George Clooney: ‘I seldom
respond to tabloids,’ but Daily
Mail has crossed line

Washington Post, by Soraya Nadia McDonald

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 7/9/2014 10:21:21 AM

Actor George Clooney had harsh words for Britain’s Daily Mail in a searing essay penned for USA Today that the paper published on its Web site Wednesday morning. At issue was a recent article in which the British newspaper said that the mother of Clooney’s betrothed, Amal Alamuddin, was against their upcoming marriage because Clooney is not Druze, a small Middle-Eastern religion with communities in Lebanon and Syria. Alamuddin is a British-Lebanese human rights barrister in London. The Daily Mail, citing “close family friends,” reported Alamuddin’s mother, Baria, wanted her to marry someone Druze.

Comments:
For some reason I didn´t think the original story was true either, it just didn´t have the ring of truth.

Clooney is so thinned skinned just like his pal Obama. Seems to me that this marriage is so he can cross into politics. Maybe I´m wrong but most of his ladies don´t cross the 2 year mark. I don´t watch his movies, he´s a lousy actor.

Get used to it George, and just wait until the weekly, She can´t take it anymore, its a trip to divorce court for George, stories. Those will start within the first month or so after the wedding.

People just aren´t convinced of your sincerity George. You have a serious lack of credibility with the movie going public.

What a saint he is - we´re only waiting on official word from the Vatican.

After fighting off this hurtful fiction, George can get on with making another paranoid leftist political fantasy.

Gerald Cheek, now retired from his position as Falkland Islands Director of Civil Aviation, has addressed a letter to the Penguin News clarifying some details about the ´Unwelcome visits from aircraft´, clearly in reference to episodes of Argentine aircraft incursion and landing in the Islands. This was motivated by an article in the Penguin News about the flight of Argentine-Irish pilot Miguel Fitzgerald solo flight in a Cessna 185 aircraft to the Islands in 1964, where he landed at the Stanley racecourse. In effect, Mr. Cheek says that what did puzzle him was the distance stated by Fitzgerald, 550 miles from

As part of a visit to Chile assessing the country’s treatment of women’s rights reform, a team of U.N. experts published a report on Wednesday expressing support for the legalization of abortion under special circumstances for girls younger than 18 years of age. U.N. human rights experts Frances Raday and Alda Facio arrived in Chile last week to urge the government to enact reform aimed at increasing women’s political participation, protecting them from domestic violence and decreasing teenage pregnancy, among other issues. “Chile finds itself at an opportune moment in which it has the economic capacity and the political will to make

The very public break-up between Rep. Mark Sanford and his fiancée came as a surprise to his fiancée, who told the New York Times on Saturday that she learned about it from the media. Maria Belen Chapur told the Times that she had spent time with Sanford in Paris last week. Chapur had such a wonderful time during their time in France that she felt it was like a “honeymoon,” she said. But then she learned Saturday that Sanford had written a 2,400-plus word post on Facebook announcing his intention to break up with her. “I learned it from the press today,”

The front page of today’s New York Times features an article titled Paths to War, Then and Now, Haunt Obama. It is an exercise in journalism as a hall of mirrors. The article, by Peter Baker, is “based on interviews with 10 people who spoke with [Obama] in the days leading up to his speech Wednesday night.” These conversations occurred on two occasions: a dinner at the White House for “a group of foreign policy experts and former government officials,” and a separate discussion with a “group of columnists and magazine writers.” Baker’s article includes extensive quotes by President Obama,

Raids on Thursday left lawmen declaring Los Angeles a cash-laundering mecca. Roping off 100 blocks of downtown Los Angeles this week, federal agents from the U.S. attorney´s office raided roughly 70 garment district businesses along with a few houses in tony Westwood and Beverly Hills. The suspected crime was laundering money for Mexico´s Sinaloa cartel. Agents hauled out $65 million in cash stuffed in duffel bags, suitcases and boxes, some of it blood-spattered.

As temperatures soared Friday, a brush fire burning in the mountains of Cleveland National Forest south of Corona grew to 1,600 acres, sending a plume of smoke towering above Silverado Canyon that was visible from miles away. Mandatory evacuations started at 6 p.m. for the area from 30331 Silverado Canyon Road east to the end of the canyon, authorities. That order was issued in part because of expected nighttime downslope winds that could push the flames into populated areas in the canyon bottom, Battalion Chief Mike Petro said. On a daily basis, numerous street vendors and performers can be found throughout Lima trying to make ends meet. Whether they are juggling or dancing at intersections or perhaps offering to wash a car, it can be assumed that these individuals have little to no fixed income. It is becoming increasingly likely as well that they are foreigners. On Wednesday, authorities decided that the issue of foreigners who have arrived to Lima illegally needed to be resolved. In such districts as Miraflores, San Isidro, and Central Lima, a total of 32 male and 10 female foreigners were detained. Those rounded up by the police were natives of Argentina,

The home page of the site that included a "remarks" button in addition to the "contact" button vanished sometime between July 23 and August 27 as these images show: Mrs. Clinton launched the website within a week of concluding her tenure as

In April 2003, the list was updated to include 49 countries, though it was reduced to 48 after Costa Rica objected to its inclusion. Of the 48 states on the list, three contributed troops to the invasion force (the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland). An additional 37 countries provided some number of troops to support military operations after the invasion was complete. Despite these numbers the liberal media continues to push the lie

The Department of Labor coordinated with the White House on whether or not to release hidden portions of former Labor Secretary Hilda Solis’ schedule as Solis battled an FBI investigation into her illegal fundraising for President Obama. The White House then asked for the name of the conservative group making the request — information that Labor officials were eager to give up. As TheDC previously

There’s a lot of competition for Barack Obama’s biggest lie. The man who could assure the American public with a straight face over thirty times that they could keep their doctor under his health plan, when he knew that to be completely false, is one hellluva fibber. But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder. Islam has been doing that pretty much straight

Is a mutiny happening around President Obama? It appears possible that the president may not have made two of his most recent decisions with complete free will. The announcement that he would delay his immigration initiative until after the election and his formal announcement that the United States would take military action against the Islamic State could have been coerced. Maybe Democratic leaders in Congress and a few members of the Obama team have had it. Could it be that, after President Obama briefed Democrats in Congress on the immigration plan, they balked? Maybe the president was told that, if he
