Mexican judge orders Marine sergeant
to remain in custody on gun charges

A Mexican federal judge ordered Andrew Tahmooressi back to prison after the U.S. Marine sergeant made his first official courtroom appearance since being locked up March 31 for accidentally crossing the border with guns in his pickup truck. The 26-year-old veteran of two tours in Afghanistan was finally able to tell his story to a judge, after his case had been delayed by both Mexico´s unpredictable legal system and his own trouble settling on a lawyer. It was not immediately clear what Tahmooressi said at the evidentiary hearing, which was closed to the public. The next hearing in the case is

Have the mexican cartels told kerry how much money they want for Tahmooressi´s release? Any president worth his salt would have secured to Marines release by now.

But Greta ASSURED us that the case was SOOOO obvious that after a hearing a Mexican judge would do the right thing. She is so naive.

The article quotes the judge as saying:

"This is a federal court and as in any democratic nation you will not find an executive calling up a judge and ordering the release of a suspect," Benitez told FoxNews.com after his hiring. "It makes no difference if it is a mayor, governor, or the president, there´s not a phone call in the world that will change this."

Yeah, sure, Mexico is such a sterling example of judiciary integrity. I think perhaps a phone call from a guy (who also has a pen) is the very reason our Marine, Andrew, is still locked up.

While mexicans are sending hundreds of thousands of illegals through OUR borders to OUR cities, WE are being required to give $3.7 BILLION dollars to take "care" of them, the mexican "judicial" system refuses to free OUR Marine after FOUR months?? While WE are sending money and business to mexico, the useless-in-chief is out playing POOL and drinking BEER, while being offered a "HIT" because he is too BUSY to bother with Sargent Tahmooressi OR the "immigration" "situation"?? WHEN will our "representatives" begin to stand up to this anti-American-leftist-"administration" and stop his reign of terror being perpetrated on OUR citizens? I only hope it won´t be too late. Stand up, Congress! Stand up!

We are drowning in debt and the President wants to borrow almost Three Billion more to take care of all those people streaming across our southern border, and the Mexican government cannot release this young Marine?

I heard someone talking yesterday about the fall of Rome and and invasions that caused it. Were the "high-techies" of those days and other so-called "one percenters" of the period spared the same fate that happened to the commoner? (not a student of history - don´t know, but I suspect they weren´t)

Finally there may be something that Barry can do with his "executive order" pen.

1. Attach a special tax to all vacations to Mexico until the release our marine.

2. Sequester all money transfers from the USA to Mexico until the release our marine.

3. Charge an entry fee to all legitimate Mexican nationals coming into the USA.

4. Bill Mexico for all taxpayer funded costs related to illegal immigration.

5. Use NSA data to locate all drug cartel bosses and send in the drones, light them up. If the Mexicans give up the marine, continue anyway. If the Mexicans don´t give up the marine, continue anyway.

6. Next time the Mexican army crosses our border capture or shoot them.

9: If he isn´t given up after 1 week, escalate and drone the higher-ups in Mexico.

From what we´ve been told, it should be a slam dunk for Tahmooressi to be released instantaneously. Politicians on both sides should be swarming to the sound byte mics. Obama, Kerry...plus anyone with a sense of justice should be expressing outrage.
Because this hasn´t happened, I do wonder if there´s some significant part of the story that we don´t know. Something isn´t right.

Well-done 12,13,14 and 15. The strong ideas you outline are such common sense! Not one politician of either party will ever go there. The press has proven they are full of it as they echo platitudes thanking our military for their service. If they meant it, they would go full boar for this Marine. He would be home by now. Mexico walks all over us. Our politicians, all of them, speak as if they are bought and paid for by them. I know, of course, all are not but this is the impression they give at every turn. Note BOR´s idea to boycott all things Mexico was shunned in my state as Dracula freaks out over garlic.

I think we ought to repatriate all illegals caught entering the country from Mexico to either Cancun or Acapulco depending on whether on where they cross the border. My guess is the Mexican government would be begging for mercy before the first ships landed.

I have visited or lived in more than a dozen countries in Latin America. I always found something positive in each one. I have never been to Mexico although I have known many Mexicans (diplomats and businessmen) in other Latin American countries. I have found most Mexicans to be arrogant and self centered with a huge inferiority complex when it comes to the United States. I think Mexico is a deeply corrupt country and I have no intention of ever visiting it. I think any American who goes to Mexico in any circumstances is playing with fire. It might be OK in American bastions like Cancun but you step outside that resort at your extreme peril.

MIAMI -- Hillary Clinton covered all her bases in Miami on Thursday: She padded her wallet with a paid speech, pitched her memoir with a book signing and fundraised for a Democrat in a critical presidential state. This is becoming a familiar formula for Clinton. In October alone Clinton has four trips planned -- to Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas and San Francisco -- where she will combine a paid speech with either a book event or a fundraiser for a Democratic candidate or group. The strategy is part logistical, part practical for Clinton. But as she considers a presidential run in 2016,

I have written frequently that I estimate that one-third of the mortgage foreclosures in the 2007-10 period were of Hispanic homebuyers. Very many had been granted mortgages, despite bad or dubious credit, by lenders who then fobbed them off on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac or other mortgage securitizers, in the meantime gaining brownie points with regulators for lending to “minorities.” Evidence supporting this comes, inadvertently, from an Urban Institute report spotlighted by the industrious and provocative blogger Steve Sailer.
