard bully punches the small kid and then finds out that he is a 3rd degree black belt. Israel has accomplished in four days what Lurch and the kenyan fraud have tried to do for months. The resulting peace agreement from this little war will be what Israel wants, not what Washington wants.

Pound the filthy animals until they scream. Lobbing rockets at cities and a nuclear reactor demands heavy payback.

Wish we could talk Bibi into accepting the next presidency of the U.S., now that being foreign born doesn´t disqualify anymore. I would truly not mind a massive immigration of jewish people from Israel into our country. It would increase the national IQ of America about 75%.

The Israeli response is appropriate considering Hamas and the PLO are nothing more than terrorists. Hope Israel gives Hamas/PLO a major beatdown and ignores all their critics.

Hamas/PLO, the media, and all their lefty cronies will be leaning on the Obama gang to stop Israel. Look for the Obama gang to be critical of Israel and watch them be ignored. Obama has effectively destroyed American influence on the world stage.

Funny if it turns out that Hamas is weaker than everyone thought. Hezbollah and Iran will find that interesting. So will ISIS and AQ. Hamas will find themselves muscled out by the other Islamic gangs.

Awaking to an article such as this tends to put the entire day in perspective. Israel has been given the ability to tell its enemies to go pound sand. And they learned well. Now the hamas bullies cry uncle uncle uncle Israel, US pResident may not be your friend, but US Americans are. Wishing you much luck and much bravery. When your mission is accomplished there, we might ask you to come and assist your American friends in removing our black muslim from office. God be with you.

What they haven´t figured out is that Obama has NO credibility and the international community is slowly waking to the danger that radical Islam is. They realize if Israel gets destroyed, their heads will be next on the chopping block, literally.

The Israelis will do it right, take out every stronghold of Hamas leadership, every rocket base, and every piece of technical equipment, any means of making war again.

No one will come to their aid. No Arab nation wants to engage the Israelis.

Iran is no match for the Israelis, they just hope for US support to wipe the Jewish nation off the face of the earth.

But they know O´Stinky is a non-starter and has no influence with the Israelis. He is just another piece of trash on the garbage pile of history.

It reminds me of a kid I knew in 9th grade, named Wiley.

Wiley made my life miserable in 9th grade. Every time I saw him, he would call me "skinny" or "skeleton". Non stop, he never tired. He´d get other kids to do it. I was a thin kid so I said a few things back to him but didn´t do much good.

When my sophomore year started, I had a resolve that my new year would not be as bad as the previous year. Wiley saw me that first day, mouthed off...and I said nothing, I hit him square in the cheek hard. The expression on his face was not of anger, or even fear, but of shock....like, how COULD I have hit him, why???!! His hand went up to his face, he just stared before running to the office for help, running like a girl with one hand at his side and the other covering his reddening face.

Did he really think he could just keep causing me pain, nonstop, forever and there would be no retaliation? That I would just roll over and take it?

Kind of like Hamas, eh?

It is obvious that Israel had spent a great deal of time and effort planning their response. All it took was an event to trigger their response.

We should admire their expert planning and execution - something that is greatly lacking in our own administration. There were no contingency plans when Benghazi occurred - not even plans for a timely response. The difference between Israel and America is night and day.

Oh, the IAF went after ammunition caches too. That´s why you often see some really dramatic secondary explosions. Its also why they seem to be bombing empty fields and other places. Hamas got smart after the last operation we didn´t finish properly and dug in (they also have made the rocket manufacturing domestic so unfortunately not only do they have many but they aren´t simply going to run out). Unfortunately they don´t feel able to stop and enter into a (temporary, always temporary) cease-fire until they have managed a "quality resistance operation", i.e. they have to be able to say they killed a lot of Israels and that isn´t a condition anyone is going to volunteer for--even our fifth column who rushed to the Temple Mount to cheer when the rockets reached Jerusalem.

