Obama’s Katrina? It’s Actually Worse
Commentary Magazine, by Jonathan S. Tobin

For once, I have to agree with the White House. They’re right to deny that the debacle along the border with Mexico is President Obama’s Hurricane Katrina moment. It’s actually much worse. White House Domestic Policy Council Director Cecilia Muñoz said it wasn’t fair to compare the debacle along the border with Mexico to Hurricane Katrina. She’s right about that. The Katrina analogy has been mooted by a number of conservative writers but got some extra juice this week when Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar, whose Texas district is situated along the border where locals have been overwhelmed by the surge of

Katrina was a natural disaster. The amnesty mess is a man-caused disaster, much like any other terrorist event.

This IS a man caused disaster, fomented by the obama bunch, to bully Congress and the people into ´immigration reform´.

However, just like Fast and Furious, it has blown up in their face and now the government is hiding the scale of this disaster.

AND, this is a disaster that will keep on giving for decades.

Katrina was also a Democratic caused disaster. Check who the Mayor of New Orleans was at the time.

Everyday is like Katrina with this President. He´s been the worst of Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon combined.

I wish I´d never heard the name Barack Hussein Obama. Our country seemed so different before him. Remember the the Middle East was pretty stable? When Israel was our ally? When Poland and Turkey had the missle shield? No Benghzi. No IRS. No Eric Holder. No border meltdown. No jihadists taking over the middle east. Never heard of the knockout game. It seems so long ago

The response to Hurricane Katrina at the REAL ´Ground Zero´ here on the Mississippi coast was SUPERB! NEVER forget that!
I know! I live here! I had 14 feet of storm surge water in my yard, and my (raised) house is the southernmost house in my neighborhood that was still standing after the storm.

The response in Louisiana, and particularly in New Orleans, was delayed by the Democrat-party governor Blanco and (recently-convicted) Mayor Nagin. My understanding is that they deliberately refused Federal help so as to delay the disaster response, in order to blame President Bush.

On the other hand, as I understand it, the illegal immigration disaster has been caused by Obama´s deliberate dereliction of duty and his deliberate policy to not secure the border with Mexico.

We don´t have a strategy yet to attack Islamic State. But they are developing a strategy to attack us. A laptop found by Syrian rebels last January in an ISIS hideout proved to be a goldmine of information. Foreign Policy´s Harald Doornbos and Jenan Moussa got their hands on the machine, downloaded 146 gigabytes of material, and were shocked at what they found: The laptop´s contents turn out to be a treasure trove of documents that provide ideological justifications for jihadi organizations -- and practical training on how to carry out the Islamic State´s deadly campaigns. The White House is insisting the U.S. is not at war with the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, despite an aggressive air campaign and previously labeling the jihadist group an "imminent threat to every interest we have." "Before getting into the strategy, though, there seems [to be] a fundamental, existential question: Is the United States presently at war with ISIS — yes or no?" MSNBC host Chris Hayes asked President Barack Obama´s top spokesman, White House press secretary Josh Earnest, on Thursday. Earnest went with "no." "No, Chris. There have been several reports of American citizens joining (and even dying for) ISIS, and now a man in Chicago was arrested this week after waving an ISIS flag out the window of his car and threatening to detonate a bomb when the police tried to inspect the vehicle. A resident called police upon seeing Emad Karakrah with the ISIS flag hanging out of his car. When police responded, Karakrah drove off, and made it through several red lights before being pulled over. And then, as he was being arrested, Karakrah reportedly made a serious threat. A growing number of Americans say they believe the U.S. Department of Justice is motivated primarily by political interests and not by the pursuit of the truth, according to a survey from Rasmussen Reports. The poll, which was conducted on Aug. 26-27 and contains a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points, found that only 38 percent of U.S. voters hold a favorable opinion of the department headed by Attorney General Eric Holder, while a much larger 53 percent hold an unfavorable opinion. The former Army psychiatrist who killed 13 people in the 2009 shooting spree at Fort Hood has said it would be ´an honor´ to join the caliphate in a letter to ISIS, it has been reported. Nidal Hasan has apparently requested to be made a ´citizen soldier´ of the caliphate in the letter to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Hasan opened fire on his fellow servicemen and women on November 5, killing 13 and injuring 30 others. He was shot and paralyzed from the waist down in the resulting gunfire and was sentenced to death last year. Earlier this year FBI Director
