Funny stuff. But why the picture of Ann Romney smiling at the top and the Wookie pouting at the bottom? None of the jokes were about them, unless I missed one....

A few entries above Michelle´s picture was this:

Conan: Michelle Obama says she wants Americans to elect a woman president "as soon as possible." So even she’s had enough of President Obama.

But I didn´t see one about Ann Romney, nor the tortoise.

However, 35 years ago, at grandpa´s trot line on Lake Hugo (Oklahoma) we caught a snapping turtle that was sooo big! It bit a half-inch hole through a wooden boat paddle, it was nearly 2 feet across, so I called the OKC Zoo, to see if they would accept a donation. The lady said, "Sure, just put it in a shoebox." I told her it would eat a shoebox in one bite. That snapping turtle might warrant a claim of self-defense in a fatal shooting.

Obama lifts ban on Libyans attending flight

Remember the aftermath of 9/11 when investigators made the chilling discovery that American flight instructors had unwittingly taught the Arab hijackers how to fly jumbo jets like the ones they plowed into the World Trade Center and Pentagon, killing some 3,000 innocents? Turns out, President Reagan worried about terrorist hijackers using airplanes as weapons way back in 1983. He banned Libyans from taking flight lessons or nuclear studies in the United States. Now, believe it or not, President Obama is lifting that ban because, aides say, post-Gaddafi Libya and its relations with the United States are "normalized."

There is, as you may have heard, a growing online library of ISIS videos and photos, proudly portraying the most vividly graphic images of terrorists acts against other humans during its ongoing march across Iraq. We do not recommend seeking out these profane boasts for they will forever be seared into your minds-eye. [Snip] So, it was with some pride that many of us heard President Obama the other day say: “When you have a unique circumstance in which genocide is threatened, and a country is willing to have us in there, you have a strong international consensus that these

Luring Hillary Clinton into his Cabinet as secretary of State for the entire first term was one of those rare political deals that both sides won. Clinton got an executive position and foreign affairs exposure, which her resume sorely lacked. And Obama plopped his bitter Democrat primary rival into a non-political spot where she couldn´t publicly second-guess him or his administration. But that was then. This is now.

When President George W. Bush ordered a U.S. troop surge into Iraq in 2007, Sen. B. Obama was adamantly opposed. In fact, he said the surge would only worsen sectarian strife. From the first gleam in his eye of an Oval Office, Obama ran against any war in Iraq. [Snip] Obama is, of course, infamous for his convenient memory and prediction capabilities. If you like that president, you can keep that president. But what did Obama say about U.S. troops in Iraq, when did he say it? And Joe Biden and others. Are they consistent? President Obama’s weekly remarks. This week, I authorized two operations in Iraq. First, I directed our military to take action to protect our American diplomats and military advisors serving in the city of Erbil. In recent days, terrorist forces neared the city. President Obama has a habit of issuing formal statements of sadness upon deaths in the news. Usually they begin "Michelle and I were saddened..." And they include the words "our hearts and prayers go out to the families." Obama does it somewhat more than most modern presidents, especially if the dead person is an African leader. He was assassinated and a dozen others wounded at a training camp near Kabul by a man in an Afghan army uniform, the first American general to die in a combat zone since the Vietnam

As planned, President Obama, his minions and the largely-complicit D.C. political media are using the absence of Congress to build the anticipatory drumbeat about what exactly the chief executive intends to do by himself over the boiling issue of illegal immigrants. [Snip] Aides say Obama will move at "the end of summer," an intentionally vague time-frame. Our guess is shortly after Labor Day when he can focus public attention on his moves as the Nov. 4 midterm elections approach. Narcissist or not, every president wants to control the media narrative. This is especially so for disastrous presidencies like Obama´s.

On Friday, we learned that our economy created over 200,000 new jobs in July. That’s on top of about 300,000 new jobs in June. We’re now in a six-month streak with at least 200,000 new jobs each month. That hasn’t happened since 1997. All told, our businesses have created 9.9 million jobs over the past 53 months. FERGUSON, Mo. — The friend who was with Michael Brown when he was shot and killed by a police officer near St. Louis over the weekend is reportedly confirming that he and Brown had taken part in the theft of cigars from a convenience store that day. That word comes from the attorney for Dorian Johnson, speaking to MSNBC. Police in Ferguson had earlier announced that Brown was suspected of taking cigars from the convenience store in what was described as a "strong-arm robbery." Brown´s family is accusing police of trying to draw attention away from the shooting.

A Travis County grand jury today indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two charges related to his effort last year to force District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign after her drunken driving arrest. Grand jurors charged Perry, 63, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public official. The indictments stemmed from Perry’s threat last summer to withhold $7.2 million in state money from Lehmberg’s office unless she step down – a threat he later carried out by vetoing an appropriation in the state budget. The money was earmarked for the state’s Public Integrity Unit, which is housed in Lehmberg’s office. Perry’s veto forced

What on earth? In the middle of a war this country’s president publicly says is justified owing to the relentlessness of the rocket fire against civilian populations, U.S. officials proudly tell the Wall Street Journal, they are holding up weapons transfers to Israel: They decided to require White House and State Department approval for even routine munitions requests by Israel, officials say. Instead of being handled as a military-to-military matter, each case is now subject to review—slowing the approval process and signaling to Israel that military assistance once taken for granted is now under closer scrutiny. Washington - Defense Department officials said late Wednesday that United States airstrikes and Kurdish fighters had broken the Islamic militants’ siege of Mount Sinjar, allowing thousands of the Yazidis trapped there to escape. An initial report from about a dozen Marines and Special Operations forces who arrived on Tuesday and spent 24 hours on the northern Iraqi mountain said that “the situation is much more manageable,” a senior Defense official said in an interview.
