A Toledo solar-panel manufacturer has shut down and dozens of employees are out of work. Xunlight Corp., a flexible solar-panel manufacturer that uses technology developed at the University of Toledo and is based on Nebraska Avenue, closed its doors June 30 to “resolve some matters,” CEO John Buckey said. Mr. Buckey declined to elaborate on the cause of the shutdown, but a letter provided to The Blade that appears to have been sent by Mr. Buckey to employees on July 2 said the company is closing and makes no reference to any potential reopening. “Unfortunately, payments that were committed to

And Obama shut down all of the coal mines so they would not compete with these idealistic energy-producing companies.

Now the workers at Xunlight Corporation can relate to American coal miners.

Xungone, with the University losing its $10 million investment. UT was no better at selecting its "green" investments than Obama was in his squandering of $45 to $75 billion of our money on such madness. Worse part of Obama´s criminal investing is that his green fraudsters donated large amounts of what was once our money to Obama´s reelection campaign.

Customer service these days is outright subpar in many places. Gage, a Publix employee, is one of the good ones. When he saw an elderly man who couldn’t bend over to tie his shoe, he jumped to action. Only one shoelace was untied, but Gage redid both to make sure the laces were secure. Keith Kiel, who was shopping when he came across Gage helping out, knew he was witnessing a wonderful moment so he snapped a picture and posted it to Facebook as featured below. CHILMARK, Mass.— Foreign policy crises have a way of intruding on President Barack Obama´s Martha´s Vineyard vacations. Obama´s last three summer sojourns to this Massachusetts island have coincided with tumult primarily in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as elsewhere around the world. In 2011, the president´s golf outings and beach time were interrupted by briefings and calls to foreign leaders as opposition fighters in Libya gained against the government of Moammar Gadhafi. After skipping vacation while running for re-election in 2012, Obama returned to Martha´s Vineyard in 2013 for a trip that coincided with the Egyptian military´s

House Committee on Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) expressed his frustration at the revelation that another Obama official, Marilyn Tavenner, the director of the Center for Medicare Services, deleted emails in the wake of the botched Healthcare.gov website roll out, stating, "It defies logic that so many senior Administration officials were found to have ignored federal recordkeeping requirements only

As we celebrate President Barack Obama’s 400th fundraiser since taking office five-and-a-half years ago, it should be noted that of all the thousands of people who have attended, one group has been barred from ever entering the events: The press. Now, fundraisers can be a dicey place for the media to be. You (almost) never know what kinds of things are said in what is supposed to be behind closed doors — just ask Mitt Romney. To that end, our current president — who greatly benefited from that infamous Romney recording — has barred the press from all fundraising events.

Giving what was dubbed the “California Welcome,” Gov. Jerry Brown told attendees at the 31st Annual National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Conference in June that affluent families seemed to not be “producing” children in the state. “I don´t know what the affluent families are doing,” Brown said. “They´re not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families.” At the conference, held in San Diego, Calif., in late June, Brown said California had addressed the fact that millions of children in the state’s school do not speak English.

Taped interviews have a way of coming back to haunt politicians. And the timing couldn’t be better for this gem, brought to us by Weasel Zippers, who dug up this pre-election interview with then-Senator Barack Obama in 2008. The senator had high expectations for himself, if he were to receive Americans’ vote for President. You have to understand that if you seek that office, then you have to be prepared to give your life to it. Essentially, the bargain that I think every President strikes with the American people is, ‘you give me this office, then in turn my fears,

The chief law enforcement officer of the United States is the Attorney General. He/she is charged with the investigations and prosecutions of Federal crimes. When there is corruption in the government, it is the Attorney General who is charged with ferreting out the corrupt and restoring integrity to the Federal government. But what if the Attorney General selectively seeks out crimes to investigate? What if the Attorney General turns a blind eye to those crimes and scandals that will discredit his political interests? What if the Attorney General himself is corrupt? Our Founding Fathers crafted a form of government that

As conflict continued in Iraq, President Barack Obama waged a different kind of war during his vacation at Martha´s Vineyard - on the golf course. Obama was escorted to the Farm Neck Golf Club, in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, by a huge motorcade, which included a SWAT team and two snipers who peered out of an open trunk. Sporting a United States Secret Service baseball cap, Obama seemed reasonably relaxed despite the hefty protection, laughing and chatting with his golfing buddies in between holes. Obama fled Washington for his family´s familiar vacation spot yesterday for a two-week summer break. Moments before

The decision by Sen. It didn´t take long for Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) to embrace amnesty again. As soon as he won his Senate primary election against conservative Joe Carr, Alexander said it was "embarrassing" that Republicans have not yet passed a bill. Never mind that Alexander spent nearly his entire primary campaign trying to convince voters that he was against "amnesty" and would never dare to embrace it before the primary election. “I don’t know how it will affect our politics in the near term," Alexander told Politico of a comprehensive immigration bill. “I think it’s embarrassing for us not to deal with the problem, and

When he was running for re-election in 2012, President Barack Obama repeatedly took credit for ending the war in Iraq and bringing all U.S. troops home from that country. At the White House on Saturday, however, when talking about his decision to use military force against the al-Qaida-related ISIS terrorist group in Iraq, Obama said removing all U.S. troops from Iraq was not “my decision.” “You know I say what I mean and I mean what I say,” Obama said in Hollywood, Florida on Nov. 4, 2012. “I said I´d end the war in Iraq. A 40-year political career came to a close after Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie lost his bid for a second term in a stunning primary-election defeat by a fellow Democrat and state senator who defied party leadership to challenge the incumbent. A second intraparty fight for U.S. Senate was too close to call. State Sen. David Ige, once seen as an underdog, cruised to a decisive 35 percentage point win in Saturday´s primary after being dramatically outspent by Abercrombie, who also had high-profile endorsements including President Barack Obama.
