5 Reasons Why New York Times Editorial
Today Is An Embarrassment To Journalism

Buzzfeed, by Israelinusa

Original Article

1. The New York Times writes that “after days of near silence,” Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned the murder of a Palestinian teenager on Sunday. But Netanyahu called the murder “reprehensible” on Wednesday, the day it occurred, and the next day, in his first public appearance since the murder, again forcefully condemned the killing on prime-time national television. Early July 4th weekend for the entire New York Times editorial board? 2. The New York Times omits that Prime Minister Netanyahu called the father of the murdered boy yesterday to personally express his outrage and condemnation. Maybe the New York Times didn’t get that press

What do you mean, five reasons?
More like 5,000 reasons.
Their unqualified support for progressive politicians, their love for dictators, their disdain for republican governments, their love of Statists--what is left to criticize?
The NYT does not hire journalists. They hire fabulists, propagandists, and panegyrists.
The truth is not an issue at the Times. What matters is the State, always the State, the Glorious State, which can never make a mistake.
RRRight.
Any truth which interferes with their meme is quashed.
When they can´t find truth, they make it up.
Ugh.

Netanyahu´s statements are pro forma only, the truth of the situation is still unknown and may remain so - more than likely the poor innocent yute was wearing a mask and throwing stones along with his buddies, and may have been cursing out the fighting back when tackled. That doesn´t make beating him all skittles and beer, but it does bring it within defensible and common practice.

As for the New York Times, it has become nothing but a malignant tumor on the body politic, they gave up any pretense to modern journalism when they lost the difference between fact and agitprop lies and omissions in their front page stories.

The Peace Corps’ inspector general says she can’t oversee the agency properly without access to sex-assault records it refuses to hand over. Why won’t the Peace Corps comply? The Peace Corps’ internal watchdog is publicly criticizing the agency for not releasing sexual assault records, which they say is disrupting oversight of an agency that has struggled in the past to protect its volunteers. It’s a worrisome charge, leveled at one of America’s most storied programs by its own inspector general, and is just the latest episode for an organization roiled by exposés about the deaths of its volunteers abroad and the inadequacy

It’s hard for Americans who fought in the war in Iraq to watch the rapid advances being made there by the brutal terrorist force that calls itself the Islamic State. Military veterans of the Iraq War told The Daily Signal that they were heartened that President Obama ordered airstrikes against the Islamic State. But, most said, they remain unsettled by the president’s decision to withdraw — and are concerned that the sacrifices and gains they made for Iraqi freedom were, in one soldier’s words, “for naught.” Besides a series of airstrikes to kill and scatter fighters of the Islamic State — formerly

Should Obama Do More on
Ferguson and Other Racial Issues?
NBC News, by Perry Bacon, Jr.    Original Article

Criticisms of President Barack Obama’s approach to race relations are unlikely to fade in the wake of his comments about the shooting of an unarmed black teenager by police in Ferguson, Missouri. Some black activists say Obama’s response to this and similar situations show that he is too reluctant to address directly issues of race. As he did in the wake of the Trayvon Martin killing and George Zimmerman’s subsequent acquittal, Obama played the role of unifier in his speech at Martha’s Vineyard, condemning the police actions in Ferguson but also urging blacks not to respond with violence. Twenty years ago, Chiang was considered an enemy of the people on mainland China. Today, he has become part of mainstream culture - sort of. If it wasn’t bad enough that the three-term Louisiana Democrat was already considered one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the 2014 midterms -- whose seat could determine control of the Senate -- this week, Landrieu’s re-election bid was rocked by turbulence over a private jet scandal and the announcement that her leading opponent now has more money to spend in the campaign. The campaign of her GOP challenger, Rep. Bill Cassidy, announced Thursday that he had pulled ahead of Landrieu with $5.6 million cash on hand, according to new FEC filing posted

Since Robert Draper’s provocative New York Times piece posed the question, national pundits have been consumed by whether the country is experiencing a “libertarian moment.” Their answers have varied, largely based on what they think about libertarianism themselves. If anywhere in America could use a libertarian moment, it is Ferguson, Missouri. That’s where Michael Brown, an eighteen-year-old, unarmed black man, was shot to death by the police. Since then, all hell has broken loose. The police claim Brown was going for the officer’s gun. One eyewitness said all Brown did was instinctively pull away when the officer grabbed him by the throat.

A Travis County grand jury today indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two charges related to his effort last year to force District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign after her drunken driving arrest. Grand jurors charged Perry, 63, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public official. The indictments stemmed from Perry’s threat last summer to withhold $7.2 million in state money from Lehmberg’s office unless she step down – a threat he later carried out by vetoing an appropriation in the state budget. The money was earmarked for the state’s Public Integrity Unit, which is housed in Lehmberg’s office. Perry’s veto forced

This is ridiculous. AUSTIN (KXAN) – A grand jury has handed up an indictment against Gov. Rick Perry in connection with the investigation into an effort to force Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign. Perry wanted Lehmberg to resign because she had been busted for drunk driving. It’s not good to have a drunk driver, captured on camera abusing the officers who arrested her, heading up the Public Integrity Unit. At the center of the issue is a complaint about intimidation stemming from Perry’s threat to veto of $7.5 million in state funding to the Public Integrity Unit

They say a prosecutor could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, and this always seemed like hyperbole, until Friday night a Texas grand jury announced an indictment of governor Rick Perry. The “crime” for which Perry faces a sentence of 5 to 99 years in prison is vetoing funding for a state agency. The conventions of reporting — which treat the fact of an indictment as the primary news, and its merit as a secondary analytic question — make it difficult for people reading the news to grasp just how farfetched this indictment is. The scandal that erupted Friday night involved millions of dollars, statehouse power plays—oh yeah, and alcohol, police, and masks. Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted Friday on charges of abuse of power—a first degree felony—and coercion—a third degree felony. The charges stem from a 2013 scandal that has been quietly rumbling in the Lone Star State as Perry has been floated as a viable contender for the Republican nomination in 2016. This is a complex case, which might be why it has not made national headlines the way other recent, state-level scandals (like Bridgegate, in New Jersey) have. Below, I have outlined

A grand jury in Travis County, Texas, indicted Governor Rick Perry today. Why? For exercising his constitutional prerogative by threatening to veto, and then vetoing, an appropriation to support the public corruption unit in Travis County’s district attorney’s office. This followed the arrest of the county’s district attorney, Democratic Party activist Rosemary Lehmberg, for drunk driving, after she was found “with an open bottle of vodka in the front passenger seat of her car in a church parking lot in Austin.” Ms. Lehmberg served 45 days in jail. The Travis County district attorney’s office has long been a cesspool of corruption.

The Obama administration has done little to calm racial tensions as they spread from Manhattan to St. Louis to Los Angeles. Quite the opposite, some top officials have fueled African-American fears of racism with false accusations of anti-black discrimination. Attorney General Eric Holder’s race-baiting is no secret. Justice Department documents show the nation’s top cop gave thousands of dollars to help the Rev. Al Sharpton organize marches protesting the death of Trayvon Martin. Now he’s sent the civil-rights unit to St. Louis to do the same thing in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. Less known, however, is the role of Labor Secretary Thomas
