George Clooney: ‘I seldom
respond to tabloids,’ but Daily
Mail has crossed line

Washington Post, by Soraya Nadia McDonald

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 7/9/2014 10:21:21 AM

Actor George Clooney had harsh words for Britain’s Daily Mail in a searing essay penned for USA Today that the paper published on its Web site Wednesday morning. At issue was a recent article in which the British newspaper said that the mother of Clooney’s betrothed, Amal Alamuddin, was against their upcoming marriage because Clooney is not Druze, a small Middle-Eastern religion with communities in Lebanon and Syria. Alamuddin is a British-Lebanese human rights barrister in London. The Daily Mail, citing “close family friends,” reported Alamuddin’s mother, Baria, wanted her to marry someone Druze.

Comments:
For some reason I didn´t think the original story was true either, it just didn´t have the ring of truth.

Clooney is so thinned skinned just like his pal Obama. Seems to me that this marriage is so he can cross into politics. Maybe I´m wrong but most of his ladies don´t cross the 2 year mark. I don´t watch his movies, he´s a lousy actor.

People just aren´t convinced of your sincerity George. You have a serious lack of credibility with the movie going public.

What a saint he is - we´re only waiting on official word from the Vatican.

After fighting off this hurtful fiction, George can get on with making another paranoid leftist political fantasy.

With prospects for major legislation nonexistent, Obama is looking to plant seeds that he hopes his successors can cultivate. President Obama spent much of his first term fending off criticism that he hadn’t done enough for the black community, and that he wasn’t paying enough attention to Africa, where his father was born and where expectations soared after his election. In his second term, he’s making up for lost time. Earlier this year, he launched his “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative aimed at boosting opportunities for boys and young men of color, and this week, he hosted 50 heads of state

When council members went to take the flag down, they were surprised to find, someone had beat them to it. “The council can confirm that following reports this morning of a flag erected on the

I wonder how the Ebola doctor feels now that his humanitarian trip has cost a Christian charity much more than any services he rendered. What was the point? Whatever good Dr. Kent Brantly did in Liberia has now been overwhelmed by the more than $2 million already paid by the Christian charities Samaritan´s Purse and SIM USA just to fly him and his nurse home in separate Gulfstream jets, specially equipped with medical tents, and to care for them at one of America´s premier hospitals. That word comes from the attorney for Dorian Johnson, speaking to MSNBC. Police in Ferguson had earlier announced that Brown was suspected of taking cigars from the convenience store in what was described as a "strong-arm robbery." Brown´s family is accusing police of trying to draw attention away from the shooting.

In addition, 15 percent of its overall workforce is Asian, 11 percent is Hispanic, and 7 percent is Black. Instead of being handled as a military-to-military matter, each case is now subject to review—slowing the approval process and signaling to Israel that military assistance once taken for granted is now under closer scrutiny. California lawmakers are poised to enact a regulation requiring every college and university that receives public funding to define consensual sex in a way that attempts to micro-manage everyone’s sexual affairs. The first-in-the-nation legislation already passed California’s state Senate by a vote of 27-4 in May, The Associated Press reports. If the bill passes the assembly this month, it will then go to the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown. The bill, which is based on guidance from the Obama administration, requires an “affirmative consent standard” that school administrators would use to determine whether a sexual assault has occurred.
