Is Obama Just a Hapless Putz?
PJ Media, by Andrew Klavan

In an interview the other day, I was asked what the president might’ve been thinking when he instigated the chaos on our borders with his talk of pen-and-phone amnesty. Half a dozen things went through my mind. Maybe he’s trying some sort of Cloward-Piven maneuver: an attempt to overwhelm our welfare state to the point where we replace it with “a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty.” Or maybe he’s just trying to flood the population with Democrat voters. Or maybe he feels America stole its southland from Hispanic people anyway and it’s up to him to

I couldn´t agree more. The man and his administration has no strategy. They have outcomes they´d like to see but no understanding of how to reach them. So they create chaos. Once Obama´s gone all things Obama will soon go with him.

I couldn´t disagree more. Just look at the policies LBJ shoved through 50 years ago. They are still spreading destruction and havoc throughout the land.

He is not hapless, and he is not a putz. Or rather, he may be both of those things, but so what? The policies he agrees with -- and fronts for -- have been implemented to an appalling degree, in the space of just five years sending our country tobogganing down the slide to ironbound statist collectivism.

Chaos is the goal, and rearranging the debris to reflect the Marxist model is the Grail.

Halting the collapse and repairing the damage that´s been done will take more collective backbone (and more southerly anatomical features) than our so-called leaders have displayed at any point in the last 70 years.

FTA: The guy is just a sad little schmuck who played cynical politics well and got promoted way above his competence. His policies won’t change the face of the nation. They’ll just make a mess that those who come after him will have to clean up.

I wish I could be as nonchalant as Klavan concerning the evil Obama. I don´t understand why intelligent people like Klavan cannot see the comparisons of Obama to former horrific leaders like Stalin, etc. The tyrannical behavior of those in agencies like the IRS and the EPA are just a couple of examples. They are there to do the bidding of Barack Hussein Obama to crush all of us. I would love to believe it will be as easy as he describes to clean up the mess.

Recently, a few conservative intellectuals have raised serious questions about the College Board’s effort to develop a new curriculum for the Advanced Placement history courses. Stanley Kurtz, at National Review Online, writes that “this Framework will effectively force American high schools to teach U.S. history from a leftist perspective.” Naturally, the College Board argues that its intent is only to provide “balance,” to streamline the curriculum, and to enhance teacher flexibility. In other words, all benign matters that educators should welcome.

They DO have a strategy, but they prefer to appear indecisive. That’s because the strategy would likely provoke even greater criticism than the false confession of endless dithering. The actual strategy is detente first, and then a full alliance with Iran throughout the Middle East and North Africa. It has been on display since before the beginning of the Obama administration. During his first presidential campaign in 2008, Mr. Obama used a secret back channel to Tehran to assure the mullahs that he was a friend of the Islamic Republic, and that they would be very happy with his policies.

We often read or hear from the media that a nation is “shocked” or “horrified” by the revelation of some crime or government scandal. It is almost never true. (Snip) Since Tuesday afternoon, however, Britain has felt real shock and horror over the report that 1,400 young women in the South Yorkshire town of Rotherham had been groomed, raped, prostituted, trafficked, and brutally abused in almost every possible way by a criminal gang for the last 16 years. In addition, the authorities — which in this case are the local government authority, the police, and the child-protection services

Education: For a parent, the headline couldn´t be more alarming: "Teacher of the Year accused of molesting student, charged with 5 felonies." It´s a story that, tragically, is all too common — and all too underreported. Why? We´ve all heard of the Catholic Church child abuse scandal that´s still regularly covered, 20 to 40 years after much of the abuse took place. It too was tragic, and acknowledged as such by the church, which has taken action to prevent its ever happening again. The same can´t be said of unionized public education — where child abuse appears to be rampant, often with

When it comes to Iraq, Obama lectures the Sunnis and the Shiites on getting along and forming a government that won’t exist for the sole benefit of a single group at the expense of the other. But in America he runs exactly that type of government. Iraqis are not stupid. They look at the news and they see Ferguson and Al Sharpton screaming at angry mobs and know that Obama is not practicing what he preaches to them. Obama may have forced out Maliki, but his own tribal politics are hard to distinguish from those of Maliki.

Government coercion of the financial sector to make irresponsible loans was the primary driver of the 2007-08 financial meltdown. SALT LAKE CITY — A federal judge declared a portion of Utah’s polygamy ban unconstitutional late Wednesday, essentially decriminalizing polygamy in the state. U.S. District Court Judge Clark Waddoups ruled the phrase in the law “‘or cohabits with another person’ is a violation of the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and is without a rational basis under the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.” The ruling comes in a lawsuit filed by reality TV polygamist Kody Brown and his wives, who left Utah fearing prosecution. Congress will barely be in session in the 10 weeks before Election Day, and it will do very little legislating. One of the issues it does have to resolve, though, is what to do with the Export-Import Bank. Ex-Im is a federal agency that subsidizes U.S. exporters, giving taxpayer-backed financing to foreign companies and governments. Conservatives are giving this agency a hard time, and House leaders show no desire to take up a bill reauthorizing Ex-Im. But government-shutdown politics complicates things. Watching the events unfold in Ferguson, Missouri, I can’t help thinking about the Holocaust and post-war Germany. As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, I’ve spent years watching Germany wrestle with its dark past. It’s just one of many places that have made efforts to understand and compensate for a difficult history: For nearly three decades, countries as varied as South Africa, Rwanda, and the nations of Latin America and post-Communist Eastern Europe have been engaged in this process, often called “transitional justice.” That’s a broad term for the ways in which societies deal with the legacies of past injustice.

It will take two decades to rebuild the thousands of houses destroyed during Israel’s assault on Gaza, according to a recent NGO report. At least 17,000 homes were obliterated or severely damaged during the conflict, with thousands more needing substantial repairs, according to an assessment by Shelter Cluster. More than 2,100 Palestinians, most of them civilians, were killed during the conflict. In addition 71 Israelis were killed – all but six of them soldiers. But the report on Gaza’s housing stock indicates inhabitants of the densely populated strip will face a severe infrastructural burden over the coming years.
