Dan Rather Plots Comeback,
With Assist From Robert Redford

Power Line, by John Hinderaker

I read this story three times to make sure it wasn’t a practical joke. But no: Robert Redford to Play Dan Rather in ‘Truth’. Robert Redford has signed on to play Dan Rather in Truth, a film based on the 2005 memoir Truth and Duty: The Press, The President, and The Privilege of Power. The book, written by Rather’s producer Mary Mapes, centers on the firestorm that erupted after Rather reported that George W. Bush had gotten to serve in the National Guard in order to avoid the Vietnam War. Cate Blanchett is attached to play Mapes, who was fired after the

This is a perfect example of the extremes a leftist will go through rather than admit they did something wrong.Rather got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and now has OCD to repair his image.Redford will need a 55 gal.drum of botox to make his face acceptable.

Yeah...like "The West Wing", "The American President" and many other shows, this silly movie will serve to placate the liberal mind with a fantasy version of events because the reality of life (i.e. abject failure of their ideology) cannot be processed in the leftist mind.

Redford has long been weird, too much weed? Cate Blankett should hesitate about starring in a lie of a movie. Would bring down her popularity with the common folk, in Hollywood, she would get an Oscar! Poor ole Bush, he goes about doing good things for veterans and wounded warriors, but can´t erase the bull´s eye from his back that the worthless lefties have put there!

Dan Rather the father of the msm "fake but accurate reporting" when it comes to Republicans and conservatives. He and Walter Cronkite were the beginning of the msm being used by the Democrat Party for propaganda which continues to this day. How I loathe the msm. No one will watch the movie but that is not the point. Propaganda isn´t meant to be profitable just ubiquitous.

I saw something online that was very funny. It had Hollyweird actors/actresses who have aged poorly. It had Mickey Rourke, Melanie Griffin and guess who. Poor old Robert Redford is just too long in the tooth and it shows. He wants to badly to play another doofus reporter who stuck it to a Republican President that you know he just jumped at the script. And as for the lying cretin Rather. He screwed himself with his fake but accurate story about President Bush´s time in the National Guard. He was the biggest LSM loser between Jennings and Brokejaw (that´s saying something). Remember how he tried to make GWHB look bad and the fact that he hated his time sharing the spotlight with Connie Povich, er Chung. I hope that the movie bombs big time as the two Rs need to take their politics and go away.

Gunga Dan and Crater Face. First of all, during the Vietnam Meatgrinder War there was a draft. If you could, you got into the National Guard. Nothing wrong with that, unlike going to Canada (and later getting pardoned by Carter). Some guys kept going to school (like Clinton, who actually did dodge the draft). How did Redford dodge the draft in the late 50´s and early 60´s when he was eligible?

In the 1960´s there was a 6-year service obligation. It was usually served as 2 years active duty, 4 years drilling reserves. Bush joined the Texas Air National Guard in 1968, and served on active duty until 1973 (do the math) and was Honorably discharged in 1974 (do the Math).

Mapes´ forged letter was purported to be a recall to active duty, which he ignored. Total falsification. The man served his obligation.

I know people who have had experiences with Robert Redford and they each consider him a total jerk. However, I can´t fault Redford for aging naturally. If he chose to forego the lifts and Botox, good for him. Just take a gander at Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdink, Wayne Newton. They look like male versions of Joan Rivers and Dolly Parton.

President Obama’s call on Wednesday for the United States to lead an international military campaign in the Middle East has the potential to begin a departure from the isolationism that he and former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton have advocated during their years in office. There is a risk, however, that the president’s focus on a counterterrorism campaign akin to those waged in Yemen and Somalia, and his reliance on regional partners to deal with the challenge posed by the Islamic State, could lead to the continuation of what has been the most disengaged presidential foreign policy in modern American history.

How did a man who made it into the elite SEALs and lived lavishly while running his own money-lending firm end up homeless near an offramp? It may have been the $1 million he stole. Navy SEALs divide their own into two groups. As they see it, there are the good mugs you can count on, and then there are the 10 percenters, the minority who slip through the screening process and bring disgrace on everyone else. Jason Mullaney might have started off in the first category, but after conning 11 fellow SEALs out of more than $1 million, he’s decidedly in the second. When you are dealing with an administration whose officials look you in the eye and tell you the Muslim Brotherhood is a “largely secular” organization, it’s tempting to laugh off the idiocy spouted by President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry about how the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam. We should resist the temptation, though, because there is a dangerous purpose behind the laughable assertion. Obviously, Bing West and Daniel Pipes are correct that the terrorist group is entirely Islamic. As I’ve been arguing here more times and for more years than I care to remember, what

In bad midterm-election years, members of a president´s party often find the political climate challenging. In some ways, it is like a swimmer encountering riptides or facing strong undertows. The degree of the danger varies from location to location, and in many cases, weak swimmers struggle in this environment; occasionally, even an Olympic-level swimmer perishes. In 2010—President Obama´s first midterm election—Democratic congressional candidates struggled mightily. The party suffered a net loss of six Senate seats and 63 seats in the House. That was the worst loss for either party in any election since 1948, and the largest loss in a

In this week´s ABC News/Washington Post poll, only 31 percent of Americans approved of his handling of immigration, an issue that he recently hoped to wield as a political weapon against the Republican Party. And the same survey showed his approval on international affairs at just 38 percent—the lowest point of his presidency and an 8-point drop from late July—even as he catered to the creeping isolationist sentiment in the country.