Progressive Leader Outlines Plan to ‘Take

Daily Signal, by Bruce Parker    Original Article

The recent Netroots Nation gathering, billed as a “giant family reunion for the left,” included a directive from one leader of a progressive state policy network to “take down” conservative state policy organizations nationwide. Arshad Hasan, who moderated a breakout session called “Stink Tanks in Your State: Inside the State Policy Network,” called on attendees to attack state policy groups from Michigan’s Mackinac Center to Vermont’s Ethan Allen Institute. “The next step for us is to take down this network of institutions that are state-based in each and every one of our states,” Hasan said. If you like cease-fires, then this is a great time to be alive. Those Israelis who weren’t shot in the head by Hamas terrorists (whom Andrew Sullivan insists weren’t real Hamas terrorist, trading in his obsession with Sarah Palin’s rogue pregnancy for a new conspiracy theory) or killed by a Hamas rocket, encounter almost as many cease-fires in a given day as terrorist attacks. A cease-fire comes along every few minutes and it can last anywhere from a minute to an hour to a few hours until Hamas once again begins firing rockets or swarming through tunnels to attack Israelis.

Meet Mosab Hassan Yousef. He’s the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, one of the founders of Hamas. He’s now an evangelical Christian, living in the U.S. after being granted political asylum, and a former operative with Shin Bet, a branch of Israeli intelligence, which led to his father disowning him back in 2010: (Snip) Lemon asked if peaceful co-existence was possible with someone who wishes to see you destroyed. The Obama administration is fuming about the anger in Israel about Secretary of State John Kerry’s bumbling efforts to negotiate a cease-fire in Gaza. But while senior U.S. officials are claiming the attacks on Kerry from Israelis across the political spectrum puts the relationship between the two countries in jeopardy, the change in tune today from Kerry in his statements about the goals of negotiations illustrated just how deep is the hole that he has dug for himself and the United States in the current crisis.

The media war between Israel and Hamas is a disproportionately unequal one. It’s unequal because Israel must maintain its credibility, while Hamas and its media allies never worry about their credibility. In an instant messaging news cycle, Israel responds to accusations of atrocities with an investigation while Hamas and its Hamasbara allies in the media package together bloody photos from local stringers along with a narrative and turn it into an instant story. By the time the Israeli investigation nails down the real story, as with the UNRWA school in Beit Hanoun, the Hamasbara is already moving on to the

One of the oddest tropes of the past week has been too-clever-by-half theorizing that Israel is losing its war against Hamas even if, from all accounts, it is winning the war against Hamas—by knocking out Hamas’s missiles from the air, destroying its tunnels on land, killing its terrorists, and going after its weapons depots. The only way it can be deemed to be losing is if you think the war is primarily a public-relations battle for the hearts and minds of people who already have a fixed opinion of who the good guys and bad guys are in this struggle.

“Pare down the parasitic fringe” of government. “Favor a gospel of work” instead of aristocratic entitlement. “Rationalize finance” and “reverse the Parkinson’s law of bureaucracy.” All that sounds like rhetoric from the Tea Party or reform conservatives who assail what they call crony capitalism. But it´s not a contemporary criticism. Those are phrases from a long essay, written more than half a century ago, by the British historian H. R. Trevor-Roper, entitled “The General Crisis of the Seventeenth Century.” In his plummy prose, Trevor-Roper sought to explain why revolutions or revolts of varying sorts broke out in the British Isles, France, Spain, Italy

It’s been infuriating to watch Hollywood elites ignorantly blast out their support for Gaza across social media platforms since the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians escalated this month. Thus, it’s refreshing to see one particularly outspoken celeb passionately stand up for Israel’s right to self-defense. “If New Jersey were firing rockets into New York, we would wipe ’em out,” she tells the cameraman. Rivers continues, “I don’t want to hear anymore, ‘Oh, we’ll do a partial truce.’ The Palestinians… you cannot throw rockets, and not expect people to defend themselves.” Asked about civilian casualties among Palestinians, Rivers fires back, “Then

The IDF has not yet located and destroyed all of Hamas´ terror tunnels, but the consensus about the intent behind them is quite clear. This is Jonathan Dahoah HeLevi of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs. Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas prime minister, delivered a revealing speech on March 23, 2014, in which he stressed the strategic importance of the Hamas attack tunnels, which, he argued, have changed the balance of power with Israel, when taken together with his organization’s military build-up. In the meantime, the IDF’s war against the tunnels continues. On Monday IDF forces thwarted another terror attack after two groups of Hamas

