Former IRS Director: IRS Scandal
Due to Budget Restrictions

Cybercast News Service, by Ali Meyer

A former IRS director said Tuesday that IRS mismanagement was due to budget restrictions and a backlog of applications, claiming it had nothing to do with tax-exempt organizations. “This issue with the IRS performance has been building for a long time, and critical decisions were made actually back in 2003. Training was cut back dramatically in 2003 because of budget restrictions,” said Marcus Owens, former director for the Exempt Organizations Division of the IRS for 10 years, during a panel discussion hosted by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) at the Capitol. “The backlog of applications was growing enormous –

What a bunch of really bad lies.

All the more reason to eliminate the IRS and go flat tax.

What kind of "budget restrictions" does a government agency have when they can hire 16,000 armed agents?

And didn´t we just hear that Treasury set a record for tax revenues collected?

So having less funds than you might like causes your agency to illegally target certain political factions?

I think Trey Gowdy should subpoena Marcus Owens. Maybe this corruption has been going on longer than realized.

How stupid does this idiot think we are. I could make a better case that if the IRS directors and management had done their jobs, the time Lerner and the IRS spent targeting conservative groups could have gone to being productive and thereby reducing the need for additional budget increases.

The government cannot do anything right, including collect money. The IRS is in complete CYA mode. There is no way that "training" can explain the complete bias of targeting and delaying Conservative organizations and rubber stamping of liberal organizations. The IRS acted as a political operative and it´s illegal. Period. They know this could trigger a major shakeup and reorganization of the IRS. A lot of comfy career bureaucrats could find themselves in trouble. Why, they might actually be held accountable for their jobs. What a shock THAT would be.

“Huge,” “bold,” and “unprecedented” is how a thrilled Representative Luis Gutiérrez (D., Ill.) described reports that the Obama administration is considering granting legal status to up to 5 million illegal immigrants. He’s especially excited, he said, because the White House is actually trying to downplay the significance of the huge measure. “It’s music to my ears” said Gutiérrez, one of the leading voices in the House to pass comprehensive immigration reform, on MSNBC. America has a deficit of workers. Willing workers. Capable workers. Skilled, or at least semi-skilled workers, who can do a job and do it well. There are at least one million jobs that go begging day after day if only employers could find workers to fill them. This probably seems hard-to-believe. After all, how can America have a worker shortage when we have about 18 million Americans who are unemployed or underemployed? When the real unemployment rate is 12 percent? (Snip) But there are also millions of unemployed Americans who don’t have the skill sets to match what employers are in need
