Disgraced former New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin was set to be sentenced by a federal judge on Wednesday on 20 corruption charges that could land him in prison for two decades. A jury in February found Nagin guilty of charges that include bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, money laundering and tax evasion, all in the wake of hurricane Katrina. Nagin stirred national controversy with his erratic behavior after Katrina in 2005 breached floodwalls and inundated New Orleans, killing at least 1,500 people and leaving tens of thousands homeless. Prosecutors have asked for a stiff sentence of about 20 years, while Nagin´s attorney, citing his

Made my day, never forget this guy for not putting thousands of people on the available school buses-had drivers and gas-but hey, no air-condition! So if Bush could not deliver buses with air-condition-darn if he was going to use the ones that would have saved hundreds of lives. When he ran for election after Katrina, and won, I asked a friend living there how come? She said, would you believe, the white guy running against him was a snake too--but sorry no one could have been worse then the self proclaimed Chocolate City Major.

Don´t get too excited - he is not in prison yet
- although overwhelming evidence proved him guilty, you must remember that he is black and black skin color usually stands in the way of normal sentencing.

Here is a multiple-choice question. See if you can get it right. Asking for advice from Dick Cheney on foreign policy is as sensible as: A. Getting advice from Anthony Weiner on appropriate texting B. Asking Ted Cruz for counsel on the virtues of silence C. Expecting Vladimir Putin to say he’s sorry D. All of the above OK, the answer—(D)—is pretty obvious. Maybe too obvious. Maybe this subject is so plainly straw-mannish that it’s not even worth writing about. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Wednesday criticized former Vice President Dick Cheney’s views on foreign policy, describing his advice to House Republicans as “terrifying.” “Taking advice from Dick Cheney on foreign policy? That’s a terrifying prospect. We should be learning from our past mistakes, not repeating them,” Reid, D-Nev., said on the Senate floor Wednesday. “They’ve got to be really careful with advice they take from Dick Cheney. Dick Cheney is more responsible than anyone else for the worst foreign policy decision in the history of the country -- the invasion of Iraq,” Reid said.

Security contractors warned Hillary Clinton´s U.S. State Department nearly three months before a deadly 2012 terror attack on its diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya that guards were quitting at an alarming rate, leaving the facility vulnerable to assault. Judicial Watch, a center-right watchdog group, said Tuesday that it obtained damning emails as part of a Freedom Of Information Act lawsuit against the State Department. Advocates of UBI see it as a blunter, more effective means of reducing poverty and shrinking the inequality gap.