In the largely Orthodox Jewish neighborhood of Chicago’s Petersen Park, residents last Saturday morning found anti-Semitic leaflets on their way to synagogue to observe the Sabbath. The leaflets threatened violence against the community unless Israel stopped the war with Gaza. For those progressive Jews who have found solace in the myth that anti-Zionism has nothing to do with anti-Semitism, the events across the globe of the last few weeks have been a rude and discomforting awakening. And so they turned to their final recourse, the belief that America was different. Sure, there was a pogrom at a synagogue in Paris, but, well,

The White House pretended to champion American workers this week with gimmicky initiatives on federal job training and "workplace innovation." But far from the Beltway dog-and-pony show, a group of American workers ruthlessly shafted by the Obama administration was finally getting some real support -- and inching toward justice. It was five years ago this summer that 20,000 white-collar nonunion workers from Delphi (a leading auto parts company spun off from GM in 1999) had their pensions sabotaged as part of a rotten White House deal with Big Labor. Two court rulings this summer have given the victims hope. Their plight

He simply said he was sorry. I think a good many Americans feel much the same as my good friend. They know that they were seduced by the very slick presentation that Barack Obama made in the

Like many on the right, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer is politically opposed to impeaching President Barack Obama. But on Tuesday, he declared that legally, the rumored White House order granting amnesty to as many as 6 million illegal immigrants “would be an impeachable offense” — and Obama’s talk of impeachment may be a way to preempt that pushback. Krauthammer spoke with Fox News’s Bret Baier on a panel with The Hill’s A.B. Stoddard and Fox News contributor Juan Williams. The group discussed the impeachment buzz swirling around Washington, which most observers agree is being ginned up by Democrats eager for

Israel unleashed its heaviest bombardment in its three-week-old campaign against Hamas in Gaza on Tuesday as the Obama administration battled the growing perception among Israelis that Secretary of State John F. Kerry is a hapless bumbler in search of a cosmetic truce. Diplomatic efforts remained stalled despite a death toll that Palestinian officials said rose above 1,200 on Tuesday. The shadowy leader of the Hamas military wing said his group will not cease fire until an economic embargo is ended and other demands are met. President Obama demanded that Israel agree to a one-sided cease-fire during a heated phone conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a report aired on Israeli TV Tuesday. Both leaders quickly denounced the purported transcript of their private discussion as fake. But the TV channel that obtained it, state-run Channel 1, stood by its account. In one bitter exchange, Obama declared that Qatar and Turkey — Hamas’ biggest international supporters — would mediate with the terrorists on Israel’s behalf, according to the TV channel. “I trust Qatar and Turkey. Israel is not in the position that it can choose its mediators,” the president

First lady Michelle Obama embraced her family’s African roots in a speech today, telling a young audience that the ´blood of Africa´ runs through her veins as she urged changing traditional beliefs on the worth of educating women. Conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status had their applications denied by IRS bureaucrats who called them names like “crazies,” “rabid” and other words that can’t be printed in a family newspaper. The tax agency is supposed to be run by nonpartisan, career professionals, but the latest set of emails released by the House Ways and Means Committee suggest the agency is anything but. Until the scandal erupted last year, Lois G. Lerner was in charge of the IRS division overseeing tax-exempt organizations. Congressional investigators have spent months sifting through her emails — the ones that didn’t “go missing” — to find out

Do not eat or drink in front of Muslims, and learn more about their religion. That’s the directive that has gone out to active duty military personnel at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, a Department of Defense medical and graduate school in Bethesda, Md. Perhaps it says something about us that our most interesting presidential candidates swear they won´t run for president. This is true of Sen. I´ve also expressed skepticism about the notion he would run again. But let´s not let "a foolish consistency" cloud our judgment. There is reason to believe that a third try wouldn´t be an absurd venture. First, in the intervening years since 2012 — and on a range of issues, not the least of which is

The “Could Ebola sneak across” link Rivera specifically referred to in his tweet directs Drudge readers to an article at the right-wing World Net Daily.
